most ants congregate into hibernating colonies, supported by supplies gathered during summer, and do survive
grasshoppers die out, only to re-swarm in the spring from the eggs laid down previous year

Animals are stupid, tacking too many names onto them would only confuse them even more. I guess it depends on the final product. If it's a doofus we'll go with Winston, if it's a smarter pup Anthony.
