Aw, I got the 2nd season of House on DVD today. Watched my favourite episode, the one with the 15 year old supermodel. (I'm being kind and giving you no spoilers...)
My favourite is the one when Foreman gets quarantined.

Those two are pretty great. The ending wasn't the best though. The best one in the new series is either 'House on a Plane' as I've nicknamed it or the one with the runaway couple (second best ending after the supermodel).

I know, but Foreman is not a nice guy and Cameron is always being manipulated.

I've not seen anything of the forth series.

Nope, those are the third series. Which they've only released as a boxset with the first two to steal more money.

I'm just watching my way through the first series. That and Dexter.

I confess I was worried it would be in bad taste- so it's actually good then?

Edit: Just curious, so how is the American Writer's Guild Association Strike affecting everyone's shows?

People forget the difference between 'affect' and 'effect'?

Iggy, I expected more from you.

tbh I think it's unlikely that the writer's strike effected him.

My parents effected me. heart

Like I said, who knows what is happening when people don't have decent TV to watch? Has he snared Mary with the carefully laid trap about bored potential parents? I think he has.

blaugh Bah, future archaeologists don't need all that fancy-talk anyways!

I think all I noticed was that most shows ended with nine episodes, so nothing too tragic.

Frasier heart
and That 70s Show heart heart

I never got Frasier. It just was too American for me to understand half the jokes. Plus it was a spinoff of another show I hated (can't remmeber right now).

Cheers?

I like the Colbert Report. Chuck was ok, and Pushing Daisies was ok in the begining(looks so misspelled- I shouldn't be up so late).
I liked 3rd rock from the sun when it was on.
I can't think of anything sad
24 was ok the first few seasons.

3rd Rock was good, but I find American humour is generally a little too braindead. Correct me if I'm wrong, of course, but the sitcoms that America produces seem to go for the easy joke, the uncontended humour. British humour seems to jar with the mainstream, even as it fits into it.

Uh, while I prefer British humour, do you mind explaining what "jars with the mainstream even as it fits into it" means? With examples? [Not being as hostile as I sound -- I just like a good discussion].

I'd say good British humour often contests and reinvents the mainstream. What The Office, for example, did at the time was not mainstream: it was the progenitor of a lot of tropes [and comedy stock characters] which are now mainstream as a direct result of its success -- but it was not mainstream. As a counter-example, the same could be said of Seinfeld for the Americans.
