Do people in America beat you up and make you do school for them if you are Asian and smart? I wanted to study in America, but I don't want to be hurt. sweatdrop

People ask if they can copy me all the time.
Just say no, if they press you any further..report it.
In my school you get detention if you get caught copying.

I usually get A's & B's but I never get yelled at for B's. If I do get yelled at,it's because my mom sees a paper that's below a C and asks why I didnt write the correct answers on there so that I would know what I did wrong. rolleyes She's knows that I suck at math and is always wondering how I get A's in that class sometimes. 3nodding

I get A's.
I can get several failing grades and still get A's.
There isn't a point in killing myself just because I'm not the smartest asian or person in the class.

Well, beating kids are illegal in America, but I never report my dad because he's our family's financial support.

im kinda stupid, but not a lot. im crap at maths. i get yelled for getting bad marks in my report. xp

I have no common sense whatsoever and take forever to study. Other kids think I'm smart, but I'm actually quite dumb and have to work hard all the time in order to achieve the grades that I get.

Well...of course they should get
mad about the C...and Bs...eh, they're okay.


My parents are really picky about my grades.
I usually make straight As, or maybe one or two
high Bs here or there. C;

I tell people that my grad school aspiration is a MAT, not MIT.

(MAT = Master of the Arts of Teaching).

Just because I'm a future teacher trying for an MAT doesn't mean I'm dumber than the future engineer who is going to MIT. It means that I have a different type of smartness than she is.

Anyone who calls you "dumb" hasn't seen the entire side of you. Everyone's smart in different ways. Schools, though, only value one type of smartness. That's why people will different types of smartness are mislabeled as "dumb".

Im asian but my parents aren't strict with grades, but they prohibit me from coming home late or having a sleepover... etc.

its okay i guess

i can only make a's in english. no matter how much i study. i'll still forget somehow. so after a while, my parents got used to my b's in alll of my other classes....

My parents don't get angry at me when I get a A- or B but they do poke fun at me for it. They joke "WHY didn't you get a 100 on this?" I motivate myself to get good grades for the most part.
