Fryma wrapped an arm around Moni, pulling him close. "It's okay, Moni. Everything will be fine." He petted th squirrel gently before giving Moni a full hug. "You're okay."

Moni smiled a little, though it was a weak one, and he curled up in his lap, the chipmunk scrambling up to cuddled against Moni's neck for more warmth, and Moni smiled, finding that it tickled a bit.

When he was sure Moni was okay, Fryma turned to Kori. "Kori, are you alright? You still look pretty scared."

Kori shook his head. "Grelda of the south... I've heard legends of her." he looked at Moni. "He's lucky she didn't get annoyed enough to freeze him permanently."

Fryma stood and pulled Kori to another room. "What do you mean 'he's lucky she didn't get annoyed enough to freeze him permanently'? Who is she? What have you heard of her?"

"She is exactly who she said she is... and is treated as a feared good in her domain. They give her tributes, and she freezes people who don't please her accordingly. For Moni, she wouldn't have just frozen him. She would have frozen him like the dagger, only without poison. It can't be melted, and Moni would never die or go numb. He would feel the constant cold for the rest of his existence and unable to move.

"Did you know this before she found the house?" Fryma felt an unfamiliar feeling in his chest, panic. If Kori knew who this spirit was before she had found them and couldn't even speak to tell them, they were in danger.

Kori shook his head. "I wasn't sure, but I knew it might be. I just felt it get get cooler, and it was cooling down quickly. Fire spirits are useless against an ice spirit." He explained, hugging himself.

Fryma nodded. "Are we in any more danger from her? Is Moni in any more danger from her?"

Kori looked out and could feel things warming up again. "Not unless she wants the forest. That's the only time she'd really come back." He told Fryma seriously.

Fryma nodded just as seriously. "Alright. I'm going to put some protection spells around here. If you have anything of your own you'd like to do, feel free to help. And don't forget you promised Maria another lesson in fire juggling today."

Kori nodded, taking a deep breath to calm down before healing Moni's frostbite and using a few protection incantations that he''d learned from various religions. When he finished, he waited for Maria to arrive.

When Maria arrived and they had left for their practice clearing, Fryma put up his own protections, muttering incantations for a good hour and a half. "There," he told Moni when he finished. "We should be pretty safe now."

Moni nodded, relieved while the chipmunk still refused to leave his side. Moni petted it absently, calming down a bit. THe woman had shaken him. She'd been fearsome and scary and her gifts were ghastly. He hoped he'd never meet her again.

In the clearing, Maria was running through her "running with fire" exercises. She stopped when she noticed Kori seemed unusually grim. "Kori, what's wrong? Are you okay?" She asked, coming up beside him cautiously.
