While already trying to sooth the young girls embarrassment with her own gentle cooing, Lahlil took a rather surprised note of Ishiba's mother like attention. If she didn't know any better the girl might actually have the aptitude to make for a brilliant medic. A good place first place to start for their round the village career trip. For now though it felt like a good place to change up their training for a more lighthearted view. "Well! I'd say you probably earned your treat and then some after that. What do you say Mariko hun? Only if you're not too hurt though that is."

Mariko continued to cry, unable to answer Ishiba's question. Truthfully, it was more of the experience that she felt when falling and the sudden heightened emotion of fear which caused the crying in the first place. That brief moment in the air, Mariko was caught up with so many emotions at once that she was basically paralyzed. If it weren't for the sudden expansion of her chakra - however she managed to do that in such a state to begin with - who knows what might have happened to her. However, she was within Ishiba's embrace now, and her crying quickly subsided upon hearing the soothing sound of her humming tune and loving hug. It brought back faint memories of her mother whom she lost to the war, though she was an infant then. It was not the sound of the hum, but rather the warm embrace combined with the subtle vibrations within Ishiba's chest that Mariko was able to feel. The very same feeling that soothed her in times of distress nearly half a decade ago.
"Thank you, Ishiba..." Sniffling, she whipped the remaining tears from her eyes and hugged Ishiba proper. The mention of treats by Lahlil was more than enough to return the academy student to her usual energetic, bubbly self. "Hurt? No way! Ishiba helped me feel better. Let's go get some treats!" With a giggle, she'd leap from Ishiba's arms onto her feet, waiting for the other two to follow her lead. Or rather, Lahlil's because Mariko had no idea where she was going.
While Ishiba was glad Mariko was infact unharmed, she was still worried. I don't know what I would do if something like that happened to her again... Ishiba caught herself quick enough, but she thought she was starting to sound like an old woman. Ishiba looked to Lahlil, almost bewilderedly, when she mentioned treats. She took a second, but she seemed to catch back up pretty quickly. "That... would be nice." Ishiba said, softly. A smile began to play at her lips, Is this... what mom meant? About... "friends"? I wonder... She thought to herself, her smile slowly broadening.
Ishiba is a small young girl, with a suprisingly lithe frame. Her hair is raven black, and reaches past her shoulders; in a completely straight and dignified manner. Her eyes are emerald green, and shine with hope. Her voice is soft and small, but still somehow carries rather well.
Kōjin made his way into the academy and thought for a moment about what type of jutsu he wanted to learn. After a few seconds he made his way to the water scrolls and pulled a few out looking them over. Deciding on three jutsu that could help him in different situation he would begin with the Hidden Mist technique. Studying the handsigns he would begin to mesmerize them before practicing them slowly. After a few tries he would begin to truly form the jutsu as he rapidly preforms the handsigns and releases his chakra as a thick mist begins to flow through out the academy.
Hidden Mist Technique [ Kirigakure no Jutsu ] Learned.
As the mist covered the area he remembered reading about another jutsu that normally was used with it as he began to focus. The jutsu required no handsigns that he noticed just chakra and with a calm and collected manner sitting in the academy, Kōjin focused the chakra to his eyes. Beginning to see slightly in the mist he realized he was on the right track and focused more chakra to his eyes attempting to conquer this hurtle in one swoop. With the new added amount of chakra to his eyes he could see perfectly in the mist as he smiled to himself.
Mist Vision Technique [ Kiri Shikaku no Jutsu ] Learned
Now there was one more jutsu that he needed to learn to continue his advancement in the water style arts as well as make his trap perfect. Looking over the jutsu he would begin to practice the handsigns in the mist and focus his chakra. This was a stronger jutsu and he needed to focus as the couple of times he tried it, the jutsu didn't work. Thinking to himself he would put forth all his effort in this last try, and began to preform the handsigns with more intent than before. After expelling the amount of chakra that was needed and finishing the handsigns, he expelled a thick, viscus, and sticky amount of liquid he could only describe as syrup.
Starch Syrup Capture Field [ Mizuame Nabara ] Learned.
Breathing in deep he would let the jutsu's fade off into nothing and sit down to take a small break, drinking some water to relax a bit.
Nindo: "What cant be reasoned with, deserves to melt."
Finishing his break, Kōjin made his way over to the Earth style jutus and looked through the jutsu for a moment before coming upon another jutsu that could be useful. Moving to the outside portion of the academy for the next couple of jutsu he would take that and the fire style scrolls with him. Learning the handsigns for the earth style jutsu first he began to focus on the chakra. after a few tries it became easier and easier before he decided he was ready. With a rapid string of handsigns he released his chakra and he would beging to sink into the earth traveling around for a moment before shooting out breathing heavily and laughing.
Underground Fish Projection [ Dochuu Eigyo ] learned.
Moving on to the katon jutsu he would swiftly summon a clone to help him before moving away from the clone. Practicing the handsigns and chakra flow through his body he would look at the clone and smile wickedly. This would be the first attacking style jutsu he was gonna learn and he wanted to see the destructive power of it without hurting anyone innocent. With a quick and sudden string of handsigns, Kōjin lifted on hand to his mouth and exhaled a massive fireball that traveled towards the clone before impacting. Once it impacted the fireball exploded with a loud blast, and when the smoke cleared the clone was gone.
Great Fireball Technique [ Gōkakyū no Jutsu ] learned.
Breathing heavily he would move to the final jutsu that he was going to learn and summoned another clone. This time as he practiced the handsigns and chakra flow he would grin. This was becoming easier than he thought it would and couldn't believe it himself. With a sudden burst of chakra three globes appeared and moved towards the clone attaching themselves to the clone. Within seconds another explosion happened and the clone once again had vanished into nothing.
Bomb Blaze Technique [ Kibaku Kaen no Jutsu ] learned.
Kōjin moved back inside and put all the scrolls away back in their storage area before taking another break thinking of what he wanted to learn next.

tabClipboard in hand Lahlil walked through the academy taking note of each scroll. Usually this kind of work was low grade for a Kage to be doing but Lahlil took a lot of enjoyment in the work. Keeping track of each individual jutsu had become priority since the destruction of Uzu. Everything in this place had been hard fought for by Lahlil herself through trade agreements by those brutal caravan merchants. It honestly surprising how much people turned when they thought they could make a good deal off of a bunch of scavengers. Signing to herself Lahlil pushed those thoughts out of her head, those days were over now and the leaf had it’s won bright future to look forward to.

__ Bursting through the doors of the academy Derane pulled Mirari just a little further inside until he was comfortable enough with the distance and the amount of muscles Jounin surrounding them. "Well damn if I don't say that was some of the most ******** up s**t I ever did see. Sorry about that sweetheart I promise that stuff like that doesn't happen around here usually." Looking down into the girl's stinging red eyes the boy ended up rebuking himself under his breath. "Ah you probably don't even know what I'm saying do you.. here gimme a sec."
Moving over to the wall of boring scrolls Derane absently mindedly grabbed a few off the shelf from each element before returning to his now new charge and handed the girl each scroll for her to look at. His finger stabbing into the important bits of the paper. "Sooo can you like use ninjutsu even?" From their short time together Derane wondered just how intelligent this girl even was. Or to be more precise, he wondered if she knew how to do 'people things'. You know, reading, writing, the works. It was clear enough that whoever this chick was she at had some kind of primal understanding to be afraid and how to fight.

__ Like a scent on the wind Mirai allowed herself to be carted away from the battle with nothing more than an idle expression on her face. Now that she was away from the danger at large it was almost like she felt nothing at all. The strange city she was in throwing her survival instincts all out of wack.
As the two of them came breaking into the academy Mirai showed the first real expression of emotion since she had gotten there, curiosity. Bright red eyes looked over every chair and crack in the wall that could be found. Genuinely amazed that such a cozy little place could even exist. In her mind anyways such a thing couldn't be possible. One always had to be running, picking up, looking for a meal, or hiding from predators.
When Derane threw those paper scrolls at her that was where the real magic began. Mirai didn't bother to answer with words because she knew none, but with her actions? The collared girl practically tore apart the soft paper in front of her trying to soak in it's knowledge. Her delicate fingers tracing over it's surface would bring the letters to life in scarlet coloring so that they could dance around her head. Mirai herself would have a glazed over expression while she did this.

__ At first Derane just sighed thinking that his efforts were utterly wasted. But as he was about to reach for the scrolls back is when Mirai started summoning red characters out of thin air. It was almost enough to make a normal person to have a shiver down their spine but not Derane. The boy only sat there mouth agape in a mixture of surprise and amazement. "That's... I mean.. what are you even doing? Are you LEARNING it like that?" The idea that there existed a person sho could learn jutsu just by simply touching them flabbergasted his mind completely. Just what the hell kind of creature was she, and had the boy finally found someone who was similar to himself?

__ Mirai only tilted her head at Derane's exclamations. This manner of 'learning' whatever she touches didn't seem strange to her because this was all that she knew, and thus, the norm. She was however, smart enough to perceive that, somehow she was doing a good and that her new master was quite proud of her.
Jittering her hands in happiness, the girl climbed to her feet in a haste that was fueled by the desire to do more 'good' and be praised. Scampering off on bare feet Miari ran her fingers along the surfaces on any books that she could find. Chakra theory, Basic ninjutsu formation, advanced ninjutsu formation, your elements and you, all of them learned with a single touch of her palm. Her mind had never been filled with such knowledge before it was staggering to her. 1
After all, here was a wide full world of ninja arts that she had never experienced before this moment having lived on her own. The wilds were a hard place to survive and most definitely devoid of any thought that wasn't 'oh my god it's going to eat me run!'. Perhaps Derane would come regret bringing here, for puling her out of her natural element and allowing her to run wild in a place with no natural predators. Like when one introduces an wild animal to a new location. 2
Possible reservations aside, Mirari let her wild frenzy of attention seeking carry her into a rambunctious mess. She didn't mean to of course, but having no idea of what kind of behavior was considered civil left the girl unknowingly destroying things in her quest. Grubby little hands now trying to scale a bookshelf for a scroll that she found particularly shiny Mirai left the entire bottom section in disarray. 3
When at last her hands were able to grab hold of it the young girl had now learned everything that had initially caught her interest. The only problem? Well looking down at the ground her mood darkened. How did she get up here? It was so high! Lacking the problem solving skills to get herself she did the only thing she knew how to at that point, gripping what wood she could and hold on for dear life until the problem magically fixed itself. 4

"You're kidding me!" Mina yelled to herself, bursthing through the Academy doors. The young girl had just passed by a clock that had the decency to tell her she was thirty minutes late for class. The red head skirted around a corner, her feel skidding against the wood audibly until she bumped into the opposite wall. Mina didn't let that stop her and she pushed forward. "Sensei's gonna KILL me for being late again!" She groaned, clutching her bag strap to keep her book bag from falling away. "I couldn't help hope they listen to me." Mina came to a screeching halt at the door to her class, a small cloud of smoke billowing around her feet. The young student slammed the door open and stepped into the class. "Sorry for my tardiness, Sensei!"

It had been a fairly quiet day in class, Aonagi having been on his own ever since tending to himself near the front. The bookworm would have been just getting to studying the next few chapters of the textbook before the class came to a stand still after hearing the clash against the wall outside. Everybody likely knew exactly who the person in question might be. Her seat had been empty ever since role call, and most students had a tendency of causing a ruckus when entering a class. A few seconds after the little bump outside, the door slid open while the tardy student would open the door behind her and proceed to apologize to the teacher.
"Sorry for my tardiness, Sensei!"
As the girl stepped into the front, Nagi would offer her one of his trademark smiles. He scribbled quickly on his piece of paper used for getting around his disability and raised it so only she could read it. "Good morning, Mina! I can help catch you up!" He looked to the teacher to see if it was okay, which most likely could have been an after school activity. Unless somebody else had a preference for helping tardy students.

The young ninja stuck her tongue out playfully and made her way inside and down towards her usual seat by her usual friend, Aonagi. The two frequently found themselves studying together, as they both seemed to enjoy reading the material. Mina grinned as she sat down, her chair screeching and clunking against the wooden floor. She read the note the younger boy wrote to her. “I’ll help you get caught up.” It read. Mina gently took the note and wrote a small message back.
“Thank you, Nagi. I owe you one.” Followed by a small doodle of a smiley face. Her pencil scratched more against the paper as she added. “What’s been the material so far?”

It was early morning, and though Ichika enjoyed spending them with her mother, she wanted to get a headstart on the day and surprise her sensei by cleaning up the classroom. She entered the dusty room with vague disgust, covering her mouth instinctively. Then, she pulled a rag from her pocket and began to clean off the desks.
It wasn't a very entertaining process, but if she was determined to be a great swordsman, she would need to understand discipline and patience. She was certain she was good enough already in those areas considering her past, but she steered her thoughts away from her rocky beginning as she cleaned. She managed to get through an entire row without thinking about her b*****d father and her horrid siblings.
She shook her head quickly. No time for that, now. She finished with the top of the desks in the room, pleased at the small but noticeable difference in the room already. She got to work on her sensei's desk, taking the few items off of it so she could slide the rag on the surface.
She rested the dusty rag on the edge of the sensei's desk as she took some erasers to clear the blackboard of any remaining chalk. She tried not to think about how easy it was to choke on chalk dust. She put the erasers on the edge of the board and took a step back to admire her work, pleased with how her efforts were turning out. [ Mission: Cleaning up the classroom x 4 ]
It was getting later in the morning but she still had plenty of time. She couldn't remember if this was a day off for students or not, since she tended to come here every day anyways to just sit and acclimate to Konoha. It was so strange being in this village when she was used to the water country, but she supposed she would feel like a citizen of the village soon enough. She decided to get a head start on her studies as well, standing in front of the classroom as if presenting and forming the correct hand seals rather slowly. Exuding chakra at a semi-even rate, she substituted her form with the dust rag on the edge of the table. [ Substitution Technique ]
Feeling emboldened by her success, she tried to summon her chakra again. She made hand seals slowly, carefully, until she felt her chakra was evenly spread across her body. She formed more hand seals slowly, waiting for her mind to be able to focus. She imagined herself as she saw in the mirror most mornings, hair brushed meticulously and clothes as free of creases as she could manage by herself. She expelled her chakra and opened her eyes, surprised they had fluttered closed during her imagining, and saw a copy of herself that was only slightly off-base. __ Watching Mirai zoom through the academy like a little lightning bolt Derane himself struggled to keep up with her. By the end of it the old man was forced to take a seat and catch his breath. Seriously you'd think that whoever the hell made a stitched together zombie would at least be able to make it to where he could keep up with a child. Wait she was a child right? Well it's not like he could even ask that if he WAS curious. Once his cold wheezing came to an end the genin jumped to his feet again and started hunting high and low for the girl. Which surprisingly wasn't too hard considering the path of destruction that she left in her wake.
Picking up whatever was easiest at the time the boy just about end a dead end between some book shelves when a scroll fell and bonked him on his head. "What the hell..?" Looking up Derane's face would pale upon seeing Mirai clinging desperately to the highest shelf there was. So naturally, after he finished laughing his a** off, Derane leaped into action to try and scale the bookshelf and rescue her. Not really a forward thinking move because even though he made it to the top no problem the bookshelf would tip backwards from both of their weights near one half. "Oh s**t." Was all he could say before the whole thing came tumbling down with them looking to get the worst of the crash.
