Lyle did not appreciate being hit. Even her parents never did this. She glared at her aunt, then at the man. A low growl sound started coming from her. She also didn't like the way they were treating Skye, even if he was a hunter. This was it, all this had pushed her over the edge and she just lost her temper. "NO! I wont hold my tongue! I don't care what I do, because what you are doing in wrong! You have no right to treat us this way. Skye is different! Why can't you all see that? He would never harm me! And if it comes down to it, I would gladly sacrifice my life to make sure he is safe." Lyle couldn't help herself from raising her voice. She wanted to make sure they had heard her clearly. She continued to stand there, her cheeks red from where she was hit.

"I have every right you insolent brat. Your parents were right to send you here, you might actually learn something." He straightened himself before he continued talking. "You aren't the first little pup who thought they could change the world you know. Others have tried to 'change' things..." He used air quotes for the ridiculous thought. "And they all met a very sad death. And that was either before or after the same hunters slaughtered whole families and at one time a whole pack. This thing is not alone. You may have even seen one of its friends. Others that would gladly skin us like animals. So trust in this girl, he is no better then any other lousy human. And for his nature should be killed on the spot." He looked to the boys that sat on either side of him. In moments they flanked the Skye. "Now I can give you the option to do away with this little boy. Maybe redeem yourself. Or we can let the boys here take care of it. Up to you."

Skye didn't like this at all. He was ready to take off when the 'boys' reached for him. He dived right into Lyle's bag and fished out his knife. He didn't have time to think before he swung it at one of them. Slashing the guys arm in the process. He knew in hand to hand he was more then screwed and that his knife wouldn't help much. He would kill for one of his guns right now. He didn't want to really hurt anyone but right now he was more concerned with his own life, and of Lyle's.

Hearing him talk more was only making her anger rise. She didn't care about what he said. She knew others had failed at what she was trying to do, but she was confident that it would be different this time. Lyle watched his every moment and hated how he was using air quotes. This was ridiculous, it was all ridiculous. Before she could even react, some of the other members were signaled to go after Skye. She stood there and watched as he quickly ducked for the knife and defended himself. Her and her aunt both gasped when they saw blood coming from one of the boys' arm. Instinctively, she stepped to Skye's side to help defend him more. "And because of some of us, most humans have become aware of our presence. Most even become hunters since most of us can't learn to change our ways!" She yelled, her hands turning into fists.

He told the boys to back off a moment. "Don't be stupid Maura. You'd choose the toy over your pack, over family. You walk down this path and trust me there is no coming back." He hoped she understood the choice he was giving her.

Skye flicked his eyes to each of them. He didn't know what was going to happen in the next few moments but knew it wouldn't be good no mater what happened.

She took in a deep breath before slowly exhaling. "I would like to stay with my family, but I would also like for Skye to be able to leave. I don't want any harm to come to him. I know he wont tell anyone about us. I want him safe and alive." Lyle said calmly, trying to reason with the man. She was hoping that Skye would be able to leave safely, because really, she didn't want to turn her back on either him or her pack.

He caught the pleading look from Maura's aunt and nodded. "Fine. He gets the one free pass. Just this one." He turned his attention to Skye now. "I even hear a whisper that your back around here again, and there will be no saving you hunter. You will be gutted and put up as a warning. Do you got that?" He pointed the question at both of them. He signaled for the boys to back off and let Skye have a clear path to the door. At the same time blocking Maura from being able to leave with him.

Skye nodded. He knew that the alpha was serious, he also figured it was going to be hard for Lyle to let it go. It wasn't easy for him. He hesitated on backing out of the house. He didn't want to leave her here, he wanted to know that they could still meet later, he wanted to know she would be okay. But slowly he backed towards the door.

Lyle felt like she had died a little on the inside when her path was blocked from Skye. Fighting back tears, she had watched him leave. This was hard, but she knew that it had to be done in order to make sure that Skye was safe. She would have been devastated if anything bad would have happened to him. Lyle loved him with all her being, but she knew she had to give him a safe get away. She stayed silent as she watched him back out of the house slowly. She thought about meeting him later, but it was going to be risky getting out of the house with all these other wolves around. Her eyes became watery as she mouthed the words 'I love you' to him.

The pit of his stomach hurt as he watched her moth those words. He wanted to say them back, but not with every eye on him. He gave her a look that he hoped said more to her then he could ever put in words and then slipped out the front door. From here he took of running in a sprint. His goal was to get as far as he could as fast as humanly possible. When he reached the open dark field of the park he collapsed to his hands and knees gasping for air. His adrenaline left him shaky and alert to any sound, no matter how small. He was expecting to be followed, hunted down himself. But after a few minutes he figured no one was following him. But still be could seem to move.

After watching him leave, a small tear fell down her cheek. She understood the look that he had given her, and it hurt her so badly on the inside. She was really hoping that she could sneak out of her room later tonight, but she still wasn't sure how long these other wolves would be around.

After a moment to regather themselves, the others starting acting as if nothing had happened. Lyle was given a pointed look by the elder and then was sent to her room by her aunt. Auntie Abby began cleaning what ever she could and the elder sat at the table and became lost in deep thought.

Lyle grabbed her purse and went to her room. As soon as closed her door she fell to the ground crying silently. She had never thought that that would have happened. She wasn't expecting one of the elders or other wolves to be here for dinner. She had trusted her aunt, and now, couldn't trust her anymore. Lyle was about ready to run away, but that would mean she would have to betray her pack and go rogue. It was a scary thought for her, but crying on the floor helped her make up her decision. Her pack was the most important thing in her life, but she was ready to lay down her life for Skye. Wiping those tears away from her eyes, she stood up and locked her door. After locking it, she threw her purse on the bed and went straight to her closet. There, she grabbed her back pack and began shoving clothes into it. As soon as she was done with that she walked over to her sliding doors. She looked over her shoulder to think of what else she would need, but she decided that there was nothing more she needed. She left her phone on her bed, thinking that there was no use for that if they could easily use the satellite tracking for that. Sighing softly, she turned and slipped on of the doors and ran through the woods.

Skye finally stood and walked over to the swings. It was the closest place to sit. He was trying to catch his breath and figure out the next move. He knew not to chance going back there and didn't expect Lyle to leave her pack and doubted she would show up at the park tonight. But something told him not to go back to the hotel just yet. He still needed to make the tough choice of staying or moving to a different town to bag a wolf. At the moment he wouldn't mind killing that elder who crashed the dinner. He flexed his hand, hissing in pain. He thought about going to a clink or something to get it fixed up. But he didn't know where one was. And if it came to it, he could set the thing himself. But in any case he didn't want to wait to long. He stood up and started to head back towards his hotel, thinking of stopping off at a convenient store on the way.

She made her way towards the park, the one place that Skye and her could meet up no matter what. She picked up the pace hoping to find him there. Once she got there, she stopped to catch her breath and look around for him. Her heart sank when she didn't see him. Lyle was about to start crying again but stopped herself as soon as she caught the familiar scent of Skye. A small smile curved her lips as she felt hope again. The scent was strong and fresh, meaning that he had just left. Deciding to follow the scent, Lyle began walking at a fast pace. In a matter of seconds she had found him. Being just a few feet behind him made her smile even more. "Hey, you didn't wait long enough." She said as she stopped walking, hoping he would stop and turn around.

Skye stopped and turned. A large smiled broke out on his face. "I didn't think you were coming." He took a few big steps towards her and kissed her hard. He couldn't believe he was doing, but the moment just took him.

Lyle smiled into the kiss. It made her so happy that he had stopped and turned around. She broke away from the kiss and smiled at him even more. "Don't be silly, I wouldn't have allowed myself to let you go that easily. I know I'm turning my back on my own kind, but I realized you are far more important." She said softly, almost tearing at the thought of completely losing him.

"You shouldn't have to make this choice. I don't want you to loose your family." Skye brushed hair off her face and tucked it behind her ear. He knew this was hard on her, she was supposed to be in a pack. It was her kinds mentality. Even he needed a group from time to time. "I wouldn't hold it against you if you went back home."

Lyle smiled and slightly shook her head. "There you go, being silly again. The moment I left that house, I wasn't expecting to go back. Besides, once they've found out I'm gone the hunt it on. I would rather spend the rest of my life with you than some mindless follower." She said, grabbing his hand after he had tucked some of her hair behind he ear.
