No, I'm sorry, but I don't think goth is a religion. Just like everyon else has said, it's a music scene, it's a mindset, it's a fashion, but it is not a religion.

Isobel Bellamy Seronia did you also know that the Goths were a kind of people back when Rome was still a super power? xp   *directs to rant* Yups, that they were, a relatively peaceful people that only took up arms when their settlements were endangered. Farmers by nature they'd elect a leader for only their time of crisis. During one prolonged Roman attack the then Goth leader liked his taste of power and tried to make it a permanent thing. He was promptly killed for getting too up himself. Also, they did not sack Rome. Absolute codswallop. *ahem* Izzie likes history. *shrugs* I didn't make the icon. biggrin I like history also, but we've been stuck on American History for the longest fukin' time. I'm getting rather annoyed xp

verrycherryblood yes it is and i am proud for it to be my religion you're an idiot. a religion needs a god or gods, as well as a cult built around it. goth is an aesthetic, a mindset, and an artful musical genre, not a religion.

@the author of the thread: I'm sorry, but you seem a bit confused. goth is not a religion as many others have said. a music genre, subculture, mindset: yes, but it doens't dictate a religious belief system. there are many types of goth: christian, wiccan, muslim, buddhist, taoist, catholics, etc.
As for the gothc bible. it's a book about the subculture, not a set of rules and beliefs for the people invovled stare
I suggest you read up more on this.......

gothic is not a religoin unless you look at it as a pagan religion which isn't really but if you must call it somthign its a life style of a pagan barbaric society of the roman times, and some of their ideals got transformed and protrayed in art during the pre renesance because it was darker the dang near barbaric peoples flocked to it because it was part of their own heritage, again later on in the early 80s another group of people trying to outcast themselves from society called them selfs gothic because of their dark exterior, and many of them started turnign to froms of wicca which is in turn a pagan religion which again goes back to the pagan barbarism of hte original gothic peoples
