Listening for a moment, Kane said, "No, I don't hear any of the gaurds. They either already did the rounds or they're on the other side of the building. I think it's safe to go." Stealthily as he could, Kane continued down the hall. Peaking around the corner to check if the coast was clear, he motioned for the others to follow. Stopping outside a door he said, "Well, this is it." He hesitated before it with a look of uncertainty.

Lan moved forward and cautiously opened the door, keeping his sai behind his back. Only pushing it open a fraction, he flattened his back to the door. He looked at Kane "Should we?"

Kane was about to answer when a voice from in the room said, "Who's there?"
Gasping, Kane whispered worriedly to Lan, "He heard us!" Deciding to lessen the trouble by announcing himself before they were found, Kane walked into the room. "Canno," he said strongly, "I need to talk with you!"

Unwilling to let Kane face possible danger alone, Lan walked in after him and stood beside Kane. Casually he let his hand fall to his sword hilt while the other he made ready to grab the sai. "This is Canno" he asked Kane.

Glancing at Lan with a disarmed look on his face, Kane said, "Uh, yeah, that's him."
"What is the meaning of this?" Canno demanded angrily.
Turning once again to Canno, Kane said, "Strange things have been happening in the alleys and I want to know what you know." He unconsiously grabbed Lan's hand for support, for although he acted confident, he was shaking inside.

Lan gave the slightest blush when Kane grabbed his hand. His other hand gripped the hilt of his sai. Looking at Canno with disecting eyes, he tried to determine what he would do. "What do you have to do with it?"

"What do I have to do with what!?" Canno demanded. "Kane, you of all people should know how busy a man I am, and you should know that I have no time for games!"
"Canno, calm down," Kane reasoned. "Look, there have been some attampts on my life and I was trying to find out who was behind it. Would you know anything about it?"
"Of course not." Canno said adamently. "I have more important things to do. Besides," he added a little more humanely, "you should know that I wouldn't hurt you."

Looking Canno, Lan slowly eased his hand off of the sai hilt. He still held Kane's soft hand. "Would you have any idea who would go after him?"

Lucca sat in an indian style and sighed "I'll let tem take care of this, they're the figthers, I only get in if they have a booboo" The angel said with a little smirk

With a grunt, Canno leaned back in his chair. "I wouldn't know. I've been wrapped up in my work for weeks. Why would anyone want to hurt you, anyway?" He said raising an eyebrow at Kane.
Blushing and turning away, Kane did not answer. As he usually was, he did not want to mention is other ex-clients.

Blushing, Lan wrapped his arms around Kane. "That's what I wonder too. Why would anyone want to hurt him? I mean he hasn't done anything wrong. Unless they are crazy people who hate love like ours" he said defiantly.

"Well," Canno said sighing, "there are people out there who are like that." Thinking for a moment, he said, "I'm sorry that I can't help you find the person behind the attcks, but the least I can do is offer you shelter. If you guys stayed here no one would be able to get to you."
"Thank you," Kane said, emboldened by Lan's embrace, "but we really need to stop this. People will get hurt no matter what until we stop this. I'm sorry that we barged in like this," Kane appologized. "I hope that we didn't cause too much trouble. Oh, and thank you for your time."
"It's no problem," Canno said with the slightest hint of a smile at the corners of his lips.
Turning and leaving the room with Lan, Kane said to Lucca and Ryzil, "Let's go guys. Looks like we're still searching."

Lan gave a kind nod towards Canno and as a tease, gave him a wink with his arms around Kane. "So where now?"

"Well," Kane thought, "Canno was the eay one to find. The other two will be hard because I don't know where they live. Well, Lyle is on the street, but that's still a broad area to cover. Maybe we should just go walk around town?" Despite how casual the suggestion was, this was a very serious matter for Kane.

"Allright" Lan said as they left the compound. "As long as we are just walking around, do you know any fun places?" he asked as he playfully nipped at Kanes ear. It was hard for him to keep serious and not be infatuated with Kane.
