NEW question!
===

Gene Roddenberry once floated an idea for another tv series.

Just as "Mork and Mindy" did with "Happy Days",
he introduced it with an episode of Classic Star Trek.

The Enterprise went back to the 20th century again, and had to undo
accidentally changing the timeline (or stopping from interfering).

The new show involved a human, trained off-earth, and charged with
defending the proper timeline on earth.

A) What was the episode called? (It was the same as the possible series.)

B) What was the human agent's name?

C) What was his assistant?

Well, you got "C" correct, his assistant was a black cat.
Or she appeared as a black cat most of the time.

"B" is, sadly, not in the ballpark.
(I checked to see if it was an allowable answer, but the character
is identified by a different name all over the place.

Answer any of the following questions,
or answer them all.

A) There's a Ferengi Rule of Acquisition: "Never trust a man in a
better suit than you." What number rule is that?

B) There's a "captain's eyes only" secure code in Starfleet.
What number code is that?

C) What's considered the top safe speed of the Runabouts?

D) What's the standard crew complement of the DEFIANT-class
warships?
[Corrected the question after double-checking.]
=========

No, these are not "impossible to answer" for the average Trekkie. smile
If one of you answers them all without cheating, you'll be able to
explain why I expected someone besides me to know these PRECISE
answers.

Reposting the corrected question....still anybody's game....

C) Runbabout's top speed is between Warp 4 and Warp 6. I'm pretty sure of that fact. It doesn't have the same fuel capacity as other, larger starships, so it can't reach the same speeds.

D) the DEFIANT-Class has about a crew compliment of 35 if I'm not mistaken.

As for the other two parts, I cant' remember the answers, it's been so long.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 28, 2004 10:09 pm
You were correct when you originally said the runabouts
(Danube class) have a safe speed between Warp 4 and Warp 5.

There is a specific answer, though.

I'm actually a little surprised you didn't rattle off the answers,
meaning you figured out what these "unrelated" "impossible"
questions have in common.

Yeah, not seeing it. It's been awhile since I've seen TNG and DS9 episodes.

Correct on all counts!

Yes, Isis seemed to be a black cat who kept turning into the
Lee Meriweather Catwoman or something like that.

Rebecca Lincoln, you may have noticed, was played by a young
Teri Garr. She played, basically, a temp who walked into work one
day and discovered a guy talking about space and the future running
her office. (Rough day at work.) I only recognized her by watching
for her nose-people's faces can age, but noses tend to stay the same
(unless they get surgery.)

Ok, I'll kill this one a few hours early.

A) 47.
B) 47.
C) 4.7
D) 47.

===========
These are a few examples of the "47s" that appear ALL OVER Star
Trek.

One writer started it. He said his physics professor said that
ultimately, all numbers equalled 47.

So, he, and others picking up the joke, have been sprinkling
little occurrences of 47 in the background of everything.

Watch how often it comes up.

When a rescue operation is in progress, they will either try to rescue
47 people, succeed in rescuing 47 people, or 47 people won't make
it out alive.

And so on.

If I played the Star Trek drinking game, I would add
"take one drink whenever the number 47 comes up."

Most subtle use of 47:
"...deck 4?" "SEVEN."
Miles and Julian in one exchange.

Dude! Roddenberry got it all wrong! The answer isn't forty-seven. It's forty-two. Everyone knows that! *laughs at her somewhat off-topic remark*

I think Berman once said 47 was "42 adjusted for inflation".
