☆ ☆【With their enemy now well taken care of, hardly even getting a chance to attack before being bombarded and downed by a barrage of blows, Mogwai was quick to make haste and gather up the rest of his teammates to catch up with Daphnes who had slid a bit of a ways ahead. Chickpea again didn’t really mind being picked up, happily humming along as the Bewear quickly crossed the grassy path to the stairs as the Shelgon ahead started climbing up. Since he had his hands currently full with Dune and Chickpea, he wasn’t in much of a position to carry Daphnes, though it seemed the bulky Dragon-type was still managing to make way up the stairs in spite of his clumsy frame and short legs. Still, Mogwai was glad to match his pace so that their companion could keep up, not wanting to get too far ahead and possibly lose sight of him. Plus after running so much the past few times they had needed to beat a hasty retreat, being able to take it a bit slower this time around was a welcome change of pace.
Mogwai’s ears twitched as Chickpea spoke up, wondering what the next guardian they would face would look like. That was definitely a good point… though that might have to wait until they actually found out what the theme of the next floor was. At the Bewear’s inquiry of if they might be getting closer to Darkrai, the Chikorita spoke up first, suggesting that they had been going through a lot lately so it was possible that Darkrai wasn’t much further ahead. As they finally made it to the top of the stairs, Daphnes finally chipped in his answer as he said they he hoped so, or else he’d be the next one to be carried. Mogwai gave a small smile as the Shelgon chuckled, noticing how the Dragon-type seemed a bit worn out after climbing such a long way. ”Siiiiiire Daaaaaaphneeeees teeeeell Moooooogwaaaaaiiii iiiiif waaaaant caaaaarryyyy?” the bear suggested, tilting his head slightly. Of course, carrying Daphnes along with his other companions might be a bit more difficult, especially given that his new form was a fair bit larger and bulkier than when he’d been a Bagon. Still, Mogwai felt that perhaps he’d be able to handle himself well enough, though he’d definitely keep in mind to slow down for him if they had yet more stairs to climb.
Bending down a little, the Bewear gently placed Dune back onto the now solid ground below, wrapping his now free paw around with the other as he gave Chickpea a gentle hug as promised. ”Huuuuuug goooooood~” Mogwai murmured happily, carefully releasing his hold on the Chikorita and letting him jump down to the ground as well if he wished. A sudden voice, one that didn’t sound like Daphnes or any of their other companions, drew the group’s attention towards another Pokemon standing nearby, asking them if they were looking for Darkrai. The Bewear hummed curiously as he took in the rather odd appearance of the Charmander, from the strange markings on its face and legs to its deep red scales and even the black flame on the tip of its tail. Was this… maybe another Pokemon who had been pulled into the dream world like they had? Or was this perhaps an inhabitant of the dream world? Mogwai had noticed they had yet to really see any other Pokemon that lived here in this world aside from that pink thing from earlier and all of those Pokemon they’d fought to progress to each floor. Still, he nodded in agreement to the odd Charmander’s question, who immediately pointed them towards a town nearby. Mogwai blinked, the sudden transition from natural environments like the forest, cave, and swamp to something much more manmade and urban was… rather jarring. Even more strange was how the town itself seemed to be completely empty… entirely devoid of any life aside from the multitude of Pokemon groups making their way through. ”Coooooome wiiiiith uuuuuus?” the Bewear inquired, pointing towards the Charmander and glancing around at his collective teammates in inquiry. He still wasn’t entirely sure of where this little one had come from, but somehow it wouldn’t be right for them to just leave it here on its own. Mogwai was more than happy to let the Charmander tag along with them if it wanted to, but he wanted to be sure his companions were okay with it too.】☆ ☆

☆ ☆【Fianna kept her eyes focused ahead as the group ascended the stairs, leaving the swamp further and further behind them with every step. Occasionally the Braixen would glance over towards Xiao Lan, making sure that the Noibat stayed close, not letting herself ease up even a little at the possibility of another Hypno trying to whisk the little bat off until they finally reached the top of the stairs. Blowing out a breath in relief, she turned her attention towards Daiki, who still seemed rather tired but had managed to get his powers back under control once the heat of the fight had passed. ”You doing alright there?” she inquired, her eyes narrowing slightly as she gave the Zoroark a quick once-over glance just to make sure, ”That was a pretty tough fight… I can’t begin to imagine how much harder the next one might be, or when we find Darkrai…” She hoped that Daiki would be able to survive until then… it seemed he was still struggling with combat and using perhaps a bit more power than he needed to. Maybe that was also why he’d been feeling so tired after every battle… She knew he had mentioned being relatively inexperienced with battling due to lack of training, but at the same time… she was starting to wonder if maybe it was more than just that. ”Seems like you’re starting to get better, a little at least,” she offered encouragingly with a small smile, though the worry in her eyes was still clear as day.
Shaking her head, she focused back on the path ahead, blinking upon noticing that the next area they had to go through appeared to be some kind of town. Compared to the tight, claustrophobic feeling of the swamp, this area definitely seemed much more open, even the fog appeared to be almost non-existent here. It was definitely a step up from the swamp, at least they didn’t have to worry about slogging through more mud. Still… that was hardly of much comfort upon noticing how weirdly empty the place looked, no signs of any other life in sight aside from groups of Pokemon brought here from the real world pushing onwards down the road. Even the sounds of bustling and faint conversation that would otherwise be commonplace for a town like this seemed entirely absent from here, as if this whole place was just some kind of well put together set from a play or movie… just here for the purpose of being simply another environment for them to traverse through. That got Fianna thinking of what they might be facing off against next, their encounter with the Hypno in the swamp had broken the Ghost-type theming she had initially thought the pattern of guardians was going for… So as far as she knew, whatever the next guardian might be could very well be anything at this point. Her eyes drifted over towards the buildings as their collective group made headway along the solid road, humming thoughtfully as she rubbed against her chin with her free hand. ”Think we should try checking out some of those buildings there?” she asked, gesturing towards a small cluster of structures nearby that appeared to be shops of some kind, ”We might be able to find something useful in them, if they can be accessed at least…” That being said, she wasn’t sure if they were even able to get inside the buildings, or if they might even have anything of possible worth inside. Still, it could be worth a try, right?】☆ ☆

A town! An actual town, and one that she could see no less! Prim narrowed her eyes as she stood at the town line, a few shops and other unmarked buildings before her. What was more surprising than the town itself was the fact that she could actually see it; no mist, no fog, no darkness, nothing to impede her vision. The one thing that threw her off though, was how quiet the town was. It wasn't anything new, the other floors had been just as quiet, but this place was the first 'civilized' area they'd been in. She'd been in a lot of cities and towns before, and none had been this silent before. But, as off-setling as it was, Prim didn't hesitate to start drifting into town, though just like before she didn't allow herself to get too far ahead of her team, and glanced at the first line of shops she passed. Empty, just like everywhere else they'd been.

C H I C K P E A The Chikorita
Even with Sir Mogwai's slower pace, to keep level with Sir Daphnes, the trip up the stairs was a relatively quick one, and Chickpea certainly had no complaints! Especially not when, once they'd made it to the next floor, he was wrapped in a hug. A warm, soft, and comforting hug that elicited a soft sigh from the Chickpea, before he was released onto the ground. With a content 'Chiiii!' he bounced up and down, hugs were great! "You give amazing hugs!" he complimented, body still warm.
Chickpea did a slow 360 of their area, taking it all in. He hadn't expected to be in a town, of all places! It looked so... modern, and in fact it reminded him of the areas he and Christian had passed through, when they were with the nice lady who'd squished his face. His head-leaf began to waggle as he recalled those first few hours outside of the lab, everything had been so new to him! It'd been exciting, a tad bit overwhelming, but overall a great experience! Chickpea was lost in his memories, so maybe that was why he didn't notice the lizard that approached the group until he spoke out.
"Hm?" He turned his head in the direction of the pokemon, eyes immediately drawn to the fire that crackled at the end of his tail; it was pretty! While he didn't recognize the pokemon's species, he did recognize a potential friend! And so, when Sir Mogwai offered the lizard the opportunity to join them, Chickpea was quick to join in. "Yeah! You can be our guide for this place," he suggested. Before the pokemon had the chance to give his answer, Chickpea felt his head grow heavy, prompting him to rise his eyes accordingly. He couldn't exactly see what it was, though he did catch a glimpse of green -- that wasn't his own.
Thankfully, his new passenger didn't have the same problem. "Hey. Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't we met before?" Chickpea blinked, confused, before the sound of flapping wings filled the air and the weight on his head was lifted, providing him more mobility. He lifted his head back, then watched as a green bird landed delicately onto the ground. "Oh!" Recognition lighting his gaze, he began nodding his head fiercely, answering the pokemon's question. "You were there when I met that bamboo fox!" he elaborated, to which the Natu slowly nodded her head, ]"Yeah... that was me." Chickpea laughed, pleased to see the pokemon even if he was a bit confused. "How'd you get here? And is the bamboo fox with you?" Natu took her time with answering his question, her gaze sweeping across the other pokemon that made up Chickpea's team as well as their surroundings.
"No, he's not. And... I'm not really sure how I got here -- I just found myself waking up here," she explained, before she hopped closer to Chickpea; even though he was still virtually a stranger, he was the most familiar thing in this... town. "Oh! Well, that's okay! I can explain what's going on to you. So you should come with us!" Chickpea spoke, offering her the same opportunity that Sir Mogwai had given to the lizard. Natu nodded her head--or at least did her best, in reality it just looked as if she was tilting forward--before she fluttered up and landed back onto Chickpea's head. "That's fine by me."

"I hope so," Vivace remarked, allowing herself to believe Piper's optimistic view. She didn't want to be in this dream much longer. Not that she didn't enjoy spending time with her friends, and getting to know each other, she just wanted to wake up -- and soon, at that. At least in the real world you didn't have convenient, albeit suspicious, food items just popping up. "Maybe a lot more time has passed than we realized," she suggested, tacking on to Radium's theory that their real bodies were actually hungry. "So... although it doesn't seem like too much time has passed here, maybe it's already been a couple of hours -- or even a whole day, since we fell asleep." Of course, that wasn't the most positive idea, but it was an idea nonetheless.
Vivace looked around the town as they began to walk through it, and paid special attention to the buildings they passed. Some had large glass windows you could peer through, and take a glimpse inside of. "I've never been in one of these before," she admitted, absent-mindedly, as her gaze roamed about. She'd very much been a wild pokemon before she'd been caught, which wasn't too much of a surprise considering her ignorance of the human world. "We should probably stay away from the buildings though -- there's no telling what's inside."

Noah couldn’t help but smirk in pride as the Hypno started to regret its actions and back away nervously from the duo. Clearly it couldn’t handle their combined might; it dared to make a final cowardly attack before Allure gave it a slam with her own tail, sending the thing flying off into the bog.
"Noice one sheila!" The Dewott cheered, punching a fist in the air at their victory. Now that was a battle that he could get behind, especially since they’d fought for once. It was no fun just punching light weights after all. He skipped up next to the dragon with a grin. "Yeh alrigh’ there? Took some blows there, but yeh were amazin’ 'Luro!" He praised, though stopped to blink and glance towards the stairs curiously as she remarked at the others had already progressed.
"Oh yeh? Well, let’s get goin’ eh? Don’ want’em gettin’ inta trouble withou’ us!" He remarked and once that was settled quickly headed up the stairs. He didn’t expect the town that laid before them though. Now that was confusing. "Wha’ tha…,"

Ulani didn’t expect that the next floor would contain a town. It was a nice change of pace from all the dark and doom and gloom and whatnot that they’d been dealing with the last few floors. The little squirrel couldn’t help but give a gasp of surprise, her treasures (which she had promptly recollected before ascending the stairs) clutched tightly to her chest as she quickly followed after Prim, glancing back to the other members of their group to assure they were keeping pace before turning her attention to the stores and stuff. It was so quiet… where was everyone?
