-making sure the boxes were sitting flat on the trunks bottom, he closes the trunk and walks back to the bar, opening the doors in time to see dame struggling with some packages of her own. Walking over, he barely caught what she said-

Where's the fun in that if I have to carry my own gifts as well as open them? rolleyes

-picking them up, he starts back towards the double doors to load them in the back seat, looking to see if dame was following-

*pulled out of her thoughts, she looked at dame for a minute, what she said finally registering. Before she could catch herself, she glared at dame then looked off to the side, keeping her voice leveled*

Don't worry about me dame, I'm fine.

*still looking the other way, she waited for dame to leave*

-after placing his gifts in the back seat, he pushes the front passenger seat back in place, wondering what was taking dame so long. He walked hurriedly to the double doors sticking his head in-

dame? You coming or what?

-nodding at Icy before leaving, Flame leads dame out the door and to the car, ushering her in-

Icy's a grown woman, she will be fine. The last thing she wants or needs is sympathy from either of us. That would only work to push her away further than she's already gotten. Solitude is nothing new to her, whether or not she wants it or likes it.

-closes her door once she's in and walks around to the driver side, getting in and turning the car on. After adjusting the heat, he looked over at dame, worry still etched in her face-

Feeling sorry for her isn't going to do you or her any good. And if she even suspected as such, she'd be more put off with you than she already is. Now come on, we got some gift exchanging and celebrating to do.

-puts his car in gear and drives off, heading for his residence-

*watching the couple leave out the corner of her eye, she finally faces foward, sighing. Sipping her wine, she stands up straight, stretching and looking at the clock behind her. Glass in hand, she grabs the bottle she wine came from and headed into the office, adjusting her items so she could do the security measures. Once downstairs, she unlocked her door and went inside, finding Lo still asleep. Deciding to leave the leopard be, she grabbed her winter white fur wrap and secured it around her body, refilling her glass afterwards. Opening her back door, she made sure it was closed securely behind her.

She took off to her left, heading for the sidewalk and watching the sky, smiling as she saw the faint lights glaring through the night. A few blocks up and she might just be able to catch the fireworks after all. She paused however, seeing as she had just refilled her wine glass and was outside of the bar. Not wanting to turn around just for a to-go cup and not wanting to go to jail for New Years, she stayed in the parking structure and listened to the delayed booming of the fireworks going off, seeing the multicolored flashes burst and fly throughout the night sky*

*open the rest room door*

This is NOT how I want to ring in the New Year, face first in the toilet.
I'm glad that is over though, I feel much better.
