honsou3 Invictus_88 honsou3 Mr. Bono Vox honsou3 I know the Scottish national anthem the flower of Scotland, and did you know that rule Britania was written by two Scots? There is no such thing as the 'Scottish national anthem'. There exists only one national anthem and that is God save the Queen. It is the national anthem of the UK. full stop. stare No God save the Queen is the English national anthem. Go to any part of the UK that isn't England and you will be told the same thing. Then you'd be told wrong, because it's the British national anthem not an English one.Even though its only sung by the English. Again, wrong. and unfortunatly spoken like a true Scottish nationalist. I have been to various events in Scotland and in Wales, at such events the national anthem, God save the Queen is the song that is played and sung. I am an Ulsterman, and I can ASSURE you that we DO sing the national anthem at EVERY chance we have.

Not at sports matches, naturally, because they need to be distinct from the other British nations but it is sung in other contexts.
It's not just the English national anthem. And just how many Welsh, Scottish, Irish have you heard sing it? to them singing God save the Queen is worse than death. Again lad, you fail the backside-elbow test. <--- this is a backside That is an elbow ---> As I sadi before I have heard and seen many Welsh and Scottish people sing our national anthem. I have seen thousands of Ulstermen sing it as well, due to the fact I used to live there.

honsou3 The Welsh and Scots you claim to have seen sing it most likey are English that moved to Wales/Scotland Nope. The Welsh ones were members of various male voice choirs from all over Wales. We sang the national anthem after we finished our practice The Scottish were various people in the likes of Glasgow, Air, Irvin singing it at various funtions to do with the orange order. I have also seen and heard them sing over in Northern Ireland as many came over and visited Northern Ireland on many occations. All involved where definatly from Wales and Scotland. pwnd.

I am sick, sore and tired of the Welsh, Scots and English who talk only of Wales, England and Scotland. I am disgusted at the Scots and their devious behaviour towards the English, I am sick of the English and the despicable behaviour towards the Welsh. And I'm sick of Welsh people who come and live in England and do nothing but talk about Wales. What is wrong with you? Lose the damned grudge. Can you not see you are ripping our great nation apart? Can you not see the damage it is causing to the fabric of our society? We are one nation under one flag and one sovereign queen. Remember that. You are not Welsh first then British second; you are not Scottish first and non-British altogether, you are not English first and British second. You are British first and Scottish, Welsh, English or Northern Irish second. Our first loyalty should always be to the Queen and to the United Kingdom, not just to one part of it. We must stand together; this is not about being cosy friends and having a great union, No. It is about survival, survival of the United Kingdom and of the rights you and I both hold dear to our hearts. We have lost our way and are fighting amongst one another while the enemy sits and waits for our nation to crumble and fall around us. Our cause and purpose has long since disappeared and the people no longer trust their government, let alone each other. Since the Second World War there has been a total lack of loyalty and sense of direction. Everyone has gone their own way, not caring for one another, not standing up for one another. We are imploding and hurtling rapidly to the ground, will you be able to withstand the impact? We must remind ourselves of who we are, what we stand for and why we stand for it. We are British. We stand for secular values, for democracy and for freedom. we do so because we believe in the nation and the people and in the rights accorded to us. Unite! Unite before it is too late. Our free, civil and religious liberty we must maintain. Unite and stand or divide and fall.

I say, Housou. Two things, the first being a request that you take the post of resident Scot Ice_Illusion into account. Second to that though, are you a supporter of Scottish independence?

Foetus In Fetu Okay, you know what, they really do need to update the national anthem and bring it in line with the younger generation. It'll help instill patriotism in them at a young age as well as the willingness, even desire, to die for their country, and all that good stuff. This is what I propose: Superman Save the Queen. Am I right? Am I right? Bah. Batman saves the Queen.

Wales, yes we invaded. Ireland, yes, we invaded. Scotland, our Queen dies so your king came over, then your parliament voted to dissolve itself.
Besides, that was centuries ago, we are one nation now.

honsou3 Mr. Bono Vox at various funtions to do with the orange order. They were only singing it because it was a do. You will never find people singing it on their own free will. Fuctions such as orange parades things such as that, church services and of course parties. These people are not forced to do so and to suggest that that is the case is not only wrong but foolish and shows your rantings for what they are; idiotic and grasping in a most undignified manner.

They talk of their country because it is their country they are Welsh, Scottish before British those countries didn't join England out of choice but because the English bastards made them. Their country is The United Kingdom. This title is offically recognised not only by our own political system, (being that the government is the government of the United Kingdom) but also by various international institutions such as the EU and the UN. Time to lose the grudge. It has been over 200 years since Ireland joined the Union, 400 since the first Union was formed. It is time for Scottish nationalists to grow up and realise they wouldn't be able to survive alone. North Sea oil is basically finished and Scotland is heavily subsidised by the rest of the Kingdom. Wales couldn't go it alone either and espeically so after the EU money dries up in 2008. Northern Ireland barely has an economy due to 35 years of hate and murder by Sinn Fein/IRA. Face facts. We all don't stand a chance going it alone. Face facts. The majority of people in the UK wish to remain within the Union. Quote: You will never find people singing it on their own free will.
God save our gracious Queen, Long live our noble Queen, God save the Queen! Send her victorious, Happy and Glorious, Long to reign over us; God save the Queen!
O Lord our God arise, Scatter her enemies And make them fall; Confound their politics, Frustrate their knavish tricks, On Thee our hopes we fix, Oh, save us all!
Thy choicest gifts in store On her be pleased to pour; Long may she reign; May she defend our laws, And ever give us cause To sing with heart and voice, God save the Queen!
Not in this land alone, But be God's mercies known, From shore to shore! Lord make the nations see, That men should brothers be, And form one family, The wide world over
From every latent foe, From the assassins blow, God save the Queen! O'er her thine arm extend, For Britain's sake defend, Our mother, prince, and friend, God save the Queen! 'Tis thy flag and my flag, The best of flags on earth So cherish it my friend It is ours by right of birth, Our fathers fought, our fathers died To raise it to the skies And we, like them, must never yield, But keep it flying high.
