Bristain grabbed a bat and shot into the air. She watched for a bludger, as well as, looking at her competitors. She was more worried about beating Inigo, Verily was probably guaranteed a spot on the team, she was that good. Once a bludger came at her, Bris aimed and swung her bat, hoping she would do better than last year.

Asterisk listened diligently to Shayna before mounting with the rest. Her team member was Xavier, which she didn't have a problem with at all. Well, just a bit since she wasn't the underdog this time around. She nodded back at Xavier before she saw the quaffle be released. Eva and Xavier had went for the quaffle first, while Asterisk waited to see if the who would get it first. She trusted that team actually means team, although they were both trying out for chaser. The only real threat for Asterisk was Eva here. Gypsy was definitely going to be on the team and Xavier had enough experience to make his odds even higher. Eva and Asterisk on the other hand had close enough experience to make this a bit of a competition. No way was Asterisk going to go with being a reserved, especially if her parents are already against the entire Quidditch sport. If she was going to do something against her parents' wishes, she hoped not be sitting on the side lines. Well, she preferred to be on the actual team. If she did end up a reserve, she wouldn't throw a fit, just more loathing time she guessed.

spaceGypsy listened to Shayna with a thoughtful expression, still not completely convinced. It was true that it could help with the warm-up, but the way the pair of them were going about it seemed excessive, to the point of wasting energy that would be better spent on the actual try-outs. For practice, perhaps, she could see such efforts being useful, since if you got tired at practice, you wouldn't be punished for it. But, at tryouts, everything you did mattered, and if you wasted energy on the warm-up, you wouldn't have enough to prove your worth to the team. But, it was apparently a difference in philosophy, and hey, she wasn't captain, right? Rick had chosen Shayna for a reason. So, she simply nodded and smiled. When the older girl gave her orders, Gypsy took off. She wasn't quite sure why she'd been put on a team with the first year since it seemed like that was the player she most needed to watch... except maybe it was so that she could actively hang back a bit and see how the girl did?
spaceGypsy watched as Xavier went for the Quaffle, and shot up to hopefully manage to get it first. If she did, she'd just pass it to Eva. If not... well, that just meant the kid could try stealing from Xavier. She snicked at the thought. Good luck with that.

spaceGypsy smiled as she came away with the ball, feeling the smallest little surge of pride. mostly because last year he'd flown circles around her. As per her decision, as soon as she had the ball, she turned to the first year. "Hey, catch!" she called out, throwing the ball.

He waited, looking for another bludger, enjoying his time during tryouts. He found another bludger quickly, and went to go hit it. He wanted to get another hit on the target, which lead him to be a little nervous, but he was sure he could get another. He had to be confident or he would end up hitting himself.
Unfortunately, he missed, which much to his displeasure, left him a little disappointed, but he would get another shot at it. He stayed with one hit for now. But he would be trying his hardest for another.
