I disagree - the futher you go into the past, the more society is dominated by a single religion, until a certain point, then it reverts to our various celtic ones and such.

Sure, it was dominated more and more by a single religion, but more people were religious.

I'm starting to see religion as something more of a dictatorship, if you choose not to believe in God you go to hell. All religions are convinced that they are the right one, and that those who don't follow their ways or believe in another God will go to hell. Christians reguarly tell me that I'm going to go to hell and so are all my homosexual friends.

Yet although I'm not a christian I follow the ten commandments, does that mean I shall still go to hell? (This is of course if there is a hell - however I think that there is something but that's a completly different topic.)

I find it hard to believe that if there is a God, Goddess or higher being then they will condem people to damnation for people having free will.

Surely not the first one? The one that says there is only one god, etcetera...

I thought it said only to worship one god...I take that one a step further, and worship no-one

I'm not quite sure that qualifies as obeying it.

Okay I'll rephrase that to some of the ten commandments like "Thou shalt not steal" and all that stuff. I'll go find my mums bible later and quote them all if you want stare .
