Xiao Lan was surprised to hear that Fianna's family and trainer were so connected to spirits. "A-aren't ghosts scary though...?" She asked timidly. She couldn't imagine working with dead spirits and being okay with that. The very idea was terrifying, just like falling several feet from a tree.
Thankfully Fianna assured them that her mother had caught her, though not without a probable reprimand for using the relic as a playground. "Aren't big trees meant for climbing though?" She asked, confused as to why climbing the ancient tree was such a big issue.
She had started to sing to fill in the silence, but she stopped when she heard something else chanting quietly along in odd, discordant tones. The rest of the group sensed it too, something lurking nearby, and before Xiao Lan could ask another question, she felt really sleepy all of a sudden, and her body moving not of it's own accord, quietly slipping away deeper into the forest.

Argo gave a pointed look at Raf as she questioned what exactly it was that he saw. "I don't know what I saw- it was what I heard. Some creepers up ahead trying to lure others in." he replied. It shouldn't matter what it looked like. That was proof enough for him that something lay ahead of them. At least Allure seemed to agree. Noah seemed to already eagerly jumping to battle, as well. The pelipper braced himself in case Allure was dragged into the fight as well, prepared to get up and out of the way. No enemy was going to get the drop on him.

Thanks to the braixen's efforts, the zoroark was able to calm down a bit. Not that it lasted all that long as they heard the telltale sounds of something up ahead, most likely a guardian. Daiki didn't have to even be told to be on his guard- he was already on it, fur bristling a bit.

Rafflesia gave a lazy sort of salute with her vine when Allure insisted they aught to stick close like sap. "Already done. All aboard the S.S. Nightmare express, please keep your arms, legs, wings, and tails on giant dragon at all times." She piped up, doing her best impression of a ship captain on the intercom. Her natural easy going timbre helped aid the impression without needing to try very hard.
Thankfully there was the promise of the next floor coming up on them soon, but with it was also another fight looming and they all knew it. Even Noah didn't seem enthused about it. Raf supposed it was actually possible for a spunky spitfire—er....spitwater?—like him to get tired of fighting sometimes too. To make things worse, there was an obvious trend of each guardian becoming progressively harder to battle. "Well hey, look on the bright side; it means we're getting closer to what's more important, right? The head nightmare itself. No offense, Lure." She chuckled, jokingly referring to her title of nightmare queen and how it was now being challenged.

Ammy was happy to think of how much fun it would be to meet Gail in the real world and show her a whole bunch of snacks. She even mentioned her own trainer, which the Glaceon took interest in. "Oooh, she's got long red hair and is really bubbly and energetic! I haven't known her for too long but I like her so far." she replied. It took her a moment to realize that they were coming up on something, her ears perked. Was someone going to try and steal her bone? A low growl rumbled in her throat at the thought, staring ahead.

Luna did not enjoy all the joking about Allure potentially sinking into the swamp, either by the muck that she was finally able to start climbing out of or some random sinkhole somewhere along their path. Even the nut puns tossed between Raf and Noah did little to ease the eevee's tensions. At least when Argo mentioned that something was up ahead, it gave something for Luna to actually be worried about than just some generic fears. The little eevee prepared to hop off Allure once they reached solid and hopefully clean ground so as to not get in anyone's way.

Regardless of whether they carefully picked their way along the paths or simply trudged through the muck, pokemon reaching the end of the swamp would see a definite path of grass and soggy earth form ahead of them. A short path, but one that led to a wide clearing surrounded by water, mud, and warped trees.
Pokemon will find that upon entering the clearing, the ground behind them sinks into the swamp, separating them from those that did not enter alongside them with deep water and foul mud. As each pokemon, either as a group or alone, takes their final step, they can see that the stairs leading to the next floor are guarded by hypno!
At first, only one or two can be seen, but as more pokemon reach the clearing and make for the stairs, dozens of hypno step out from beyond the mists and block their path. Unlike the guardians from before, these strange pokemon will not passively stand by and let these intruders have their way with them. Those that wish to progress must fight with caution, lest they succumb to Hypno's psychic powers!
With her feet now on solid ground, the dragon used a bit of foliage and tree bark they passed to rid her arms and legs of the sticky mud, it did work fairly well, and slowly but sure the dragon felt the weight of the muck leaving her body. However, this would-be pleasant feeling was being sullied by Argo explained what he'd heard, Allure narrowed her gaze at this news. Gazing back to Raf as the Ivysaur made a joke at Allure about her adopted title the dragon grinned. "Well, then it looks as though I'll have to make sure my crown stays put." She replied. "By ripping to shreds whatever dares try and claim it." Widening her grin she showed off her jagged haphazardly placed black teeth.
It would appear Allure's posed challenge was quickly coming to fruition as the group broke from the tree line into a clearing just as dank and muddy as the rest of the swamp, but just across the clearing one could see quite clearly the stairs leading up to the next level of this nightmare land. Though, an obstacle stood in their way, a large yellow Pokemon with a white fur-like collar. In it's hand it held a pendulum which it swayed back and forth with a hand held out. Allure stopped in her tracks. "The Nightmare Express has reached its stop." She voiced, her lighthearted tone all but gone. One of the many Hypno now overtaking the field turned towards Allure and the rest of their small group, a grin appearing over it's lips... it held up it's pendulum and began swaying it side to side like the first one they'd seen. It meant to hypnotize them. "To bad for you, I don't need my eyes to see." Allure growled, her stilted eyes fully shut, the dragon opened her maw only slightly, then with a sharp nod of her head she released an attack that created a wave of blueish purple energy to which formed a ring-like shape and quickly blasted into the Hypno, throwing it a bit off balance.

All this talk of food was starting to get to Daphnes. Was he really getting hungry in a dream? Well, it wouldn't be unbelievable to dream of food, but to actually be hungry it was odd. Even still, he too felt he could go for a masada, as Mogwai's way of explaining them actually made them sound real good, despite his aversion to fruits. He was glad though, to hear Mogwai also like meat, he certainly seemed like a omnivore type. Though it was sad to hear Chickpea couldn't eat meat since it made his stomach hurt. "Can't eat meat? You must be one of those plant eaters." Daphnes said, thinking more on this. He only knew of a few plant eaters, like Epona for example. All Daphnes ever saw her eat was grass. "Spicy is best, but too spicy does upset my stomach." He admitted. Despite his like of spicy foods, he did have to admit they kinda hurt a bit if he ate something too spicy. He recalled one time knocking a large bumpy red pepper from a stand to which he chomped up before the owner could reclaim their fallen produce, only for Daphnes to dive head first into a bucket filled with water... he swore he almost learned Fire Blast from that experience.
To hear they possibly had been at the same human event, kind of boggled Daphnes. Well, he had seen many people there with many different Pokemon. It was likely they'd walked right past one another and hadn't know it. He nodded his body to Chickpea's words. "I would love to go again myself." He admitted. Perhaps they might have improved the corn mazes to be a touch more challenging. Beyond that, talk of hugging ensued. Daphnes wasn't much for physical touch, but... he wouldn't mind a hug himself once this was all over.
But before one could get hug or be hugged, they had the matter of 'guardians' to deal with. As the small group of Mogwai, Daphnes, Chickpea and Dune made their way into a clearing, Daphnes made one last slip-n-slide effort to pull up alongside everyone else, only to find the earth was a bit more slippery that anticipated... or perhaps some unknown force simply pulled him in. Unable to stop the dragon watched as a yellow human-shaped figure appeared before them, holding up something in it's hand, a devious look in it's eyes. Was... was this the next guardian? Well with as many as there were... it only seemed logical, and since he was sliding directly into one of them the dragon allowed it to happen. Thankfully after colliding with the Hypno Daphnes came to a stop.

Piper's explanation was spot on... more or less. Radium eagerly nodded her head as the large bat dragon even went on to explain lemons. "I like lemons more, they're sour but sweet too." The mouse pipped in with a wide smile. She listened on when Piper began to explain that someone had made pie before with Limes. Though the conversation took quite a twist when Dotty suddenly exclaimed that she'd though cake was a lie. Radium titled her head trying to think of a response. "Cake is a lie?" No she swore she'd seen cake before... rather she swore she knew what cake was... was it a lie after all? Was what she saw not a cake? The mouse looked uncomfortable for a moment as she thought over this in her head. "I'm sure the humans called that thing they eat cake?" Well, perhaps that was just one more thing she'd have to add to the 'Ask Eline later' bullet list she was forming in her head.
Radium quickly lost herself in thought. Between the whole cake debauckle and other such conversations milling around the group of chatterboxes, Radium was finding more and more things she was curious about. "I hope we meet again as well." Radium piped in, giving the group a smile before getting herself lost in thought once more. Though when her new nickname echoed into her brain chamber the mouse glanced up, finding much of the group looking down at her. "Huh?" She squeaked, then glancing down at herself she noticed why everyone was so interested in her... "Oh.." The mud was quite deep wasn't it? "Erm... Oh-" Her ears perked as she stopped. She heard it too.. some sort of chanting growing louder and louder. The mouses' eyes met with some grassy land nearby, to which she quickly pulled herself up into... nearly half her body was now dipped in mud as if she was covered in chocolate, the mouse quickly rubbed off most of what she could within the grass, but while it was more solid it was still muddy.... so she ended up dirty regardless. Her pretty white coat sullied.... oh well, this was a dream after all? Maybe when they weren't so stressed and in nightmare land she could dream up a nice warm bath?
Whatever the case, her dirty fur wasn't an important subject to be stuck on. No, their attention was to be placed on an appearing threat... one of human shape and yellow. The large big-nosed Pokemon seemed to be saying something under it's breath, and it was making Dotty sleepy apparently. Was it trying to weaken their team? Oh heck no! Not on Radium's watch. She was going to be a super team player this time. Rushing up a nearby twisted tree, the mouse appeared once more on a branch that hung just above Piper's head. "Don't listen to the chanting dotty, they're trying to separate us." Radium warned, though she wasn't 100% sure about that, it seemed plausible for the given situation. Raising her stick in the air, the mouse began to wave it side to side. "We gotta stick so we don't lose track of one another, so use the flame of friendship." She announced.. as corny as it sounded. Unbeknownst to Radium however, the mouse had triggered one of her new attacks. As if her words weren't enough to spark the flames of passion (Which they weren't, but it's the thought that counts) Yellow and white sparkles began to flow from Radium's body and the stick itself, seemingly raining down upon her team below.

At some point, Luna had seemed to tune the rest of the group out as she just sat and watched the scenery go by. Occasionally her ear twitched or her tail flicked, but other than that the silvery eevee sat quiet and still. She didn't even bother to turn her head and look around when a small path that appeared opened into a fairly large clearing. Indeed, it wasn't until Allure had come to a halt that Luna made any real movement, hopping off the spiriake's back and onto the soft ground just before the larger pokemon commented about their ride reaching her stop. However, rather than bound about or attack anything, Luna just... started lazily walking away, apparently unaware of any reactions from the other pokemon she had been with.
It wouldn't be long before the others could figure out what, exactly, the eevee was more interested in than the ensuing battle. One of the hypno was crouched low with a hand outstretched and motioning the fluffy pokemon closer, the other holding its signature swinging pendulum. Indeed, Luna had heard the sound that Argo was referring to earlier, her keen ears picking it up a bit too easily for the little pokemon's good. The hoard of hypno and their chanting had gotten a head start on the young pokemon and by the time that group arrived Luna had already fallen under their spell.
Exactly what snapped the young eevee out of her enthrallment, it was hard to tell. It could have been Allure blasting one of the hypno, a convenient bubble of swamp gas bursting in front of the normal type, or something else entirely. But a few yards from one of the hypno, Luna was finally jolted out of the hypnotic spell she had been placed under. Stunned, the eevee blinked a few times as she tried to piece together where she was, but the small pokemon suddenly yelped when she realized she was way to close to something that was trying to put her back under its power. "AH! Freaky creep!" the silvery eevee yipped fearfully as she tried to run back to the rest of the group. Except... She had gotten too far from most of them, and some of the ground had sunk away to make her path back to the group more treacherous. She at least managed to find a path back to Rafflesia, though, and was quick to give her a power boost. Argo too, since he was a bird and thus didn't give a flying crap about paths.

Shade stared at Fianna, again to a perhaps unnerving extent, though they didn't seem aware of that. A pokemon, not inherently connected to spirits, that was so fascinated with the subject... That wasn't something they had heard of before. ".... I've never a met a non-adept pokemon that wanted to be a medium...." the murmured, almost thoughtfully, as if it wasn't entirely to be heard. It wasn't mumbled either, though, so... it was up to interpretation. Their ear twitched over and Shade glanced at Xiao Lan as she spoke in awe at Fianna's past adventures climbing a tree, but the conversation faded to Shade's peripheral as their focus shifted. Something was starting to really touch a nerve for them....
They turned, and focused, and unfortunately, the change didn't go unnoticed by their companions. Shade didn't hear the chanting -- perhaps because of the dream world's physics, or perhaps because they were too focused on something else. Their markings again began to glow and energy wafted around them as their ears turned, and their fur stiffened further. Shade's head turned slightly at Xiao Lan's question, and after a long silence, a quiet, rough response rumbled, "No." Shade lifted their head and glanced back. "Be careful." With that, they were gone. Something was tugging at their senses, and they darted forward, stopping to look around, before pushing ahead. They stopped as their glowing sight landed on a hypno glaring back at them, blocking the path forward, and Shade grew still-- before quickly lunging forward with a Knock Off attack.

☆ ☆【Piper tilted her head slightly as Dotty still seemed rather confused when she tried to explain limes, the Duosion asking if the fruits tasted like noodles. ”U-Um… Goodness, no, th-that would be a r-rather odd tasting l-lime if they were n-noodle flavored,” the Noivern quickly chipped in, chuckling a little under her breath at the idea, ”Th-They taste fruity and s-sour… I mean, it’d b-be easier to j-just show you but I d-don’t have any l-limes on me…” She smiled as Radium spoke up, the Pichu saying that she liked lemons more, explaining how they were both sour yet sweet at the same time. What had been a pleasant conversation about fruits and pie suddenly took a turn as Dotty seemed strangely alarmed at the mention of cake, saying how she thought it was a lie and asking if it actually did exist. ”Um…?” Piper wasn’t quite sure of what to say to something like that… Radium seemed equally confused as she asked if cake was a lie before insisting that she was sure the humans had called the thing they ate as such. ”Y-Yeah, cake actually is a r-real thing, I d-don’t really see why it w-wouldn’t be,” she suggested, shaking her head, ”I’ve s-seen Irene m-make cakes before, so I’m p-pretty sure it’s n-not a lie.” She had to wonder where Dotty had even gotten that idea in the first place, who in the world could possibly think that cake was a lie? The Noivern was absolutely certain that cake was a real thing, she had seen it and eaten it on many different occasions. Still, the idea of it being a lie was… very confusing to her.
Before she could think more on it, her attention was drawn towards the other conversations going on. Piper smiled as Ai answered Vivace’s question, mentioning that her head, back, and chin were her favorite places to be pet and explaining that technique was much more important. The Noivern went on to exposit a bit more about her habit to her companions, feeling heat pool into her cheeks as they offered supportive comments and suggested that she be proud. Still, much of that was with the help of her teammates, knowing they were in this together definitely made this rather stressful situation that much easier to deal with. Everyone wholeheartedly agreed on the proposal of them all meeting up again sometime when they returned to the real world, and hopefully it would be under much better circumstances. Even if there might not be much of a chance for her to see them again in spite of everyone’s collective optimism, Piper held onto a small kernel of hope that she would see them again sometime in the future. She had grown to think of all these other Pokemon as good friends, after all, if she had to search the whole world to find them again after this then she would willfully commit herself to such a monumental task. Or maybe their trainers might run into each other by some kind of divine will, whichever came first at least.
However, the atmosphere of goodwill that lingered over their group gradually waned as Piper noted with concern that the mud seemed to be growing deeper, which she wasn’t worried about but it would definitely be more of an issue for their much smaller teammates. Vivace was more or less covered since she was still on Ai’s back, but it was Radium that the Noivern was concerned about. She nodded as Dotty offered to carry the Pichu, who seemed to be a little lost in thought until she realized that everyone was looking at her and noticed how deep the mud was getting. It was then that the group became aware of strange sounds coming from close by, a low, deep sounding chanting echoing all around them from within the forest. Piper felt a sort of odd drowsiness come over her as she tuned into the odd song, but her immediate alarm upon seeing movement between the trees banished the heavy-lidded sensation as her body went into high alert mode. Dotty, however, seemed to be struggling a little, asking how it was possible for her to feel sleepy if this was actually the dream world. ”I th-think it’s actually s-some kind of… what’s it c-called again… h-hypnosis?” Piper offered with a hint of uncertainty, glancing towards Vivace as the Togepi waved her arms about randomly and suggesting Dotty do the same to help keep herself awake.
Piper glanced back towards Radium, sighing with relief as the mouse managed to find a fairly solid grassy patch nearby and pulled herself up onto it. Unfortunately, it came at the cost of dirtying her new white coat… hopefully whatever area they end up in next after they get out of this swamp would have clean water somewhere so they could wash off any excess mud. However, there were far more important matters that had to be attended to, as Piper could see a human-shaped figure slunk out of the trees and mist to block their way. She could make out yellow skin, a puffy white mane around its neck, and a large nose as the thing drew nearer, still keeping a distance from them while it chanted under its breath and swung what looked like a metal ring on a string in one hand like a pendulum. Hypno… That would explain the sudden drowsiness upon hearing that strange singing… The Noivern tried to focus on what was apparently their foe, but it was growing increasingly difficult to keep her eyes away from the hypnotic motion of its pendulum as it lazily swung to and fro.
Suddenly, Radium’s voice drew her attention, glancing up as the dirtied white Pichu clambered up a nearby tree and perched on a branch just above them. The mouse warned Dotty to not listen to the chanting, insisting that they were trying to separate them. Holding her flaming stick aloft and waving it around like a flag, Radium declared that they had to stick together and don’t lose track of each other, slipping in a line about the ‘flame of friendship’. As cheesy as it sounded, the Pichu’s rousing speech drew the Noivern out of her daze and instilled a spark of confidence. ”Y-Yeah! Let’s g-go, guys!” she called out, blinking momentarily as she noticed yellow and white sparks flying off of Radium and her stick and trickling down onto her and the others. However, instead of harming her, the sparks seemed to actually strengthen her! With a boost both to her confidence and her power, Piper definitely intended to make the most of it as she focused her sights on their enemy. ”Take this!” she shouted to the Hypno, opening her mouth as a swirl of blue and purple energies built up inside. Locking on to their target, she rapid-fired off a pair of pulsing blasts like a cannon that struck the big-nosed Pokemon dead-on with practiced precision. The Hypno hissed in anger and annoyance as it was knocked flat on its rear from the blasts, shaking it off as it recovered quickly and got back on its feet again, resuming its creepy chanting once more in an attempt to weaken them again.】☆ ☆

A new place… Mystery Dungeon Mogwai spies a new friend! Daphnes, Chickpea, Dune
☆ ☆【Mogwai smiled brightly as both Dune and Chickpea became increasingly fascinated by the idea of ‘masadas’, the Dunsparce remarking on how they sounded really good. The Bewear could agree to that for sure! But wow, all of this talk of food was starting to make him hungry… Was it possible to even feel hunger in a dream world? He wasn’t entirely sure on that, but as he talked more and more about masadas the Bewear grew increasingly aware of how long it’d been since he’d last had one himself. Well, from what he remembered, he wasn’t exactly in Alola anymore… so unless maybe he could get back there somehow or there was a shop in this new place that sold them, it seemed that he would have to hold off on having a masada again for a while. As disappointing as that sounded, Mogwai didn’t think on that for long as Chickpea asked the question of where one could get masadas from. ”Moooooost iiiiiiin Aaaaaalooooolaaaaaa,” the bear answered without hesitation, tilting his head slightly as a thought occurred to him, ”Chiiiiickpeeeeeaaaa Duuuuuune knooooow Aaaaaalooooolaaaaaa? Siiiiire Daaaaaaphneeeeees?” He wasn’t entirely sure if his companions even knew about Alola, even though people came to visit the island region pretty much all the time. It was a very popular place for people from other regions to visit and have fun, plus the beaches were beautiful! Still, he would be happy to try to provide further explanation about Alola if any of his comrades were to inquire further to the best of his ability, maybe they could go there with their trainers sometime too!
His attention went to Daphnes as the Shelgon input his answer, saying that he liked meat and spicy food. Oh man… meat sounded good too! Mogwai wasn’t quite as behind liking spicy food, however, though he didn’t really mind it so much as long as the heat was relatively mild. He much preferred sweet things if he was given a choice between any number of flavors. The Bewear’s ears flicked as Chickpea said that he couldn’t eat meat because it hurt his stomach, but he did like some spicy foods as well as long as they weren’t too hot. He supposed it made sense, with Chickpea being a Grass-type he’d be much more inclined to eat things like fruit rather than meat. Daphnes more or less confirmed his thoughts as well as the Shelgon suggested that the Chikorita must be a plant eater, adding that spicy was best but too much of it hurt his stomach. ”Mooooogwaaaaaiiii noooot liiiike toooo spiiiiicyyyyy, liiiiike ooooonlyyyyy liiiiiittle spiiiiice,” the Bewear added with a nod, ”Mooooogwaaaaaaiiii liiiiike sweeeeeeeet beeeeettteeeeeer.” As he went on to say that masadas could be spicy as well, Chickpea gasped in wonder at the revelation and immediately asked if it came in any other flavors. ”Yeeeeeees! Maaaaaanyyyyy flaaaaavooooors!” Mogwai answered back, reflecting the Chikorita’s enthusiasm as he grinned, ”Haaaaave soooouuur, dryyyyy… Mooooogwaaaaaiiii seeeeee meeeeeaaaat maaaaaa-saaaaadaaaaas tooooo!” Savory masadas weren’t quite as common if he recalled correctly, but there were some shops scattered about in Alola that did sell them with meat and cheese inside.
As the topic shifted to this ‘human thing’ that Dune, Chickpea, and Daphnes had gone to, the Dunsparce pointed out that the thing actually had been where he and Chickpea had met for the first time. Mogwai smiled as the Chikorita gasped in realization at the statement, going on to say that had probably been his favorite part. The both of them certainly seemed like very good friends, and the Bewear sincerely hoped that he could call Dune and Chickpea friends as well by the time they got out of this dream world. As Daphnes spoke about the corn maze he’d gone through, it seemed to be enough evidence for Chickpea to determine that the three of them had likely gone to the same thing. Oh wow! This human thing really sounded like a lot of fun! Mogwai felt a bit disappointed that he had missed out on something so exciting, which was further confirmed as Chickpea said that it was closed. However, the grass dinosaur spoke optimistically as he said they’d probably have another one and suggesting that the Bewear have his trainer take him. ”Yeeeees!” the bear agreed happily, tail wagging delightedly, ”Moooooogwaaaaaiiii looooove gooooo huuuuumaaaaaan thiiiiiing! Maaaaayyyybeeeee seeeeee Duuuuune Chiiiiiickpeeeeeaaaa! Siiiiiire Daaaaaaphneeeees toooooo!” The idea of going to such a thing alongside his companions in the real world sounded very exciting! He would definitely have to ask Aiden if he could take him to one of those things sometime, and maybe Aiden could meet Dune and Chickpea’s trainers too!
When Chickpea expressed his love of hugs, Mogwai’s excitement skyrocketed upon finding that he and his new companion shared something in common. However, it seemed the Chikorita’s hug would have to wait for now, the Bewear didn’t want to have to put Dune down into the mud again just for that. Not that he minded waiting, of course! Chickpea agreed as well, it seemed they had more important things to worry about as Mogwai noticed the same strange stone archway nearby like the one he and Daphnes had seen in the forest. As Chickpea ventured forward and called out to any enemies that might be hiding out, the Bewear’s ears twitched upon noticing a strange kind of singing that began filling the air around them. While he did enjoy music quite a bit, something about this song felt… very off, the Bewear’s fur standing on end as he felt there was something dangerous close by. Sudden movement out of the corner of his eye caught his attention, quickly glancing over in anticipation of it being some kind of devious being trying to get the jump on them. To his relief, though, it was actually Daphnes sliding through the mud to catch up with them, though to his surprise the Shelgon kept going and going until he zoomed past them and into a clearing of some kind. ”Siiiiiire Daaaaaaphneeeeees!” Mogwai called out, immediately picking up the pace to try and keep up with the Dragon-type as he kept on sliding with no sign of stopping. It was then that their apparently hidden foe suddenly made themselves known, a large yellow Pokemon with a large nose stepping out from between the trees and fog, some kind of shiny ring-thing dangling from its hand as it glared at the encroaching group.
With Dune in tow, the Bewear charged after Daphnes just as he collided with the Hypno and finally stopped sliding, the large-nosed Pokemon staggering back a little from the impact but recovering pretty quickly. The Hypno glowered balefully at the Shelgon, starting to reach for the Dragon-type now that it was well within range. However, it noticed a touch too late the large mass of pink and black fur barreling right for it until a giant, frigid fist collided with its face as Mogwai launched an Ice Punch right at it. The blow sent the Psychic-type flying back a bit, causing it to slide along the slippery mud and smack into a nearby tree. ”Siiiiire Daaaaaaphneeees oooookaaaaayyyyy?” Mogwai inquired concernedly, moving to place himself between his Shelgon companion and the Hypno to shield him, ”Duuuuuune tooooo?” In his haste to aid Daphnes, the Bewear had momentarily forgotten about the Dunsparce that was still in his arms, though his hold on Dune still remained as gentle as ever. Growling lowly upon noticing the Hypno getting back up, now sporting a large red welt atop its head from slamming into the tree, Mogwai stood stock still as he stared it down. Using his free paw, he moved it into place in a 'full hug' position around Dune so he would also be shielded from any attacks the guardian might try to throw at the bear, but was prepared to briefly move his paw out of the way in case the Dunsparce needed line of sight for his own attack.】☆ ☆

How did I come here? Mystery Dungeon Another lost soul? Xiao Lan, Beltigre, Shade, and Daiki
☆ ☆【As Fianna went to talk a bit more about her family in detail, primarily about how her mother wanted to be a spirit medium, the Braixen noticed the intent stare that Shade was giving her the whole time. Well, that was a little… creepy, though she didn’t falter in her explanation regardless. If anything, it was probably best to just take it as the Chengshen being quite interested in the topic at hand. She nodded as it spoke quietly in response, saying that it had never met a non-adept Pokemon that wanted to be a medium. ”It’s definitely not common among my kind, yeah. I mean, my mom was a Delphox, so she had more of that kind of inherent connection to things that Psychic Pokemon in general do than me,” she reciprocated with a thoughtful hum. She looked towards Xiao Lan as the little bat asked if ghosts were scary. ”Yeah, especially if your kind are naturally weak to their type… I suppose I could understand my mother’s fascination with spirits and such, and I’m sure she understood the risks she’d be taking with the whole spirit medium thing… But it’s definitely still pretty scary to think about,” she said with a nod, inwardly shivering a little at the thought. Working with ghosts was a very risky business, especially when dealing with particularly malevolent and powerful spirits… and just openly inviting them to yourself was… questionable at best. That was definitely part of why Fianna wasn’t quite as willing to follow in her mother’s footsteps, even though she was fairly knowledgeable about ghosts herself.
As she explained her venture with trying to climb the giant, thousand year old tree in Laverre, she was quick to assure them that she hadn’t gotten hurt from falling out of the tree as her mother had been there to catch her in the nick of time. Of course, the then young Fennekin had gotten an earful from her Delphox parent for trying to use such a valuable, historical relic as a playground. Fianna gave a soft laugh as Xiao Lan seemed confused, asking if big trees were meant for climbing. ”Of course they are, sweetheart~” she said with a warm smile, ”But the big tree in Laverre is a very special one. It’s a very old tree, like super old, and it’s also very important to the city and the people who live there.” It was a bit hard to really explain why such a big piece of history was so important to a young one like Xiao Lan, but hopefully that little bit was enough of a hint to get as much of the point across as she could without using a bunch of big words the Noibat might not understand. ”Maybe you’ll see it for yourself someday if you and your trainer ever end up in Kalos, Xiao Lan,” she suggested lightly, ”It’s definitely not hard to miss, and maybe you’ll be able to go aaaalllll the way up to the top of it. I’ll bet you’d be able to see everything from there~” The Braixen didn’t have any hard set plans on going back to visit Laverre again, especially after the incident… Still, maybe she might one of these days, especially if Phoenix had plans to go visit Kalos in the future.
While Xiao Lan launched into song to help stave off the silence, Fianna concentrated on helping Daiki until the Zoroark felt a little bit calmer than before. She was feeling pretty anxious too… especially knowing that things were only going to get harder and harder the further they went until they finally found where Darkrai was hiding out. That… and also that uncertainty of what yet lay ahead of them… She hoped Daiki would be able to handle himself against what would undoubtedly be a much tougher enemy, one that might be more capable of fighting back instead of simply trying to block their way like the Drifloon and Sableye from before had. Sure enough, she noticed Shade seemed quite on edge… and she began to notice it too as she tuned her ears to the air around them. She narrowed her eyes upon hearing the low murmuring chant, a hint of drowsiness starting to creep up on her before she shook it away. Hypnosis… that could only mean… Her feet carried her forward as Shade darted forth, catching sight of a figure just beyond where they stood between the trees as the source of the odd singing made itself known, but was still mostly obscured by the heavy fog. Her eyes darted over to glance at Xiao Lan to make sure the Noibat didn’t wander off, and it was a good thing she did as she caught sight of the little bat moving forward towards the trees ahead of them in a bit of a daze, as if she wasn’t fully in control of what she was doing. ”Xiao Lan!” Fianna called out in alarm, darting after the Noibat to catch her before she potentially wandered off and fell prey to what surely lay beyond.
Quickly finding her footing in spite of the thicker, deeper mud around this particular area, the Braixen caught up with the Noibat and Shade just in time as what was surely their next foe made itself entirely known to them. The yellow skin, big nose, and the pendulum it held in its hand was all she needed to see to know exactly was it was. ”Gotcha!” she exclaimed with relief, catching Xiao Lan in her arms just as Shade lashed out at the Hypno with a Knock Off attack, which was enough to interrupt its creepy hypnotic chanting as it was knocked back into a nearby tree from the blow. Taking the opportunity, the Braixen gently shook the Noibat to try and snap her out of it, speaking in a firm yet gentle tone, ”Stay with us, sweetheart… They’re trying to use their evil powers to beat us, we can’t let the bad guys win, okay?” Eyes narrowed, Fianna glared at the Hypno as it recovered from Shade’s strike and started to get back on its feet again. Tempting as it was to run up and punch it right in the face with an electrified fist, something told the Braixen that it’d probably be best to not get too close to it for now. Not to mention she was still holding Xiao Lan until she hopefully recovered from the hypnosis to be able to handle herself, and getting up close to a possibly dangerous enemy with the little Noibat in her hands was far from the best idea. Lifting her flaming branch high, the Braixen exhaled through the fire and unleashed a harsh, punishing blast of searing breath at the Hypno, not too worried about setting any of the trees alight since the wood was apparently much too damp for a fire to really catch. The Psychic-type hissed as its skin was scorched by the fire attack, holding up its arms in front of its face in a futile attempt to shield itself. Fianna stood stalwart as she stared down the Hypno to see what it would do, maintaining distance in case it might try to strike back at them. She’d be damned if she’d let it hurt Xiao Lan, even if it meant possibly taking the hit herself.】☆ ☆
