I know! It's great. Male Kai doesn't get nearly enough attention, but this makes up for it a little.

Kaori is going to get jealous that Kai got to ride a centaur into battle before she did.

I'm not jealous... not at all. Okay! I am seriously jealous. Does he have to take every running gag away from me before he's happy? I wan't my flying unicorn damn it! ><; Setting that aside for now... One last update for today. Got the hair done somehow. I'd say I'm about 45% done if I throw in all the ideas I have planned for this. 80% otherwise.

Looking good there, Kai! 4laugh As for Faerie's focus, she's [almost] always got a familiar of sorts around her. She also has a fetish for sparkly items, too. xd
As for the Kai'd up centaur pic, that look on Kai's face is priceless! rofl

*needs to stop clicking random links at work* if anyone actually wanted to see what I do on the internet here they would just have this look on their face I think

"Ooh, a shiny stick!"
cat_lol Yeah, that was my first thought when I saw that... It looks really good. I like how the fur turned out.

Faerie said she liked shiny things so it all worked out. emotion_yatta The furry parts are my testing grounds for line less hair. Not quite there yet, but eventually my plan is to try not using lines at all. I'm working my way up to it in little steps.

Kits Rose "Ooh, a shiny stick!" cat_lol Yeah, that was my first thought when I saw that... Ditto rofl But yes... the composition as a whole with the background turned out really good, though with some things being lineless while other parts having the very bold black lines looks a bit off. If you have your lines on a separate layer, turning them another color would do a lot for giving it a more finalized look.

I was thinking about making the lines darker versions of the surrounding colors just so they aren't so distracting, but the layers all got flattened already so whether I like it or not, it's a done piece. I'll have to walk away with that lesson and try to bring it into my next piece especially by the nature of it I'll have to work without lines a lot of the time anyway.

I never flatten a piece when I'm "done" with it. I keep the layers intact because I might want to edit them later. There isn't really any need to flatten it out anyway.
