Not really. "Babes" sounds more crude... like something a howling construction worker would say. Not to say "chicks" is "refined" by any means, but I don't find it any more derogatory than "women", "females", or "ladies". Besides, if women find being called "chicks" to be so offensive, then why do some refer to themselves and other females as "chicks"?

If you're going to be offended at being called a "chick" because you have wings, you might as well be offended by katana and icy calling you "chica"... seeing as how it also means small, which... *looks at Ayami's legs* is something you definitely are not.

*sips his drink while continuing to casually stare at her legs... not fully absorbing what Psyzapp was saying*

*frustrated that TES is being a typical MAN and not hearing her, she goes over to the bar across from him, opens the dictionary again to the page that defines the word "chick", puts in onto the bar facing him and grabs him by the ear to haul his face into the book. She uses her other hand and points to the word.*

tch... that dictionary is biased. While it -can- be used in a derogatory manner, that does not mean it is always like that. If you look it up with other sources, you'll see that there are varying opinions regarding its use. And as I stated earlier, if it is so "obviously offensive", then why do women also use the word? stare
