Kou hurried along the sidewalk in the pouring rain under a wimpy umbrella and several bags in hands. The first one was curry and rice the other was as a bag of leftovers from the club. At least his manager had felt sorry for him and thought a few pastries might be nice. It gave Kimura Kou hope that the job was worth the hustle and bustle from day to day.

Upon his back was his backpack with everything for tonight's homework. That he wouldn't end up doing tonight but instead tomorrow morning just before classes. He had seen Ryuu's text but he wasn't sure that the man would really show up at his home again. However, just to play it safe, Kou purchased a 6 pack of beer. It cheap but tasted reasonable enough to be called beer. That bag was tied to his back pack and he felt kind of like a mule for all the things he was carrying.

When he got to the apartment, he spotted something bright...red? What the... "Ryuukaze-san....? Your hair...wow. You're getting wet!." Kou quickly set down a bag and fumbled for his keys then opened the door. "Hey, how have you been? Sorry get inside. I hurried back but I can only move as fast as the trains and the rain."

Upon getting into the apartment, he removed the coat and bags then got Ryuu and himself a towel. "I'm surprised you made it. I've some food if you'd like. And beer. Should still be cold." he said as he pulled out the food from the bags and then set the beer on the counter.

Upon seeing Kou, the soloist's body practically tingled from head to toes, a broad, somewhat goofy smile coming over his face.

"You like my new look?" he asked the host as he stepped into the man's apartment, not really having minded the rain or the storm. It somehow suited his mood at the moment, inasmuch as it had a strange calming effect on him.

"No worries, Kou...I probably shouldn't have been in such a rush to get over here." Ryu accepted the towel and gently patted his hair dry with one hand as he held out the two large bags in the other. Luckily, the bags had been tied shut so the contents hadn't gotten wet.

Inside, there was knitting thread of all sorts and colors, all the finest cashmeres and silks, chenilles and fleeces.

"Thought I'd bring a gift..." the vocalist grinned again, hoping that his new friend would find the offerings pleasing.

Kou grinned as he opened up the curry and rice bowl. "It's very bright. I like it. But you'll stand out everywhere you go with that hair." Kou looked pretty subdued in comparison with out the cosplay. "So did you just decide that on the spur of the moment? Or is this for a new album or something?"

Then, he set aside his curry bowl and took the bags to peek inside. "Wow! That's a lot of knitting thread." he laughed and then tilted his head. "Now you have to tell me the story of how you got away with shopping for all this looking like that. I can only imagine what the girls at Tokyuu Hands were thinking when you walked up with a cart load of these." He shook his head and continued to chuckle, "Thank you, I really like them."

He wanted to dig into the bags and figure out what he could make out of them but food came first. Placing the bags by his knitting supplies, he walked back into the kitchen and picked up his bowl. "Did you eat? I have a few pastries from work. Oh and have a beer." he said as he managed to scoop one up before walking out to his small living room and plotting down on the bean bag. "So....how was your day?"

(OOC: Oh good. Glad to hear it. I'm sure you'll feel a lot better in a few days!)

"Well..." for a moment, it seemed like Takagi would disagree.
There was no doubt in his mind of course that Aki didn't consider Yuuji family. He wasn't the direct blood that flowed through his veins like Akihiko was... and there might've been more of a chance of Yuuji becoming family had Yuriko not been murdered... but that course was obviously out the window.

Yuuji shrugged, "I've done a lot of things for Aki over the years... more lately than anything and most of your theory holds up. I don't think it was Aki's intention for you or Akihiko to get as hurt as you did at Izo's hands though... I mean... I've been shadowing you two for a while now... of course you know I know the identity of the man who hurt you both and that's the knowledge that I was keeping secret to keep Izo from killing my son... and I'll continue keeping it a secret because I don't want his number one coming after my boy in the middle of the night. So..." walking over to the wall, Takagi leaned against it comfortably. "I mean the rest of what you're saying makes sense. Aki played everyone like a damn chess board and I watched him do it half the time. If Akihiko asks he might just get an answer BUT..." the man held up a hand. "Aki won't let Akihiko close enough to ask. At least not on his own. I might be able to get him into the estate... but I'd end up incapacitating half a dozen security guards at least... and those are guards we could use elsewhere if push came to shove." Sighing, Yuuji shook his head. "And even if Akihiko asks... you're right, Aki's going to demand a price be paid for that knowledge. I've a feeling I know what it is though and neither of you are going to like it at all... unless the old b*****d's had a change of heart in the last few weeks. But I really have no idea what secret he's keeping so close to the vest. Especially a secret with the kind of firepower to keep Izo's mitts off Ohayou until the man dies..."

Wincing slightly, Akihiko stood from the piano bench and paced for a moment, one lithe finger tapping his chin.
Then he smirked and whirled around to face Shou.
"I've got it! Ko-kun's a kid... kid's get sick ALL the time, ne? Don't decline Matsumoto-san's invitation until the day of the dinner and then just phone him up and explain that Ko-kun's ill. If worst comes to worst you can always go alone if you have to, and I'm sure NAKO-san and Yamada-san can look after Ko-kun if nothing else. Hell, Ruki and I'll look after him even... but honestly..." the young tiger's blue eyes turned a bit icy.
It wasn't directed at Shou however... more like the mere thought of the spider.
"I wouldn't let Ko-kun set foot within a mile of Matsumoto-san if you can help it, Shou-san."

"I'm sure I know what price it is Yuuji..." Izzy turned away and laughed almost feeling like the devil might demand his immortal soul. But it wasn't his soul that Koyasu Aki would be after. No not at all. Just the love of his life...forfeit to a...woman. Because Family had live on. Maybe Koyasu Aki would rather die and take the keys to the kingdom with him than give it up to those not of the blood. Foolish old man.

"No...he won't let him close enough to ask right now. But, I'm sure that the old man will left an opening somewhere, if Akihiko looks for it. Family tell each other all kinds of secrets and I am sure that Akihiko if he thought about it would know a way to get to his grandfather's room." Izzy shook his head and then looked down before glancing over his shoulder with a rye smile.

"You think I'll be a good player one day? I might be able to do MeKA proud after all this." Then he sighed and imagined the chess board in front of him. So many pawns. "Well, mmm...I think I should think about your boy first."

Beautiful Dreamer

"Sick? Oh... mm.. maybe that would work." Shou seemed lost in thought for a moment because he'd have to play his cards right. "Ah...this is going to be so difficult because if he feels like I'm avoiding him with Ko, he'll continue to make invitations then he'll know something is up."

While on the surface Shou might have looked a bit flighty but underneath it all he was very concerned now that he had a bigger issue to worry about. Ko...was Yuuji's son. This mess was only going to get bigger. And he knew it.

But even though this was going to be difficult, he really did care for the small child. More than he could say in words. He could tell that Yuuji loved his child dearly. It was just that Shou didn't want to give up the beautiful boy that made Naoko laugh, gave himself reason to shine brighter, and maybe even warmed a few other hearts. Jun came to mind again. Shou had almost thought that man would have enjoyed being a daddy. Ah...but time was already passing and that dream became soft ashes.

Shou looked down snapping out of his brief reflection and caught Ko's glance, which was bobbing back and forth between the adults trying to figure out what was going on. "Oh..dear..I'm sorry Ko, that was work. But I'm done for now." He scooped up the boy in his arms and spun in a circle. His mischievous smile growing wide on his face as he spun the boy.

Ko laughed and held on while giggling. "You're going to make me dizzy!"

"Isn't that the point?" Shou asked he spun for a few moments longer before wobbling to a stop. There was always a distraction that he could play. Just like now....right?

"Narcissus-san, now that we're done with playing for awhile, would it be alright if Ko watched a little TV. He usually watches a little bit before bed....Mm...do you have one of the Anime stations?" asked Shou as he held Ko close. "I can tell after the long day that you're a bit tired. So many new things...ne?"

"Maybe...but I want to play more with Akihiko-niisan." Ko said with a small yawn.

"Yes, but Narcissus-san be right here in the morning so maybe if you're good tonight he'll play a song with you tomorrow." said Shou as he stroked Ko's hair.

"Yuriko reminds me of a piano...in my dreams." Ko yawned again and stretched his arms around Shou's shoulders. "I wasn't allowed to play a big...black piano in a rich house I with things I wasn't allowed to touch. Seemed kind of lonely there."

"Well at least it's only a dream, Ko." Shou said with a smile then looked back at Narcissus waiting for him to take the lead.

"Ne? Can I have some Mochi?" Ko asked as he looked over Shou's shoulder to peek at Akihiko. His smile just hidden by the star's shoulder.

"Yeah, I guess it does kinda make me a walking target...but, oddly enough, nobody seems to recognize me with this look, yet. Temporarily, it's a good thing." Ryuukaze commented. Of course, once the public got a good look at him like this and was able to identify the hair...oh boy. Maybe he needed to talk to Matsumoto-san about that...

"The girls at Tokyuu Hands were very nice, though. I told them it was for a friend, though. They were trying to be polite, but I could tell they were just a little bit confused..."

Ok, they had looked at him like he had two heads, but at least they kept smiling!

Taking the beer, the vocalist cracked it and took a long chug, then took a seat in the other bean bag.

"I don't have much of an appetite right now, but thank you. My day? Well, busy...but pretty typical, for the most part. My boss thought I should change my look a little...that's how I ended up like this. Had to talk with the PR head to sort things out about...last night. The story is that I was just trying to be fashionable and give a European greeting...and I was doing it wrong. Sounds about right, for me..." he chuckled, sipping his beer.

As he settled into the bean bag and took a sip of his beer, he shook his head rather amused, "You are a walking target. Well at least I know I won't miss you if I'm on a busy street in Tokyo. I suppose it works for the stage though. Maybe you should purchase a wig for those days you just want to be yourself."

Kou could only guess what day to day life might be like with that hair do. He wasn't sure he'd be up for spiking it all the time. And he knew that red didn't last as long as other colors. Good thing he wasn't having to pay for Ryuukaze's hair salon bill. Kou prefered wigs because it made the cosplays easier to do and he could take it off afterwards.

"I bet they were looking at you. Haha...probably wondering if you had some sore of crazy girlfriend. Not many people expected a young man to be knitting or doing much else with string unless possibly bondage." Ok so maybe Ryuukaze fit that sort of image right now. His hair was definitely making a statement and the metal leather look kind of said the same thing.

"So what made you decide on this new style? I mean sure your boss might have recommended it but you chose the look right?" Kou asked as he set down his beer and picked up the curry bowl.

"Oh and yeah...today pretty much was the same old same old. So that was nice. No one bugged me. I thought these girls were going to ask me questions on the way to the University but after I rounded a corner they didn't follow. So everything seems pretty much normal. Except for my facebook. I've not looked at that since this morning. Not sure I want to. Ugh." He leaned back in his chair and sucked down some of the tofu in his bowl. Kou didn't realize that someone had been tailing him taking care of the fans that happened to put two and two together. "But it sounds like you've had a good day. So your PR head has it all under control?"

He picked up his beer again and took a swig then said, "So..I couldn't text you much because I worked a double. I've also still got studying to do but I'll do it in the morning before class I think. So you can say awhile if you want to tonight. Oh yeah. My co-worker was telling me that Narcissus is doing a club event with a couple other vocalist I've never heard of. One of the locations isn't too far from here. I thought I might check it out. I doubt I'll be able to get tickets but it might be fun going and scoping out the stars as they arrive. But I have a feeling a lot of girls are going to be lined up ten rows deep to get a glimpse of him." He mused and then smiled at Ryuu., "Hah...I bet I kind of sound silly right now. But I should be off work one of those club nights and it's kind of fun being in the excitement. You'll have to tell me when your next show is so I can get some tickets for it."

"A wig? I dunno...that sounds a little stuffy for all day wear. I don't see how you work wearing wigs all the time. I was thinking more along the lines of just pulling it back and letting it hang in a slick ponytail or something..." Ryu spoke softly as he tried to relax.

"What made me decide? Ah...well, I didn't really decide. Not..really. The boss had me go see the stylists, and they just kind of...did their thing. I did say absolutely not to a few things...but, in the end, I just went with the flow."

Wow...when he said all that out loud, it really made him sound pretty...lame.

"Man...I dunno. I guess I'm just kinda out of touch with myself lately..." the star lamented, chugging his beer a bit.

"I'm glad your day wasn't pure hell...courtesy of me. It seems that I'm really, really bad about making everybody's life rough, even when I mean well. I do believe everything is under control, now, though. Of course, I'm sure there will be those who don't buy it, but it will all blow over pretty quickly."

For a moment, Ryuukaze gazed out the apartment window, a bolt of lightning flashing in the distance, brightening his features for a split second. It almost made him seem...eerie.

"Hey, I'll give you tickets to any of my shows you want to come to, Kou. You don't even have to ask. I might even be able to come up with something for you to go see Narcissus...even though we're from competing labels and all. I can guarantee there will be hordes of frantic girls there, though....and that goes for my shows as well as Narcissus'."

"Wigs aren't that bad. I've gotten used to them." Kou said with a smirk. "Keeps me from dying it." He laughed then pointed out. "Yes, I guess you could put it in a pony tail. It would look rather cute."

"I guess I just take an active part when I have a person cut my hair. I mean I don't want that old style business cut. And I can't afford to look one of those rich host that take care of the girls in Shinjuku. I'm just not that far yet. Although I've been offered a few better jobs. I just am not sure I'd like giving up the cosplay gig. Gives me some anonymity. If you know what I mean. How many people remember me...or do they just remember...Grell." He tilted his head and looked at Ryuu. The man seemed very much out of it today.

"Hey, don't worry too much about that. You know that when you realize you're out of touch with yourself, things suddenly have a way of coming back into perspective. You just have to remember to not let yourself be overwhelmed by it when it comes back into focus." Kou said in between bites before finally putting down the empty bowl.

"It seems like it wasn't too much of a shock to the world I guess. And that's a good thing well at least for me. Mm...So you doing ok? I mean you seem a bit contemplative today. Hopefully the fans didn't read you the riot act online." he said as he pulled up one of the bags of knitting goodies to his lap.

"OOoh...these are nice. I can make maybe....a blanket Or if I'm really creative a super long sweater shirt. Something goofy fun like that." He grinned as he pulled out some of the yarn and looked at the colors.

Kou smiled as he set the yarn on his lap, "That would be fun...I'd like to see one of your shows up close. Yes, well, If you can't that's ok too. I mean it is kind of interesting to watch all the insane fans swarming around. I bet it's annoying for stars like you. I mean when the women start tossing pants and bras. Wow. I don't know what I'd think if I were in your shoes."

"Cute?" the vocalist's eyes flashed for a moment, a playful, attractive smirk slowly spreading across his face. The word cute, when used in relation to anything directly connected to him, had the power to turn the star's mood around when used by one Kimura Kou.

Chuckling, Ryu finished his beer and leaned back in the beanbag, crossing his leg over one knee.

"Not that bad, huh? Well, I'll keep that in mind. I could buy some wigs, or I guess I can always just change it again, if I feel like it...but I'm probably just going to keep in in a cute ponytail, as you put it."

At the mention of Grell, however, Ryuukaze's whole aura seemed to shift.

"Hey...I met you as Grell, so its only natural that I remembered you as the character more than as the person you are...but I can tell you one thing for sure, I like you much more now that I know you outside of work. And that's saying a lot...because I adored you when I met you."

What the vocalist meant was a kind, friendly word. What it came out as, though, was more along the lines of a flirt, if not outright wooing.

All the talk of his life felt far too gloomy all of a sudden and Ryu felt compelled to change the subject.

"Hey...let's not worry about my mid-midlife crisis or whatever...not worrying about fans or trouble...I'd just like to see you smile for a while." he said, watching and laughing as Kou went on about knitting and concerts.

"Annoying? I never thought of it as annoying before. Maybe a little bit, now...but...I think it'll go back to being fun soon enough. I just...I like seeing people having fun, partying and smiling. That's my...it's like my drug, if you will. I need positive energy to charge me up, or something..." he snickered, though it was true. Positivity filled him up, negativity....well, it drained him dry. Probably why he was in the state he was in at this point...

"Yes...cute." Kou answered as he pulled out a couple of knitting needles and hook a thin red yarn to the end of it. "I think I'll make you a sweater to go with your hair. Might take me a couple weeks but with all this yarn I'm sure something bright and funky can come out of it."

"No...not bad at all. You get used to it after hours of wearing them. And if their nice wigs they let your scalp breath too." Kou couldn't say that his wigs were all nice like that. He didn't have the kind of money that Ryuukaze had so he made due with cheaper ones.

"I know. Most everyone remembers me better as Grell. I think it's his red hair that does it. And sometimes the chainsaw." he answered with a wink and a wide smile that might have been quite similar to his cosplay.

"For next week, I got the lucky draw and get to dress up as Kaworu from Evangelion for work. The club is participating in the Gillette Shaving Cream promotion. So it should be fun." he hummed a little as he started to knit the first row of Ryuu's future sweater.

"Mid life crisis? You? Give me a break. You're too young for a mid life crisis. You're not even 30 yet." he teased as he glanced Ryuu's way. "You make me smile just with your company."

"Haha...I suppose it would be fun getting some great views like that eh? Partying would be fun too. I was invited to the University New Years party but not sure if I'll make it. My work is also doing a New Years club party for customers. But...since I took that double shift I get first choice for when I'm off that night. I might leave around 8 and see if I can find a good spot to watch fireworks. What are you doing on New Years?" Kou asked as he shifted his weight on the bean bag so he could talk to Ryuu while he knitted.

"You just have to make it seem natural. If you say Ko-kun's sick then make sure he stays home and in bed... or at least on the sofa all wrapped up." Akihiko said, acting as if he'd done this millions of times before.

He kind of had... at least as a boy.

Laughing, the young Koyasu couldn't help but be amused by the spinning. When Shou picked the child up and asked about television however, well... Narcissus could only smile. "There's a large television in one of the guest rooms. How about it, Ko-kun? Want to get all warm in bed with some mochi and milk and watch a little anime?"

The musician stood, leading the way from the studio's soundproof room. He completely ignored Izzy and Michi, who seemed to be discussing something near the sound boards, and lead the peacock and his charge up the stairs.

"How about you pick which Mochi you want as a midnight snack, ne?" the musician asked with a wink Ko's way, heading into the kitchen where the box his guests had brought was stashed.

Sighing, Takagi shook his head. "Well then you're the best person to convince Akihiko to try and talk with the old man. Like I said, I can get him in... but I'll need ample warning. The best time would probably be New Years... security might not be AS tight." the acting Ohayou chairman couldn't help but feel a bit guilty for letting this go on for as long as it had.

Now he had Hideo back... god he'd have to move quickly to make sure Izo didn't know of this sudden change in the spider's ever reaching web.

"I think you'll be better than us all." Yuuji smiled slightly, watching as Akihiko, Shou, and Hideo left the sound studio and headed back upstairs. "But you're right... I need to think about Hideo and what's best for him right now... I'll call Aya-chan tomorrow morning, after we've talked to Shou-san, and see what she thinks."

"I really don't know if I want Akihiko to talk to the old man....to be honest. I used to think only of my job...Ohayou and my stars. But now, well, I want to invest more in me and Akihiko." he answered with a tilt of his head. A big change from the manager that used to work all hours and catered to his stars.

"New Years....that's really unfortunate timing..." Izzy said with a slight frown. For whom the bell tolls at Midnight... "Mm....Akihiko wanted to see the old man on New Years...come to think of it. But I believe that's more of a grandson needing to see his grandfather than what you and I've spoke of here." he admitted as he watched Akihiko and Shou walk by with Ko.

"Mm...I hope so. Because I don't think Akihiko is a corporate man at heart. His passion is for the arts. I want him not to have to worry so much about all those other things. I like seeing him smile." he said with a thoughtful expression as he watched the backside of his partner take to the stairs. He truly loved that man and hoped that his future would always be shining among the stars.

"Good idea. I'm not sure how Shou will take it if your wife agrees. I forgot how difficult he is about his appearance. I know Ko knows what he looks like but I'm not sure how Shou will handle other outsiders. We have to remember when we talk to Shou we aren't...well..mm...He's just not like normal people. What we think is rational....he might not. Although, I can say that he loves your son very much. So hopefully he can bend a bit for Ko's sake. So...why don't we follow them upstairs..."

Izzy went to the door and opened it because he really didn't want to talk much further without Akihiko and Shou present. They needed to come up with concrete ideas before morning.

Shou eyed Narcissus for a moment and then said, "You were a bad boy as a child weren't you?" He tried to be serious for that moment but then it ended with a chuckle. He could definitely see Narcissus as a bad little boy. Definitely! "Don't give Ko ideas!" he said to his rival.

"Akihiko-niisan is smart!" said Ko as he winked at Akihiko. Oh boy. The kid probably could be trouble given the right motivation.

"Oh no...it's already starting." Shou tsked as he covered Ko's ear that was away from his shoulder. "Remind me never to let you babysit, Narcissus-san." he muttered as they started for the stairs.

However, he lifted his hand quickly and the boy laughed answering Akihiko's question, "I'd like that! Mochi and Milk and TV!"

Shou shook his head feeling like a Mommy with his rival playing the part of the older bad boy Uncle. Oh great they were quite a pair!

When they arrived in the kitchen, Shou sat Ko down as Akihiko opened the box. "Oooh....I'd like the Taro Mochi! And for a midnight snack...um....That one." He pointed to a white one that smelled like vanilla pudding. Meanwhile, Shou took the time to pour a glass of milk in a smaller cup for the boy. He really did think that Narcissus could be a good Uncle if he wanted to be. But then again, Ko had a way of making others warm up to him.

"Do you have a really big TV in my room for tonight? Uncle Shou has a big TV in our family room. Uncle Naoko lets me watch Gundam. But I like the new anime Sword Art Online. Oh no! Did Uncle Naoko make his song yet? He told me forgot! And Ya....Yamada-san will get upset if he doesn't get that done." He remembered that because Sword Art Online was about a video game. Ko frowned and looked a bit worried because he didn't want Naoko in trouble. "Maybe I should write music for a video game for him tonight."

"Oh my, Ko...Don't worry about Naoko-kun. He's in my house, I've a studio there and well, mm...I'm sure he'd want to do it himself. But I'm also sure he'd appreciate the thought if you did write one. We can talk to him tomorrow afternoon." said Shou and he glanced up at Narcissus. "Right?"

"Make me a sweater? Aw, well then I'll have to make you.....uh.....some.....coasters." Ryu laughed.

"How about I just write you a song or something!" the vocalist stuck out his tongue, "At least I actually know how to do that. A song for my friend. That shouldn't be too hard. Fair enough trade for a cozy sweater, you think?"

So he was being absolutely silly now, though he meant what he said. He could write a song about Kimura Kou. Something about....strawberries....

"Ah, but I did say MID-mid-life crisis, ya know. But seriously, I'm just being all emo about things."

Shifting from his perch on the bean bag, Ryuukaze leaned forward, his elbow resting on his knee, his chin resting on his fist as though he were analyzing something intensely.

"Just with my company? Really? Well, I guess I'll have to keep coming around, then, to make sure you keep smiling..." the star's eyes met Kou's and held them for a second, his gaze warm and gentle, almost magnetic, as if it could pull one in deep and never let go.

"New Years? I don't...I don't really have any plans...at the moment..." Ryu's gaze dropped, caught off guard. New Years hadn't even crossed his mind since Christmas. With all the terrible things he'd dealt with, he hadn't really been in a holiday frame of mind for a while.

"Yes, a sweater. Well, it might be a crazy colorful sweater considering the yarn. But for you...that probably will fit." Then Kou smirked, "Sure. I'd love a few new coasters."

That smiled continued and he laughed when Ryuu stuck out his tongue. "Don't stick that out too far or it might get snatched." he said with a grin then was a bit embarrassed when Ryuu said he'd write him a song. "For me? Oh my...well I...I don't know what you'd sing about. Coasters? Yarn? I'm kind of boring. They'd think you were singing about some old woman that knits. And I can only imagine you singing about coasters. OH...circles of yarn and sharp pointy needles. I'm fumble fingers for you.", he crooned the lame lyrics being incredibly silly. And why not? It was fun and he had no one to put on airs for.

"Emo....well better than Elmo that's for sure. Of course with that hair..." he winked at Ryuu in amusement. "Yes, you should visit every so often. It brightens my day." Kou gazed into those eyes for just a moment's breath then caught himself for looking too closely.

"Ah...You don't? I'm surprised! Well if you don't, why not hang out with me? I'll make sure I get off earlier and we can meet up. Probably nothing fancy except maybe watching fireworks from the rooftop here but still better than being alone." he said and poked Ryuu with the blunt side of his knitting needle.

Of course Kou didn't know what Ryuu had been through these past several days. If he had, he might not have been so playful about it all. Although, he did wonder about the 'other' person in Ryuu's life. If that person was still a part of Ryuu's life...or not. It wasn't his place to ask so he'd leave that alone. He could afford to take things slow because he hadn't really expected the star to keep showing up like he did recently.
