Lady of Spain Mr. Bono Vox Foetus In Fetu If it's going to be a "United Nations" of guilds, it should have rotational leadership. No, It should have a commissioner as the captain of that guild with the captain's of the member guilds as crew members and their forgien sect. (if they wish to have one) as members. The guild should also be private so members from the member guilds can view whatever discussions go on within the guild. I'm not sure Britain is head of the Commonwealth any more, is it? Not since it became The Commonwealth of Nations rather than the British Commonwealth. Though, that doesn't stop a lot of people still saying British Commonwealth, beacause the latter distinguishes it most clearly from other commonwealths.
The British Monarch is the head of the Commonwealth, and always has been, so in that way it is UKcentric and of course in that the constituent nations are all in some way ex empire. Aside from that (as nominal leadership and distant history are largely irellevant to the actual working of the modern Commonwealth), the Commonwealth Secreteriat is based in London and so the main administratice centre is in the UK.
That said, the focus is on equality of nations and the UK is in no official capacity superior to any of the other Commonwealth nations. It's security is simply held by convention.
Heh. Maybe I should join the FCO.

Having worked down the list of nations I'm as far as contacting Pakistan. This is mostly a note to myself though, so I know where to start off next time I'm online.

Invictus_88 Hello ***nation***,
The cross-national forum for discussion (here) has brought our Stage 1 planning to a close.
In summary, we concluded that:
We should allow the USA to be represented, but should not feel forced to pay for their Guild.
That there should be two representatives (essentially ambassadors) from each nation to represent the interests of their Guild.
That the Union of National Guilds' discussion Guild should have a subforum used only by the ambassadors, but should have a main forum that can be used by any interested member of any nation for discussion of relevant issues.
The Guild shall be set up in a few days and invites will be extended automatically to Captains, VC's and Crew of each nation.
Please could you begin to formulate a method of selecting or electing your two representatives. We do not require the choice to be democratic, but we do strongly suggest it. Feel free to reply with any questions you have, and I will do my best to answer them.
Yours faithfully,
Invictus_88 A generic letter to captains and crew from the assenting national guilds, any suggested changes?
