Gikishou gaped, trying to think of how to put it gently. "You know... how couples that get married and live happily love each other? It's... an earlier stage of that." He said, hoping that would end it. He was trying not to scare Kyo.

"I thought loving someone to the point where they're a huge part of one's life is past the married couple stage," Kyo said. "At least, that's what I've read." He then grew very worried. "Your friend said something about you getting killed. It has to do with me, right? Am I putting you in danger?"

GIkishou smiled reassuringly, shaking his head."Not that kind of 'kill'. He means that it would be.... difficult for me to cope... if you rejected me. Don't worry, I'm not in any physical danger." He told him.

(I can't help but think that this is the most beautiful post I've made so far. O_O wink
"So, you'll still get hurt?" Kyo asked, still worried. "I..." For some reason, he couldn't continue. Something seemed to hurt inside him, as if there was a war going on inside him.
I'm sorry...
"How can I put this?"
I'm not gay...
"You... you're hurt right now, because... well..."
...or at least I don't think so.
"It's just that..."
I don't want to hurt you.
"Why can't I say it?"
I think you're in love with me...
"I can't..."
But I can't love you like you love me.

Gikishou understood almost immediately, forcing a smile. "hey, it's okay. Like I said, I'm not pushing. We'll just stay friends then." He said, pretending to be all right. He could tell that Kani was angry with him and disappointed, but he also knew that Gikishou would be mad if he hurt Kyo. "I'll be right back." He said, heading to a restroom at the edge of the park, walking in. He sat down in one of the stalls and sighed, his face in his hands. "I am such an idiot."

Kyo watched, bewildered and sad, as Giki-san walked away. Guilt immediately ran through his body. He shouldn't have said anything. Things have already gotten worse than they should be. Now Giki-san is hurt and it's all Kyo's fault.

Kani wanted to hit the little boy upside the head for being such an idiot, but Joe held him back. "He's tough,he'll be okay... eventually." He told him, trying to reassure Kyo. Gikishou sighed and eventually stood, plastering on a false smile and coming back out. "Do you still want to continue the lesson, Kyo?" He asked curiously.

"Actually, maybe we should go home," Kyo said. "I'm sorry, but I don't really feel like continuing the lesson." He couldn't help but think that he was cruel. Cruel for hurting the teacher who protected him and loved him. This shouldn't be the thanks that Giki-san should get for caring about him.

GIkishou's false smile fell some, but he nodded."Well, guess I'm going home guys, have fun!" He said, getting on his board and helping Kyo on,hugging him as they rode home. Once they were home, he put up the board. "So... what do you wanna do now?"He asked, knowing that this was not the good kind of silence.

"I... I don't know, actually," Kyo replied, still feeling very guilty. He was sure he could still feel the hurt atmosphere around Giki-san, despite the smile he had on. What could possibly cheer him up? A pretend date, perhaps. Yeah, that would probably work.

Gikishou paused. "Hey... don't worry about me, alright?" He said, ruffling his hair some, though he felt a pang."It would've been harder on me if you'd said yes just because you knew I wouldn't take it well. Good relationships don't start on guilt."

"I know," Kyo said, "but I can't help but feel guilty for being so insensitive. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I didn't ask for you to fall in love with me." There was the saying 'No crying over spilt milk' but this was more serious than the 'spilt milk'.

GIkishou made his smile look reassuring."There's no easy way to reject someone, Kyo. Besides, yours was pretty gentle considering how I've seen others rejected." He said, getting out a bar of chocolate. he felt like such a girl for needing it right now, but it helped. "Want a bar?" He asked, getting another one in case Kyo said yes.

"Nah, I'm fine," Kyo said, still guilty. "I'm sorry." He wanted to cry, though he knew he had no reason to, or so he thought. It was actually strange. Why was he feeling this way? It was as if he threw away a piece of his own heart, his entire life. He didn't love Giki-san like that, right? Love him as a brother, yes, but as something more? It was impossible.

Gikishou saw how Kyo looked and set down his chocolate, hugging him. "You don't look fine." He said, holding him. "In fact, you look like you've been the one rejected instead of me."
