Kane pushed Lan away with an elbow and looked at him angrily. "Well excuse me for trying to survive! You don't have to say it like that!" Lan had been so good about Kane's past until now. Kane thought Lan understood. 'And I have never seen anyone like you before! He's almost all cat. When I first met you, you were almost all human but with ears and a tail." Kane folded his arms across his chest angrily.
As Kane pouted, Lyle had caught up with them. "What's this? All in a huff, little birdy?" He laughed with an almost carefree attitude towards them. "You were never so quick to temper before. Has a little vacation made you forget your place?" He smiled at the fallen angel smugly, as if he were so much better and above him. As Lucca's ropes grabbed him, Lyle just laughed some more. He opened his mouth wide and bit clean through them. "Heh heh. Your little lights show won't work on me, little birdy. Hell cats are suprisingly hardy."

Lan teared up when Kane pushed him. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't know how to say it. P-please, I love you and it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter...." he pleeded with Kane. His hands were trembling with sorrow.

Sighing, Kane grabbed Lan and pulled him in close. He hated it when Lan cried. "It's alright. I shouldn't have been so sensitive. Besides, I should be used to it by now."
In a taunting voice, the feral neko teased, "Ooo. Love birds is it? I'm suprised anyone will even take you anymore, broken wings."
"Shut up!" Kane yelled back, not letting go of Lan. 'Geez, can't we even get one moment of piece?'

Lan wiped his eyes and then turned his gaze towards Lyle. Anger and spite shown in Lan's eyes. He stood up straight and looked at the neko. "So you are a hellcat huh?" he commented more than asking. "That must mean you have excellent hearing and your ears are so sensitive you could here a pin drop a mile away. Well," Lan said with a gleam in his eyes as he opened his mouth "Listen to this!" he shouted as he let forth a screach while covering Kane's ears.

Lyle reeled as he was hit by Lan's sound burst. With a roar, he dropped to his knees and wait for Lan to stop. "I get it. I get it!" He growled. "Why do you attack me? I have not threthened any of you yet." Standing up, he said calmly, "Now, would you like to tell me why you tried to blast my ear drums out?"

Lan ceased his screech and held Kane. "Kane was scared of you, and he wouldn't be scared if not for a reason" he said as he pointed his sword at Lyle.

No longer amused, Lyle said to Lan, "He is afraid of what I was. I am different now." He picked at one of his claws as he continued, "I have been reformed, and I assure that I am no longer of any danger to you."
Looking at him doubtedly, Kane asked, "You wouldn't have anything to do with several attempts on our lives, would you?"

Lan nodded as Kane spoke. He then strode towards Lyle and once face to face with him, shifted into his cat form. "Tell us"

Smiling smugly at Lan, Lyle also transformed into a cat; which made him as big a two tiges. "Nice try kid, but I've got more buff. Anyway, like I said, I'm reformed. I have no more need of trash like the dead bird you've been dragging around," he said bitingly.

Lan hissed as Lyle spoke and in an instant, Lan's sword was pressing point firts against Lyle's throat. "You b***h" he hissed, "If you ever say anything like that about Kane again, the last thing you see will be your blood pools" Lan's eyes were filled with defensive hate.

Lyle stared at Lan with taunting eyes. "Go ahead. You'd just be saving me the trouble."
Stepping up to Lan and putting his hand on his shoulder, Kane said, "Don't Lan. If you do you'll be the one paying for it. If he doesn't know anything then he's not who we're looking for. Let's go."

Lan hands remained steady as he drew the sword back a little. Then he flicked his wrist making a cut along Lyle's cheek. As he shifted back to his human form he hissed "He may have fallen, but I caught him" then he walked away with Kane while giving him a brief peck.

Kane laughed as he heard Lan's final words. "I've never heard that one before."I'm sory," he said putting a hand on Lan's shoulder and still smiling, "but you have to admit that was a pretty corny line All the same," he said giving Lan a peck back, "it was sweet."

Lan blushed and giggled a little. "Yeah it was pretty corny" he said as he turned his head and brushed his lips with Kane's. "You are my angel. Fallen or not" he said with love in his voice. "Where do we go now?"

"Well," Kane said uncertainly, "this is where things get tricky. I have no idea where to even start looking for Master." Thinking, he let out reluctantly, "The only thing I could think of is going back to the place he would always meet me..." Kane sort of trailed off at the end and averted his eyes. "That's the only place I could htink of that would be of any help."
