i ate balut. lots of it.

My *estranged* uncle and his friends loved to eat balut while drinking beer. To me, balut doesn't look too appetizing burning_eyes

Ah balut. I'm Filipino, but I never liked balut either. All I ate was the yellow stuff. (What do you call that?)

How about raw octopus? xD It was on a sushi.

Balut! Ahh! The memories!
For me...
I can't stand bitter melon!
It reminds me of Roald Dahl's description of snozzcumbers..
and snail's which were surprisingly good!

The yellow stuff is the yolk...or the embryo. I'm not sure sweatdrop

I guess many Asian countries eat balut. My uncle is Vietnamese and he enjoys it.

I ate a few Baluts in Vietnam last year - though the animal had not grown significantly enough for me to be grossed out, since all I saw was a yolk with other stuff surrounding it.

I also ate some Shark meat in Vietnam, but some of my family reckon it was fake or something.
When we were eating the shark however, a waitress brang out a monkey for some guy to observe and see whether it's good enough for him (in tastiness).

Other than that, my six weeks was spent with variations of fried rice, KFC, Pringles and home food.

The craziest thing I`ve eaten is BALUT!! I didnt like the way it feels, the texture!!
You know I was going to say that.

For those of you who don't know what balot is, it is a Filipino food involving a hard-boiled egg...with the chicken fetus still inside.

It may seem like something to feel squeamish about, but trust me, it's pretty much like eating chicken and eggs.

Aside from that, the craziest for me might have been sea cucumber sweatdrop ...

they have a similar dish in vietnam
except its usually a duck instead of a chicken
its called: chung vit lon
but in america, with the lack of ducks, they are usually chickens
so they are called: chung ga lon
thats not the wierdest thing ive eaten tho
actually, thats the wierdest thing, im ok wit it tho
