Wow, i've just seen "Withnail and I", that film really is great. Has anyone else here seen it?

Richard E. Grant proves that you can be both penniless and unerringly imbued with class and coolness.

I have been looking for pictures and I found a trailer that makes me want to kill, mercilessly, many many Americans. This following trailer does as little justice to an art of great lines and fantastic acting as it is possible to do. American voice-overs can kill any good British film.

If you get the opportunity to see it, seize it.

Hargreaves
hmmm... What about 'A Clockwork Orange' (1971), It was certainly set and filmed in England, even if Stanley Kubrick wasn't english himself...Does that count? While it isn't a particually favorite film of mine, I thought it deserved a place here.

A truly excellent film. Never before have I seen violence portrayed so stylishly.

There's also all the James Bond films. I'm not sure if they're all strictly British but the concept was definately a British creation.

I also feel that the Full Monty needs a mention

'A Clockwork Orange' was one of the best films ever. Can't really say much for Bond though...Becoming very American recently.

And keeping with the subject of Full Monty (barely).... Who has seen 'The Life of Brian'?

Seen the life of Brian, yup.

Saw "Valiant" on Friday too, it really was rather good!

Has no one seen it? Pwnage does not even begin to describe it...

Nope, not sure I've even heard of it, to be honest.

On the other hand, I just saw Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels again, and that is a superb film. Perfectly cast, brilliantly directed, great script, and the soundtrack is stunning.
