Talking to my academic adviser on Monday about transferring to UNL. Once I'm in a school on the semester system, I may have more time to post on Gaia. sweatdrop

UNL, eh?
Remind me to give you a heads up about the Cacophony Society meetings once I get them running on a predictable schedule. Probably half of the people I've mentioned it to so far either attend or work there, or spend a lot of time in the campus/downtown area.

You may already be a member xd

Doubt it, since I'm still in New York and won't be attending UNL until spring semester at the earliest. But it sounds awesome. ^_^

I'm hoping to have things in semi-ship-shape condition by then, though issues of scheduling are issues that can be very slow to resolve. As it stands we've had a meeting that was more of a pitch of the concept to some people we thought would be receptive and we're sitting at "we'll have another meeting as soon as I have time for another one." Hopefully I'll get it down to a predictable monthly schedule by the end of the year.

Anyway, give me a shout when you're in town and I'll send you an update.

A class that was intended to be on who held responsibility for child rearing in medieval Ireland segued rather nicely into being a class on satirists, what satirists were and why they were so feared, and why female satirists in particular were feared.

I love that lecturer. Even when she doesn't follow her lecture plan, she teaches us interesting stuff that relates to other things in the course, and intersperses it with trying very hard not to make scathing commentary on modern politics and the college.

Also, I'm looking to pick up a few penannular brooches for my cloaks. I had one ages ago that I adored that was bronze (I think) and very simple, but I can't find anything that looks sturdy enough to survive me that isn't 60-100$. Anyone know of any good sites for functional jewelry?

Yeah, so you see... I am passionate about history... like some people are passionate about sex, or sometimes chocolate...
I've been reprimanded for that passion.
I am taking this up with the Dean. I'm also starting a History Club, if I can find a teacher to sponsor it... if not, it will have to be a non-scholastic club.
I'm tired of seeing things I care about maligned, and especially ill with being told that I am an immature little brat for caring so much. I'm an immature little brat for far different reasons.

I just finished all my class work for this quarter... o_o All I have left to do is independent study work and thesis research. I've never been without work nearly every day and mind shattering levels of school related stress...

I... don't know what to do with myself now... the boredom is mind boggling...
