Severus took a deep breath and sat down next to Remus, his heart feeling like it was breaking in two. "How... How can you get better?"

Remus hugged im as tightly as he could in his condition and burried his face in Severus' chest. "I can tell you heard Sevie. You're acting completely different." He let go of him. "I have to mark my mate. And appearently the wolf in my chose my mate without me knowing. You were right we weren't going to last. I guess you can't fight fate."

Severus nodded. "I suppose not," he agreed, putting on an unemotional mask. He was hurt, he was torn in half, and he would be damned if he let Sirius and James see it.

"I'll always love you." He whispered in his ear and kissed his cheek.
"So Remy do you know who you're mate is then if it's not Snape?" He was glad he deffinately wouldn't have to put up with Snape anymore and that this ment he still had a chance to be with Remus.
Remus looked at his friend and nodded. "Yeah I think I do know."

Severus smiled sadly. "I'm going to... I'm going to go," he muttered to no one in particular and left.
"Who do you think your true mate is," James asked, not bothering to stop Severus from leaving.

"Bye Severus." He felt bad for hurting him like that. He looked at Sirius. "Siri can you get me something to eat? I'm really hungry." He pouted.
"Ummm sure." He left to get Remus some breakfast.
Once Sirius was gone Remus turned to James. "I think it's Sirius but I'm afraid he won't want to be my mate."

James bit his lip, trying to decide what he should and shouldn't say about his thoughts. "He cares for you a great deal, you know," he finally ventured. "He worries about you even more than I do."

"But see I'm not even entirely sure since you both take such great care of me. So I'm sure it's one of you two but I don't want to lose either of you by telling one of you that you're my mate. I mean you're both straight." he groaned and rested his head on his knees. "Why couldn't it have been Severus?"

James literally bit his tongue to keep his thoughts to himself. "You know I wouldn't have a problem with it, Moony. I mean, with you and Padfoot being mates. And Padfoot... Well, I don't know entirely what Padfoot feels for you, but I know he cares a lot more than I think either of us know."

"You think? I guess I'll tell him then. I guess it really doesn't matter. If he rejects me Greyback will take me away to find me a mate that's a werewolf. Speaking of which what got into you earlier James?" He smiled a bit. "Challenging a full grown werewolf like that?"
Sirius came back with food from Remus. "Here you are." He looked between James and Remus. "So...you two mates now?"

"You're my friend, Remus. If he hurts you, or any of my friends for that matter, I don't know what I would do for retribution." James made a face when Sirius came back. "I'm not his mate, Padfoot. I'm straight as stick, remember?"

"Well how was I supose to know? You ask who he thinks his mate is and he sends me out of the room."
Remus had already started eatting the eggs, bacon, and sausage Sirius had brought him. He chuckled a bit and swallowed what was in his mouth. "You know what I like to eat and I was starving. Besides I had to talk to James about something else. i was woundering if he knew how you'd react when I told you I think that you're my mate." He blushed. "I've kind of been really sure about it for a while now but I didn't want to ruin our friendship by telling you."

James grinned at the look on Sirius's face-something between euphoria, shock, and a slight hint of nervousness. "I'll just leave you two alone for a while. I have an essay I have yet to write anyway. See ya."
Sirius stared at Remus, the almost comical expression still on his face. "You... You're serious?"

"No you're Sirius." He smiled. "Yes. Sirius you're the most important person in my life. And I didn't want to lose you so i never told you how I felt. I hope you'll be my mate. If you don't Greyback's taking me away and i won't get to see you at all."

Sirius smiled at the pun even though it was one he'd heard his entire life. "Of course... Of course, I'll be your mate." Sirius blushed and ducked his head. "What about Snape?"
