*finding it odd that Ryzan hasn't come back to their quarters all night, he heads upstairs to see if he's still there. As he comes into the main bar area, he finds Ryzan just sitting there at the counter, kind of staring off into space. Tes lifts an eyebrow at him and takes a seat next to him, but he doesn't seem to notice*

There were a few different things that brought me into tangents of my own, rilu'oh... what I was thinking about mzilst was her mention of envying you and I.
Who doesn't? I'm hot and you're married to a hot guy. Envy is inevitable cool
She was referring to our relationship in general, giving jabbress' marriage as another example of such.

It is rather impolite to still question it after they just vowed themselves to one another in marriage.
Yeah... well... marriage doesn't mean a whole lot of anything to some people. Even our marriage didn't mean jack until recently.
Ours was a completely different circumstance. Theirs was voluntary.
I don't know.... Psy can be kind of forceful sometimes...
I do not think she forced Dougherty to marry her rolleyes

Anyhow, what I was trying to get to earlier.... when Liada first mentioned being a little envious, I did not really understand to what she was referring. She said we have overcome mzilt together, though I do not think she knows a great deal of our history with one another sweatdrop I thought that, given her seniority, she surely had many more hardships throughout her lifetime... making it ves likely she had possibly gone through worse at some point. Rilu'oh, she said no matter the age or hardships, it is finding a soulmate that really marks overcoming them... or at least that is how I interpreted what she had said.
um... if you can't overcome something by yourself, finding a partner doesn't magically fix it.

She said that hardships, no matter their severity, are burdens on the soul. As time goes on, the soul acquires mzild such burdens, and finding a soulmate helps carry the weight of these burdens.

It's not like in the end it's any less weight, though. In exchange for your partner taking on your burdens, you also take on some of theirs. Relationships in themselves come with hardships of their own as well, so in the end, you could very well end up with more rather than less.
Additionally, if it's more than you can handle yourself, it may put more on your partner than they are prepared to take, making the entire relationship collapse when it might have otherwise been successful.
One needs to be able to carry their own problems without the help of anyone else before they even think about bringing someone else in the picture.

I think perhaps she may have not necessarily meant needing help in shouldering the burden, jhal rather having the... how you say.... "camaraderie".... knowing that you are not alone in carrying such burdens.
