Work - I'll elaborate.
The click of the punch clock.
The hum of the radio battery charger.
The sounds of the vehicles and people entering and leaving the plant.
A cell phone ringing, presently.
The tick of the wall clock.
The faint hum of the computer fan.
A Gehring employee stopping in and saying goodbyr for the day.
A coworker soing sudoku on the clipboard.
His chair.
The keyboard.
Traffic going down 32 Mile Road.

Empty home--
The soft whirr of the computer as it calculates my every click and press
the sound of my refrigerator as it regulates its temperature
the animals outside as they greet and warn others off their territory
the slight fizz of my coke and rum on the edge of the table
the soft, almost inaudible noise of my A/C as it kicks in to keep the house nice and comfy.
