A man would approach Makara, dress in regal looking azure robes with his hands tucked in. Her crimson eyes would watch him closely, her tongue snaking its way out of her mouth to taste the air before disappearing back inside of her just as fast. Mlem. She looked up from her position and would sloooowly get up onto two feet while mimicking his posture for herself. The creature's tail slunk behind her while Makara blinked, ever so silent in the face of questioning. Sure she might be a little bit imposing, being six foot three in this form, but she was much too full to really think about taking his guy for a snack of her own.

Her response was none existent, sticking out her serpent-like tongue again while her legs would shake. The amount of weight they were carrying alone was much too great for continous movement and thus, Makara fall back onto all four. She remained in a crouching squat with both palms on the ground.

Usagi hopped along the makeshift village ruins taking in all the sights had to offer her. There was just so much new stuff to behold! You had all manner of people doing all manner of jobs from lifting supplies around to keeping an eye on intruders; the former clearly working harder than the latter. It was these people who caught Usagi's immediate attention. She couldnt exactly say why, but something about these crates seemed oddly... alluring. She'd slowly approach from the sidelines, occasionally stopping to check her surroundings. One, two, three short bounds and she was right behind the stack the men were making with the crates. With her size, she'd have no problem hiding behind the men's tower of boxes, but Usagi still felt it best to wait till they left before rummaging around.

The loud clatter of wood on ancient cobble rang out followed by the brief groans of two men stretching. "Well, that's it for now. C'mon, I know a place we can take the load off...uh... hey! Stop!" The men's retreat would be halted by the sharp splintering of wood and the tumbling-out-ittude of its contents. With one sharp kick, her cover was blown. Usagi locked eyes with one of the men then glanced down at her would-be-prize. Produce. It seems she had stumbled onto the camp's fruit and veggie stores; that certainly explains the allure. "C'mon man, it's just a rabbit. Scare it off and let's go." One man said. His partner rolled up his sleeves and approached Usagi. "Yeah, alright. We could use the extra meat anyway."

Uh-oh... Danger. As the man stumbled towards the lop-eared damsel-in-distress, Usagi snapped into action. In one swift motion, she snatched up a fresh stalk of celery, leaves and all, in her mouth and jump-kicked the man's face as he knelt down to grab her. Two booming thwomps rang out as her feet cracked against the man's skull. Using his knelt form as a spring board, the rabbit-girl flipped into the air and dashed off into the distance. "Get it!" the man cried out, climbing to his feet and shoving past his partner.

The goons were fast to be sure, but Usagi was faster. She led the two on a chase around the ruins, dashing past crowds of people and weaving through small holes as best she could to try and lose them. It looked like she was finally losing them from her numerous shortcuts through the ruins, but she had one more trick up her sleeve just to be sure. Throughout the chase, she'd lead the men to a dead end passable only through another small hole just big enough for her to slip through. If the men wanted to pursue, they'd need to go around. As she squeezed to safety, she would hear one of the men shouting. "C'mon, this way!"

As the goof patrol turned the corner, they would not find their prize. Instead, they'd find a young girl apparently in her mid to late teens laying up against a wall. Her clothes were worn and ragged and showed signs of travel. The hood from her jacket perfectly concealed her oversized ears that would normally be a dead giveaway so for all they knew, she was just another civilian. "Hey, did you see a rabbit come through here?" Usagi would simply point them down the path and roll her eyes. "C'mon! We're gonna eat good tonight!" Once the two men were out of ear-shot, Usagi would jump to her feet and pulled her delicious prize out of the front sweatshirt pocket. Taking a loud bite, she'd rejoin the unsuspecting crowds and see who else she could find.

User ImageStanding at a respectable 6'2", Saekki was nonetheless surprised when this girl stood eye-to-eye with him. His eyes, though wide, would not shy away, however. It was a stoic stare... until his staring partner fell back to what was, evidently, the position she was most comfortable with. That was when Saekki would give a rough smirk. "Heh," his laugh was cocky, but not derisive or mocking, "Not one of many words, huh?".

His head cocked to the side as he, too, went silent. A pensive expression fell over his face. He considered for a moment, while also waiting for something, anything, to be said by this woman he had struck a conversation with. Nothing. At this point, Saekki could only conclude that this nameless one simply could not speak.

Well, if they couldn't talk to each other, that made things simple. Again, that smirk resurfaced as he lifted his head up haughtily in the signs of a clear challenge, "Wanna fight?".

Mlem. Makara produced another flick of her long tongue as she tasted the air yet again. The man in front of her had long hair tied into a ponytail which her crimson eyes were drawn to, only sometimes coming back to look at him in the eyes. A great silence fell over them while she would tilted her head to the right and then let out a yawn while stretching her body like a common house cat. While her mouth was open Saekki might catch a glimpse at her teeth. Rows and rows of bladed bone, arranged together like in a shark's mouth. With the orafice closed, the beast looked back up at the man as he spoke about a fight.

This interested the beast, perking her head up as she hurried inside of the ring and would look back at the boy to step in. She displayed her teeth, letting out a low growl while that massive tail behind her would coil around her. A fight was good. She could use some fresh blood.

As Shuusui walked into the castle for his final examination as an Academy Student, he recalled all the lessons that had been drilled into him in preparation. Years spent under demanding clan members had made his time at the Academy very leisurely. That breath of fresh air that had been that unexpected freedom had left quite an impression on Shuusui. Enough that Plague would lecture him on playing hooky from the Academy. He just… found it so boring at times, having covered most of the material before even entering through the Academy Gates. Still, now was the time to demonstrate that he was ready to move on. The recent events had scarred Shuusui in a manner that he himself was not yet sure. A determined look crossed his face. He would keep Plague safe.

Deeper in the castle the Jounin stopped, turning towards Shuusui with a tired expression. ”Let’s start going through what you know. Where are you on the basic six?" Inquired the Jounin.

When civilians typically visualize shinobi and the arts they employ, inevitably they will think of the Henge. The simplest of techniques, it allows its user to transform themselves into any object or person. Simply put, it provides the basis behind the very mentality of shinobi: the art of deception. Shuusui considered that too many in this day and age had forgotten that ultimately, the shinobi were meant to be shadows not suns.

The Gensou Bunshin or known simply as Bunshin was very similar to the Henge in this regard. Its strength lay in its capabilities for deception. Incapable of attacking, the Bunshin were meant to confuse or startle opponents. To be perfectly frank, Gensou Bunshin were simply the root from which all other Bunshin techniques originated from. But Shuusui had gleamed potential in even this rudimentary technique…

It had been under the auspicious training of his clan that he had first gleaned at the Gensou’s potential. Its weaknesses laid in the fact that they were often, easily discernible from the originator. Not to mention its inability to actually attack. So, what was the simplest solution? Work on improving image. Focus on enhancing the details so that the clone was in fact indistinguishable from himself. It had taken him many tries but he started to glean a path when from the right angle he managed to surprise and confuse his tutor. Later on, he would leave his teachers flabbergasted with his applications of this most basic of techniques.

The Kawarimi was yet another staple, rooted in deception. One quick burst of chakra to replace yourself with an object to avoid a blow. If properly timed, it would deceive the attacker that they had in fact struck the victim. Of course, they would soon realize that they had been deceived. However, that still granted a small opening in which to attack or flee. In truth, these three techniques were all staples that no shinobi should ignore.

Chakra control was a very important aspect of the ninja arts. Thankfully, the Academy now covered the basics on helping students learn how to master their chakra flow. Before it was one of the rudimentary techniques that the Jounin Sensei of Genin Teams would cover. Leaving entire generations of Genin whole-fully ill-prepared in terms of learning how to master chakra control.

The first step toward improving your chakra control was the Kinobori no Waza. It required precise amounts of chakra to properly walk up a wall or tree without leaving a mark. Shuusui remembered how the Academy now drilled the exercise so that it was practically an unconscious act on their part. After all, if you were focusing on maintaining the proper chakra flow to stick to the wall, how could you fight properly? You would’t. That’s why it had to be drilled to an instinctive level. Nothing less would do.

The second step for chakra control was Suimen Hokou no Waza. There were differences, since walls and trees were solid you merely needed to grasp the proper amount of chakra and hold it. Thus allowing the shinobi to run vertically. With water, the chakra had to be emitted constantly thus forming a quasi form of solidity to the water surface. In that manner, water walking was truly achieved. Another skill that also had to be instinctive.

Chakra control was important for many reasons, such as releasing yourself from a genjutsu. Focusing their chakra a shinobi would halt the its flow to disrupt the genjutsu that had latched on. In that manner, the shinobi would be freed from a variety of techniques. It wasn’t limited to Genjutsu but was the foremost defense for it. A staple in any shinobi’s repertoire.

”Mastered. No self-respecting shinobi could fail to learn them.” affirmed Shuusui.

"Any other Maruton mastered?" Inquired the Jounin.

Ayatsuito no Jutsu broke down the various uses of wires. Shuusui found it very useful. Another classic art of ancient shinobi, before bloodlines had developed as drastically as they had. Something in Shuu always stirred when he worked on mastering these classical techniques. Could he revive this in some other fashion? Shuusui would have to investigate and practice to find out.

Kawara Shuriken was another… odd technique. Very limited application. Sure in an urban scenario it allowed for an unconventional approach to combat. Roof-tile shuriken were so very much not in Shuusui’s style. He had learned it because it might… someday turn out to be useful. A small part of Shuusui really hoped that day never came.

Though Shuusui hadn’t expected to learn about the Youji technique. He had no regrets. It was useful, allowing for the rapid-fire release of needles. If properly set up, it would allow for a powerful delivery of projectiles. In fact, it had an element of the unexpected that appealed greatly to Shuusui.

Korabo was the basis for allowing the fusion of multiple techniques. Shuusui had been taught that some of the strongest ninjas operated as teams. Such as the village Sannin. The ideal was that together they would be stronger than the individual. In Shuusui’s opinion it was dependent on the individuals. Two people who made a good team may not be suitable to Korabo style techniques. And the opposite was true too, two people whose skill set landed itself fantastically to combination may in fact be terribly suited as teammates.

So many of these techniques were in Shuu’s mind, basic skills. Such as the Bikou Ninjutsu. The technique was all about helping a shinobi better engage in stealth. To hide one’s presence. Stealth was one of the many aspects of the shinobi arts. Bikou merely enhanced one’s attempt.

Kakuremino no Jutsu was similar to Bikou. It enhanced one’s stealth. Bikou was better suited for improving one’s stealth while in movement whilst Kakkuremino was better for static stealth. It allowed one to blend almost seamlessly into the background. Properly applied Shuusui was sure it had strong espionage potential.

Karakuri Hakke no Jin was more of a technique taught in the Academy to help students raise the alarm in the case of an emergency. Truly, Shuusui forgot that he knew the technique most days. The subsequent maze could slow enemies down, but… in truth. It required such arduous prior set-up that it truly wasn’t viable.

Shuusui couldn’t fault the Nawanuke no Jutsu, but it was a simple technique. Its purpose was to allow shinobi to escape bindings. It wasn’t terribly efficient though. After all, getting out of bindings could be quite difficult. Additionally, Shuusui was of the personal opinion that a proper shinobi should not be caught. Not easily anyway.

Kekkai Massatsu no Jutsu was… potentially quite devastating. However, it did require a team. Together you worked together to shatter barriers. The more people working together, the stronger the technique. In truth it was a brute force technique to forcibly turn numbers into an advantage.

Tanukineiri no Jutsu would perhaps seem to be useless. But while on a mission, being able to sleep on command in the moments that allowed for rest… that was worth its metaphorical weight in gold. The best part is that it granted the full benefits of a sleep cycle whilst still keeping the shinobi at a easily woken state. Shuusui knew some of his fellows students would have scoffed at the technique. He however, would never do so.

"I managed to adequately master a variety of the basic Maruton techniques.” was Shuusui’s prompt reply.

”Well then, let us move on… Suiton is your first element correct?" Inquired the Jounin.

It was, given Uzumaki's ancestral ties with the Senju clan it wasn't be remarkable or odd that an Uzumaki display an affinity for Suiton or Doton due to the Senju's Mokuton. That said, those ancestral ties were so far back that those elements weren't particularly prominent among the Uzumaki either. It was no more or less common than say Katon. Not at all like the Uchiha who all displayed an affinity for the Katon element, or the Hatake with Raiton. Shuusui of course had been pushed to discover and begin learning his affinities while still very young. He had tried to slow-ball the process as a child, wishing to play. But his clan would have none of it.

Sution manipulation started with the Mizu Soujuu technique. It covered the basics of manipulating water. Making it boil, increasing the pressure. Mizu Soujuu formed the foundation for all Suiton techniques. In fact, the benefits of Mizu Soujuu could not be undersold. The full training also taught how to allow a shinobi to draw moisture from the very air as opposed to requiring a large body of water. True, Shuusui knew that high level Suiton techniques still required some form of water. In that case, this technique allowed the shinobi to create a source for later techniques. All in all, a very useful technique and a cornerstone for any user of Suiton ninjutsu.

In fact, Shuusui had used this technique to devastating effect one day. It had been one of the days that he had... skipped a Fuuinjutsu class, useless as they had been for him. Plague had of course run around searching for him, while he had prepared this technique. He knew her hurried manner would attract the eye of some poppy-jay more than happy to yell at the poor girl. So he had been gathering the moisture in the air to prepare whilst sitting from his vantage point on the roof of the Academy. When one of the more prideful teachers had inevitably charged out to give Plague a tongue-lashing, he had released the technique. The resulting pool of water had thoroughly drenched the poppy-jay and Plague had escaped lash-free. Shuusui himself had never been found guilty. Due to the fact that no one had known where the water had originated. Besides, it hadn't really been a prank in the first place. Shuusui had merely been practicing.

In truth, Shuusui was flabbergasted that the Mizu no Waruasobi was actually taught in the Academy. Even his most... forceful clan members had derided the technique as superfluous. Liking it more as a juvenile exercise in even the best of lights. Sure it had the potential of marring an opponent's vision but it required such precision that you were likely far better off using an different technique altogether. Still, it had been taught at the Academy. Thus, Shuusui did his best to learn the technique, even if he never planned on using it.

Mizu Kagami no Jutsu however disparagingly thought of by other students was actually a useful technique. Sure it was not at all applicable to combat, but they were shinobi. Combat was merely an aspect of their craft. Combined with the Mizu Soujuu, the Mizu Kagami no Jutsu allowed for the placement of a reflective surface anywhere within sight. The value of this for the purposes of espionage was not small. Shuusui was quite happy that he had learned this technique. He truly believed that this technique in particular had been underestimated for too long.

Shuusui thought well of Uo Tsuba. Definitely useful and devastatingly effective when applied correctly. It could be used a single shot of water, but that would be using it ineffectively. It was best applied in rapid fire since each jet would impair an opponent. Shuusui wondered how such a simple technique could be so devastating, something to investigate for sure. Perhaps something to do with the chakra flow or the signs used to create the technique?

Shuusui would admit that the Mizu no Yaiba was a very useful technique. If one was martially prone it could even be devastating. Shuusui himself was not much a sword fighter but even he could admire the inherent elegance of the technique at full strength. It definitely warranted that he allow to keep track of the technique in case a situation evolved to necessitate its use. Not that Shuusui would go out of his way to use it. Again, he held little affinity for swords to warrant its abuse. But armor-cracking... that definitely could be useful.

"I found myself to be quite adept at Suiton." replied Shuusui. A small smile at the recollection of his "practice" with Mizu Soujuu.

"Well then, What's your other element?" Inquired the Jounin.

Shuusui's second element was Doton. The irony that Shuusui would have an affinity for the building blocks of Mokuton was not lost on him. Though he wasn't a Senju. In some ways, Shuusui was representative of that old kinship with the Senju. That said, he had performed admirably with Doton in class and found that too many focused on the more brutal and showy aspects of the element, neglecting its use in softer arts.

A good example was the Doton Bunshin. Slower than a regular bunshin, it could however shrug of multiple blows which was quite impressive given the simplicity of the technique. Too many simply saw the raw strength of the Bunshin in comparison to its fellows. It being stronger and more resilient allowed it some lee-way in direct combat. For Shuusui however, he focused on how the clone by requiring a second blow to be properly dispelled allowed for a good degree of subterfuge if properly capitalized on. Definitely something that required exploring. Perhaps in a spar?

Iwa Tounyuu no Jutsu was in Shuusui's mind a perfect example of the brute force mindset that Doton tended to evoke. It caused stone to be launched with some force. That's all. In fact, as far as techniques went... it was quite disappointing. Still it was a good technique with which to start practicing Doton manipulation. Still, Shuusui would likely never use this technique nor go out of his way to learn techniques akin to this one.

Ishi Yoroi no Ude, while another example of the more brutish side of Doton, was not a technique Shuusui looked at disparagingly. The ability to quickly create a set of defensive bracers when engaged in close quarters was useful. Its inherent resilience was also quite welcome. Especially in light of easy it was to use. Its efficiency was quite devastating to be perfectly frank. Definitely something for Shuusui to capitalize on. Perhaps even focus? You could never know where the strongest influences to one's style would originate.

Now Tsuchi Gunjikoudo was a good example of the subtlety often forgotten when it came to Doton techniques. The ability to simply swim/maneuver through the ground would allow for quick redeployment on the battlefield. It use when combined with other techniques would also allow for a degree of misdirection. When Shuusui first learned of the technique he had immediately reveled in its potential. Enough that Shuu sincerely believed that it would have a notable influence on his combat style.

Tsuchi Tou Tou was a technique that seemed to try to blend the subtlety of Doton with its customary brute approach. Causing the earth to move rapidly could have applications, but perhaps a more straightforward approach would be better suited to the situations in which Tsuchi Tou Tou could be applied. Perhaps in combination with Tsuchi Gunjikoudou? Now that had potential. Something to investigate, though by itself... a little lackluster. Ah well.

"I'm not sure I am your typical representative of Doton." Shuusui remarked plainly. "However, I would definitely state that I am more than proficient."

"Any knowledge of Fuuin?" Inquired the Jounin.

The basics of Fuuinjutsu were covered in the Academy true... but for Shuusui, the Academy had come far too late for the lessons to be relevant. He was the scion of Uzumaki, pushed to master many aspects of the ninja arts at a terrifyingly young age. Of course, they hadn't neglected Fuuin. In fact, Shuu privately wondered if they had placed too much emphasis as it were. The basis of all Fuuin was sealing (Fūnyū) and releasing (Kaifū). With time Shuu would strengthen the techniques and thus learn how to seal away (and later release) larger quantities. For now though he had received no complaints for his pattern work. In fact, he had managed to correct the odd aide on their own seal work. He had tried to do it as politely as possible, though the aides had not taken it well at all. One had even tried to get Shuusui punished for "interrupting him inappropriately," that had not lasted long enough for even the teacher to take the aide seriously. The head teacher of Fuuinjutsu had even berated the aide, noting that the error Shuusui had pointed out would cause the whole seal to fail when submerged in water. Nevertheless, Shuusui had mastered the basic set behind all seals. Even if that mastery had been prior to the Academy.

Of course, Fuuin could also summon/transport objects. It could even transport animals or people! If the seal was strong enough, they could transport objects across villages!! The Korabo Kuchiyose no Jutsu was such a technique. Though its emphasis was in working together with other summoners to transport the desired person or object. Shuusui thought this technique was not too practical in a fight but could be useful for logistical purposes. Something to consider in the next war, should it occur.

The last Fuuin covered in the Academy was the Tebanasu. Very useful technique if applied appropriately. It had the capability to delay the activation of a seal or extend its duration. That could help stagger a series of seals (such as explosives) or help an expert in Fuuin by granting them time against another seal. After all, sometimes merely delaying the effect of a seal was enough to allow you to evade it. Yes, Shuusui would never discount this technique out of hand. He had found it very useful when... dealing with annoying clan members who were far too caught up in the superiority of their techniques.

"I have scored high marks on all 4 Fuuin covered by the Academy with no difficulties in my execution of the required exercises." replied Shuusui. "Even managed to help some of the aides better refine their own Fuuin." he added, a hint of pride creeping into his voice.

The Jounin instructor coughed,
"Yes well... you're an Uzumaki, it's almost to be expected. Well, let's move on to Genjutsu. How are your Illusory techniques?" Inquired the Jounin.

Shuusui resisted an urge to groan. He was himself quite interested in Genjutsu as a discipline. But the techniques he had learn in the Academy had betrayed him so completely that he was having serious concerns. Kumo Monokage no Jutsu was the first transgressor. The technique created an illusory cloud… in an attempt to hide something… Only Kami could possibly fathom that logic. A cloud hovering at ground level was more than a little suspicious.

At least, Etainoshirenai no Fugou could pretend to be actually applicable. The uses one could make with creating a false set of instructions was potentially useful. Unfortunately… it failed in that the simplest of touches would break the illusion. Which meant that it was even more limited than his initial first impression had been. Much like Dokuji no Kaori. Sure the idea of say hiding your scent as you ran could be potentially very useful. In practice… the illusion merely created a fake scent, it didn’t truly hide one. Which meant its applications were few. Furthermore, how was one supposed to use this technique to hide their scent?

Shuusui had to restrain a groan. So many of these techniques were truly irrelevant outside of a classroom, such as Nirami no Kage. Minor manipulations to a shadow… really? So very useful that. Gods why go out of their way teach these techniques? Shuusui really did wonder at times.

Now Hada no Kamereon was actually useful. It allowed the user to blend into the surroundings. Much like the Kakuremino. The difference laid in execution. The Kakuremino relied on a sheet to take on the appearance of the user’s surroundings. The Hada no Kamereon used per chakra. Of the two, Shuusui deemed the latter the more elegant of the two techniques. As well as more readily available.

Kaiteki Uta had been a requirement of his mother… Shuusui had learned to play instruments as part of his proper education as the Uzumaki heir. The idea was that by learning how to play instruments he would gain culture. The technique had been then taught during his lessons. The idea was that you could help instill peace/calm whilst under the guise of simply playing an instrument. Shuusui didn’t have the heart to disparage it. Clearly, it must have been something that the Uzumaki took advantage of in negotiations with other clans.

Kowaikao no Jutsu was a prank of a technique. Though Shuusui technically had seen a father of a local dojo use it frightening effect to keep his daughter’s suitor in line. Regardless, it was still less than impressive. A sudden demonic face would be easily dismissed. Well… with proper timing and the right changes… perhaps this technique could find some use.

Saikederikku was according to one of Shuu’s clan members, “a total trip.” What that entailed Shuu wasn’t really sure. The clan member had not wanted to expand upon his comment. Shuusui doubted its effectiveness as the cousin had thoroughly enjoyed his applications of the technique.

”Adequate, if mostly useless.” Shuusui ultimately couldn’t resist commenting.

”I see. How is your Enchantment Genjutsu as a whole?" Inquired the Jounin.

Shuusui shrugged. He was as able with Enchantment as Illusory Genjutsu. That change the fact that as a whole they felt more like pranks than actual espionage or combat techniques. Some under to proper circumstances could be helpful, but as a whole… he really couldn’t wait to cut his teeth on some proper techniques.

Well, perhaps Shuusui wasn’t being perfectly fair. After all, Etainoshirenai no Oto would function to perfectly mimic the sounds of wildlife. In a forest, it would allow a shinobi to mask their approach if they accidentally made a noise by making it appear that an animal had done so. Course most used it to create a cacophony of animal sounds rather than focusing on just the one masking sound. Ill properly taught and ill used.

Hekireki Koe no Jutsu wasn’t actually taught at the Academy. It was used often though… by teacher’s. Shuusui had picked up the basics and had managed to replicate it. Much to the instructor’s abject dismay, thinking that Shuusui would let it propagate throughout the students. He hadn’t, which had resulted in several teachers looking the other way when Shuusui had played absentee student. All in all, a worthwhile investment of time on Shuu’s part.

Now, personally, Hibanahouden no Jutsu might not be a good fit for Shuusui himself. But the ability to make an opponent believe that they were riddled with static electricity was likely very useful to someone with a Raiton nature. If the opponent was a little unaware of how static electricity functioned, then it could certainly affect the opponent negatively. Might not even figure out it was an illusion in the first place.

Tsutaurushi no Jutsu was one of those prank techniques Shuusui kept internally referring to. It made one’s skin itch as if from poison ivy. Definitely annoying. Perhaps enough for one to be driven to distraction. Very obvious outside of certain regions where ivy was prolific, such as Earth Country. Furthermore, shinobi trained to deal with much more impairing conditions than itchy skin…

Kuuden creates the sound of static that affects the person hearing. In of itself, seemingly harmless. But in battle when your vision was obscured, hearing suddenly became a necessity. Kuuden impaired it. However, it was also fairly obviously the result of a technique. So Shuusui did have doubts towards its long term capabilities. Still it hadn’t bothered him too much to learn it.

Okuyuki Katawa affected the enemy’s sight. Not blindness, it was subtler than that. It would affect the depth perception of the victim. Making it harder to aim, as depth was critical function in ranged attacks. Not to mention affect the opponent’s reactions to such attacks as well. If they couldn’t properly estimate where a kunai was, they’d get hit. Afterwards, they’d have to overcompensate to correct the error in depth perception.

Shuusui was fond of Shihouhapou. From an intimidation perspective it could quite devastating. Shuusui was already plotting on how to use Shihouhapou in combination with vision limited techniques such as in Juurai Toorima to work on winnowing down the opponent’s will. Perhaps the perfect way to mislead an opponent to reveal an opening. By reacting to a phantom sound? Something to consider.

Shimaru Shikaku was good to help set-up ambushes or simply limit the enemy’s field of view. It was in fact a form of limited blindness. Very useful in a high pace combat. The harder it was for an opponent to maintain a wide-field view of the situation, the easier it was to set up a trap or trick to capitalize in that limitation. Definitely a technique to keep an eye on.

Konoha-Ryū Yanagi was in truth, better described as a supplementary technique. Rather than one with the ability to stand by itself. The technique required the movement of the user’s arms to trigger. It would then trick the opponent to see multiple arms. This could be devastating, if properly paired with a physical attack. Hindering the opponent’s efforts to properly block the attack. Slipping the real attack through their guard.

Magen: Jigoku Kōka no Jutsu with the proper set-up could be an effective trick. Without that set-up though… it was a little absurd. A sudden gout of fire descending from above was in itself difficult to swallow. In fact, Shuusui was often surprised how in practice it worked. If one kept calm, the illusion should self destruct in all honesty. But perhaps the visceral instinctive reaction at such a scene was simply more powerful than Shuusui expected.

Kiri no Jutsu was very similar to the Gensou Bunshin, an illusionary clone. The difference is that the Kiri didn’t truly count as a Bunshin technique. Since Shuusui had been focusing on perfecting the former, this one had lagged a little by comparison. Better to have a double that last a little longer than a simple charge.

Kiga no Jutsu was one of a pair of techniques designed to evoke a particularly devastating feeling. In the case of Kiga, that was hunger. Sudden, and consuming. It was difficult to think when overcome with that gnawing sensation. Shuusui knew firsthand, stupid survival training. Ultimately, however, Kiga failed when used on another Shinobi. Typical survival training included learning how to stave off or ignore hunger to get the job done. So, annoying but not debilitating. Nodono Kawaki no Jutsu was the other side of the that coin. Instead it replicated thirst. Just like Kiga, sudden and consuming. Distracting as you felt that your throat so dry it was cracking from the very hair you breathed. The issue was the same however. With enough experience with the sensation, you could muscle past it. Shinobi were trained to be able to push their limits like no other. Thirst would not slow them down enough.

”I have learned the basics, even picked the rare not taught versions.” answered Shuusui with a smirk.

"How about Genjutsu of the Instance type?" Inquired the Jounin.

The very nature of Instance Genjutsu was about enhancing one of the other types. It was burst, a whisper. Disappearing almost as quickly as it appeared. Shuusui felt that Instance were very situational in the moment detail. Something to add a little extra layer of detail to help trick the opponent into believing another genjutsu or create a momentary lapse in concentration to exploit. In truth, Shuusui felt the lack of breadth in Instance techniques belied their inherent fragility which weakened their use in combat. Instance style Genjutsu unlike the other two, were primarily intended for combat. Its inherent fragility was in truth a glaring weakness.

Raimei Wana Fuu was a trap genjutsu. An interesting concept at a minimum. Both the user and intended target would see the illusion. In truth, the technique was more a conditional genjutsu. When triggered, thunder would rumble. Alerting the user and unsettling the target. A complex alarm in truth. Much like most Instance techniques. Loads of lovely theory. Poor execution.

Suna Arashi no Odokemono would be a perfect technique... in Suna. It creates the image of a sudden sand storm, but was just as suddenly ripped apart. They sand would blind vision, irritate eyes. Make it seem that the victim was drowning in sand. With that said though, the simple act of rubbing their eyes was enough to dispel the illusion as they would realize there was no sand. To be sure the sudden onset blindness could be exploited but the timing could be considered tricky at best.

Etainoshirenai no Tsuujite created an odd effect. Creating the sensation of repetition or "deja vu" in its victim. In truth this was fairly benign and best executed from a position of utter stealth. In combat it was fairly useless and outside of it would require extremely important positioning. How useful it would be was to be a matter of some internal debate on Shuu's part.

Doro Shissaku no Jutsu Was in many ways like the Suna Arashi no Odokemono. Very terrain dependent. The sudden appearance of mud would be easy to disbelieve if the terrain did not lend itself to making such a thing possible. It made the opponent believe that they were standing on slippery mud. Other issues was that the technique was to be layered as a seal rather than on the supposed victim. All in all, very unwieldy.

Okkuu Chiri no Jutsu was quite similar to the Suna Arashi no Odokemono. The difference was that it made the opponent believe there was a speck of dirt or dust in their eye. In the case of this technique, simply rubbing one's eyes was not enough to break the illusion. However, it was more of a distraction as the singular speck was not enough to blind the victim. All in all, trade offs in comparison to the Suna Arashi no Odokemono resulted in two techniques that were inherently sub-par in effectiveness.

Shuusui could not believe that he had learned the Shonben no Jutsu. It simply made someone have the urge to relieve themselves. It was ill thought, ill made, and utterly inane. Shuusui had been forced to learn it, and he was going to do his best to forget it. He would never admit to having learned this technique. Much like the Iwa no Jutsu. The terrifyingly clever illusion of “sharp rock”. Shuusui almost rolled his eyes at remembering his utter disbelief in the technique's existence. Sure, perhaps the sudden appearance of a "sharp" rock might cause the Shinobi to in their instant of distraction, to trip over themselves. Shuusui highly doubted it. In fact, he hoped to never encounter such a ninja. Shuusui would almost pray for it not to happen.

Etainoshirenai no Tacchi was in Shuusui's mind an incomplete technique. It made the victim ignore or not realize the "touch" of an affected object. By itself, this technique had major flaws. However... if the technique were combined with other styles... Therein lay potential. A stab wound that the victim would inherently ignore would allow for say... poison to begin its sinister effects prior to the victim even realizing they had been stabbed in the first place. Shuu would definitely give this technique some thought in the future.

Shuusui could see how Onkyou no Jutsu could be useful. The sudden creation of a sound of his choice could not only help layer the effects of a different technique, it could also distract from his real attack. Definitely could have varied applications.

"I practiced and mastered the variuos techniques to my teacher's satisfaction.” replied Shuu.

"Seems like there's not much to cover here. Let's go over your weapon & physical training." Declared the Jounin.

Physical combat could be broken down into two general styles: Soft and Hard. Soft physical combat was about moving around an opponent, using their strength against them. Parrying a strike by deflecting the blow. Using their weight against them to send them flying. A way to nullify the opponent's strength without relying on your own. Especially useful if the enemy was in fact, stronger than you. The flip side to that was hard physical combat. Completely reliant on capitalizing on your strength to overpower the opponent. To take the punishment they threw out and meet it with an unbreakable defense. The worst insult you could make was not even budging when your enemy struck you with all their might. To laugh at that horror when their blow did nothing to you. Or the fear that would shine in their eyes when your own blow shattered through their block.

In combat, too many disregarded the mental. Focusing as they did on the physical capabilities of the combatants. If you persisted in maintaining a mental edge, it could result in gains that were directly applicable to the fight at hand. With proper thought an application, your combat abilities would be more effective. Well placed strikes with thought behind them, taking into account a variety of factors would allow for more efficient combat. In fact, to really unsettle an opponent, it was better to observe how they fight. Not only would it lead you to be able better read what move they'd make, but with enough observation... Well, with enough observation you could mimic how they fought. Perhaps not as well, since it was a shallow imitation. But sometimes that was enough. It could really get into a man's head if he saw a reflection of himself in his opponent. Especially effective if they know that you supposedly had no background/grounding in their combat style.

Projectile weapons covered many of the classic shinobi weapons: kunai, shuriken, senbon, etc. It also covered a variety of odder weapons, more... esoteric. Weapons such as throwing coins, sleeve rings, bows. All weapons reliant on range, aim, and steady hands. Shuusui had a strong fondness for these weapons. To him, they were quintessential aspects of a shinobi's arsenal. He very much was looking forward to mastering some of the more esoteric weapons. Even mastery in the classics would open up his arsenal in lovely ways. Besides... a well thrown kunai was capable of ending just about any ninja's career.

Small weapons were typically easily hidden. Much like projectiles. The difference lay in its use. These weapons would be primarily used in direct combat. A throwing dagger was balanced differently from a regular dagger. Subtleties that the typical layman would ignore but made all the difference for proper warriors. Shuusui preferred his fists and open palm strikes to these weapons. Partly because he had confidence in his hand to hand combat, partly because the style he was developing was ill-suited to holding weapons for long periods of time.

Medium weapons were the weapons that could be hidden with some difficulty. The Katana was a good example. Typically not hidden but of similar size to a cane sword, which was a hidden weapon. Many shinobi used such a weapons as these. Shuu abstained though he would admit an interest in their possibilities. Regardless, he felt little to no actual pull from these styles. Training in them however, would avail him some familiarity that would serve when he was on the defensive against such weaponry.

Large weapons were cumbersome and incapable of being hidden. in fact Shuusui considered them verging on ridiculous. These were the weapons of warriors, of Samurai, not shinobi. They were very distinctive and drew attention to themselves. Sure, there was much to be said of the variety of fighting styles available for such weapons. And, the benefit of range that they gave in close combat could be quite useful. It even had advantages for dealing with multiple opponents. Nevertheless, in Shuusui's eyes. This was a style of combat that should be neglected by proper shinobi.

Strange Weapons were... well it was amusing to consider why they were called as such. Typically a reference to improvised weapons, it did cover one variant of keen interest to Shuusui: explosives. Whether smoke, incendiary, paper, or other. Strange weapons they were and required an odd mentality. Some styles and even bloodlines were completely dependent on the proper applications of explosions. Something Shuusui knew firsthand given some of his family training...

"Faster!" barked one of his many "uncles" a term used for a variety of shinobi of the Uzumaki clan charged with the training of its latest heir. "You must be a shadow. Indistinguishable from the surroundings!" Typically, as with most student warriors, shinobi teacher's would find the strengths of the student and work to emphasize them. With Shuusui, he was expected to master all of it. Even at a young age Shuusui thought this to be a ludicrous idea. Why force him to learn or master aspects that he may be poorer at? Why not focus on developing a distinct approach that was suited to him? His various teachers however, also disagreed on what he should focus his talents. Some argued he was a taijutsu prodigy just waiting to be unleashed. Others argued that the sword was his given path. Or mastery of the various elements. In truth, the only thing they all agreed on was that for him to be a proper heir, he had to master Fuuinjutsu. Otherwise, what Shuusui could and should become was as varied as stars in the sky. His father had been the one to suggest smoke bombs, seeing firsthand Shuusui's fascination with the shinobi of old. Shuusui took to the training with aplomb, and fascination. The cunning of their forebears, the focus on espionage, sabotage, and infiltration intrigued him. Engaged his mind. Which is why, at this moment. Shuusui took out a pellet slamming it on the ground, "What matters if I lack in speed, if they cannot see me?!” he declared as the smoke billowed out to cover him.

"Arrogant brat." barked the uncle though not with any real venom. He searched for the young heir, quietly pleased. The perfect shinobi adapted to his opponent. If they were stronger, avoid his blows. Faster? Slow them down. Never engage your foe in the field of their choosing. Mold the battle so they had to meet you in yours. He felt a tap on his shoulder and grinned. Turning to the cheeky grin of his "nephew" he couldn't help but chuckle. "Well done, young lord."

Shuusui's focus snapped back to the situation at hand and the question. "I covered all the basics and started to explore what specialties I might cultivate.” he replied.

”Well then, you have learned all that you could at the Academy it seems." declared the Jounin. ”Now. Show me the fruits of that training. Show me that you deserve to be a true shinobi of the village!" he demanded.

Shuusui snapped into action, his finger's flew together as he shot out two of th 5 jets of Uo Tsuba. The Shinobi moved, ducking to the side to avoid the jets, and then moving forward. Shuusui anticipating this, flipped through Gensou Bunshin. The clones materialized into place vibrating out from his position. He was actually to the right, not the center, taking advantage of the technique. The Jounin focused on the middle one, striking it with a punch as Shuu released the remaining jets. The Jounin's fist flew through the clone, dispelling it as he was truck by the jets. Falling back he whirled towards the remaining "clones," shock clearly evident on his face. He and Shuu moved in tandem, with Shuusui finishing his technique just before the kunai left the man's hand. It sailed towards Shuusui and right past him. Missing him entirely. internally Shuusui chuckled. Okuyuki Katawa worked perfectly.

He approached the stunned Jounin and held a kunai to the man's throat. "Good enough?" he inquired.

The Jounin nodded, accepting his defeat. Sure he hadn't even been close to his full strength but he had been operating closer to a Chunin level than a Genin. Shuusui's performance had surprised him. ”How did you- I mean... Your clone. Why was I so sure it was you?"

Shuusui's eyes twinkled with mirth as he replied, "That would be telling."

                                                    • "I...really dun wanna..." gruff and unhappy the voice sounded from between the massive trees as a lone male soldiered through the once immense and great ( well he assumed ) gate. Mismatched eyes veered about with curiosity at the small appearances of old buildings twisted into various shapes due to the in growth and fluctuation of trees that had in general damaged the area. Visulization of what the place used to look like easily crawled through the sharp and keen mind of the worker who was generally paid to construct buildings, "Hmmm, it's gonna be a lotta work to even make this place liveable again." he grimaced at the idea of sticking around. Footsteps carried him to where there were a couple of people already there, damn his window of escape had closed already...wait they were too in tune with themselves they have yet to notice him. Perfect.

Slipping off to the side and heading around them, roughly twenty feet away he would take to directly ignoring the other two and tuning into his own practices. Chakra manifested slowly around his palm as he would easily dig his hand into the ground and grasp before straight up lifting a slab of hard ground from the earth. Rising a good five feet from the ground and solidifying as a solid base he would smirk, "Kay." he murmured leaving the wall standing before he would repeat the process and lay that piece flat on the ground and push it flush against the other. Fingers shifted as metal started to form along the skin of his arm and slide off as he manipulated it, the metal slid along the top of the stone slabs and thinned out to dip into the small crack between the base and the wall. Imagining the metal drilling into both pieces he would soon hear a rather loud sound of the metal piercing into the stone, soon enough he would thicken the metal and create hooks to contract both pieces together. When he felt satisfied he stood up and gave a hard shove at the rock wall which barely teetered, he'd proceed to work on the small project to soon create a literal box of stone.

Focusing on a single finger he would produce a knife with a jagged edge that ran similar to a chainsaw's blade and he would begin to carve the stone and create a doorway into the dark box. Once finished the cut slab fell forward and he would let it fall back to the earth, "It's pretty sturdy..." he murmured as the metal that wasn't left into the making of the small box house retreated back into his skin. Dust covered him as he checked around for anything he missed, but found the building to be pretty sturdy, "Could make it a lot bigger though...next time not out of stone." he muttered looking down at his palm that had metal shavings slowly forming and rolling into a ball, "A house of steel would be pretty cool." he snorted to himself completely unaware of his surroundings.

Sonyo made her way back to the keep, drawing the cotte that Lohner gave her tighter around her shoulders in an attempt to keep her warm. It was nice, and smelled of whatever Lohner smelled of. Stopping in front of the little corner of the keep that she claimed as her own, she found that none of her supplies had been ticked off the list. The young woman let out a groan, her shoulders slumping. How in the hell was she going to do this? How was she going to take care of a whole village on her own? Dread created a pit in her stomach, deep enough to swallow all the sand that made up Shu. And to make it all worse, she had lost all the herbs that she had collected when she dove off the waterfall to save Loh.

Sonyo flopped in the middle of her makeshift clinic and stared at the stone ceiling far above her. She closed her hazel hues, taking in a deep breath, and let her feel the energy of nature flow around her. She imagined this is what the mother felt like-- amazingly warm and comforting, with strength and danger right at the edge. She cast away her doubt and opened herself to the nature chakra, she herself wasn't able to gather or mold it but she hoped it would send her prayer out. "O, hear me, dear Mother... I... I-I know it's been a while since I last prayed. I'm sorry for that. It's been a wild ride..."

From the attacks on Uzu to her own business out of the village, trying to create a save haven to prevent issues just like this one, she had been a busy jinchuriki. Sonyo cleared her throat and continued, "Please give me the strength to heal and give haven to these people who have lost everything they have. I am... only one person, but I will try till my legs feel like led and I can no longer move my hands-- for I am your emissary of healing in this world and I will do everything in my power to continue being so.." She opened her eyes to once again look at the unfeeling stone, a frown finding it's way to her face again. She got up off the ground, taking Lohner's Cotte off her shoulders and placing it on one of the makeshift tables before beginning to get to work on making her clinic look somewhat presentable.

As she returned from a thorough investigation of a nearby beehive Honey was forced to squint through the crowd looking for her Saekki, only to find him partnered up with… well to be fair she didn’t rightly know what but what did she did know was that it looked vaguely feminine. Lamenting her woe’s in her mind Honey knew full well that this day would come even had she dreaded it’s existence! Perhaps it was still within her power to redirect down another path! Barreling through the grass like a boulder on the loose Honey slowed herself down to a brisk walk so that she could sandwhich the white and red creature between herself and Saekki.

Watching the movements between the two however Honey's face looked... confused? From where she came from it was a common occurrence as well as expected that the male perform the mating ritual of forcing the female to submit, but she couldn't for the life of her remember if humans were the same way. Then there was the problem of his form! It was all wrong! There's no way Saekki could pin the woman down like that. In a stance halfway between sitting and standing Honey stood in judgement, more than ready to step in if needed. She still didn't want me mating but at the same time she couldn't watch him embarrass himself this bad.

As Sonyo rose from the ground, she would briefly feel a force help her to her feet. Her body would feel a subtle warmth as though she was being embraced by another. The gentle drifting of fingers moved down Sonyo's arms until they felt like a ghostly presence wrapping into the woman's hands. Nature chakra pulsated softly as it echoed through the makeshift clinic she had set up for herself. Although it was not much, the Mother did what she could for her most devout servant. As the sensation of physical compassion left Sonyo, an overwhelming feeling of tranquility would reside within her. She would know that her prayers were answered. She would know that her power was enhanced.

The sky was nice to stare at it and more so through leafy limbs. Standing in one place didn't make anything happen, however, and Sadayo was wanting just about anything to happen. With a tug on her strings, the lingering white puppet quivers, rattles, and flows after the puppeteer's determine steps toward the young lady she hardly knew as anything more than Lahlil.

"I'm ready." The puppeteer spoke up, finally, firm and head high. Attempting to snare Lahlil's (be the real or not) attention was more than just baiting interest with a serious somebody standing at the ready. As the puppeteer takes a filling breath, raising her shoulders to create that distinguished look of a highbrow warrior, she compels a distracting rattling noise from Gishin's cloaked joints. "More than ready. Where will you have me?" The puppet floating about behind its Mistress looks more alive and whirling than the presentable, dignified human controlling it. The sun bouncing off the puppet's metal hat, its powdery curtaining hair fluttering with the tack-tack-tacking underneath its dress would make it a distracting sight, if anything.

User ImageOh ho ho ho. Honey was such a smart bear to predict ahead of time that Saekki was going to embarrass himself this bad. Saekki knew as much himself. He hadn't simply followed this lizard woman to the arena idly. He had spent that time sizing up his opponent, and suffice to say... He didn't find her all that impressive (at least not as she was now) but knew that even this much was far more than what he could handle since almost losing his life. Nonetheless, he continued to smile cockily at Makara as the two faced down, a sharp canine revealing itself.

Oh, and that nerd in the corner building his shack was, as he hoped, unnoticed and ignored. Saekki was about to get into a fight, and even if he figured he'd get beaten black and blue, he felt excited just for the opportunity to get his blood pumping.

Only when Saekki noticed Honey coming up behind the salamander human did his expression change. "Ah," Saekki showed a delighted smile, "Honey, you found me," and already able to tell what she was thinking from the faces she pulled, he assured, "Look, I found a sparring partner. Be a dear and help me find a hospital if I'm beaten black and blue." For Saekki, having been an orphaned b*****d raised on the rough and tumble streets, this was reassurance. Nothing wrong with a few bruises or broken bones. It built character.

    • Strange Weapons
"Now...," his gaze and smile sharpened when it snapped back to Makara. Wanting to see just how much of his strength had recovered, Saekki charged forward with a burst of speed, both hands held out to the sides with fingers curved like a tiger's claws. He leaned hard to the left (his left) on the approach and pulled his left hand back as if to swipe. Instead of a claw attack, however, Saekki instead scraped his hand against the floor of the arena to throw up sand into his opponent's eyes. [1/1]

    • Hard Formless
Then, regardless of whether or not his dirty trick worked, Saekki showed that the lean left was just a feint, and with pure force, he shifted to his right instead of stepping to the left like it looked like he would do. Crossing his legs over each other to attack Makara's side, his right hand held its claw shaped form rigidly and swiped with as much force as the attached arm could muster. His rounded and neatly maintained fingernails wouldn't cause much scratching, and likewise, they wouldn't be stripped off if his strike went wrong. This, alone, used to be a formidable strike. Now, though, well... Saekki had regained some strength, yes, and he had resumed his training. However, despite his size, his placement in the academy was embarrassingly fitting his current physical abilities. [1/1]

"Feck me?! Feck you, you ruddy shite head." "Tch. You wished you could even feck yerself cod swallop, fancy you'd shag anythin with two legs on er." "I'm telling ya you dense harlot, give me the bod a I'll get us where we needs goin.""An I'm tellin you ya daft pig fecker that you aren't gunna do nun better." "Swear on mum she didn't raise ya ta be a brat." "Swear on pa he didn't raise ya to be a betch but here you is betchin." A brother and sister duo bickering amongst each other. One with their arms crossed appeared to have manifested itself out the others back. Although floating in a spirit like manner. "Swear I'll split this like a fresh nanner on day two before it starts showing spots." "WELL AVE AT IT THEN! ITS MY STOMPERS ACHEIN NOW INNIT!" "I knew it. You were just saving face. Your face said it all. Lil sis and her delicate tootsies are all tuckered out." the sister would grab her brother by his nape to which he'd raise his hands in surrender. You wanna walk? Then, Walk. Callously said, what appeared to be a sudden yank and it was the brothers form that became physical while the sister attached herself unto him in the manner he had formerly.

"I really ought to watch what I say." Demetrius would say rubbing the back of his neck while his sister manifested herself with her back to him You gunna move or nah? "Pip pip cheerio off to grandmothers house we go then." Demetrius would then do an about face and start walking the opposite direction with an exaggerated stiff long monster like stride before his sister would snap his neck back into the other direction. To which he'd sigh. "Fine." "There may be people there." "Yeh DEAD people." A smack to the back of his head in which he recoiled grabbing the back of it biting his lip. "Giddyup horsey." "Razzafrazin slave driven.." "You asked for this knobhead. You know you still love me." "Pfff. What I'd LOVE is for you to shaddup." "You'd get bored from it being too quiet eventually. " "Yeah..I totally would." "Hate ya bro." "Hate you to sis." the duo would say without any aggression toward one another knowing fully what the other really meant. With one again leading the pair they'd venture on into what was now the regions of Konoha. Whom they'd run into? A mystery.

              Zahara
              Half-Blood Hyuuga

              ... I am the Serpent ...

            • A coup during a two attacks upon the hidden whirlpool? He huffed quietly, a mix of conflicting emotion still moved through his mind. Within just the span of twenty four hours or less, he gave his life to this now thankless task of securing the scroll and more questions were raised than answered. Religious zealots and gatherers were not in his favor to be well liked, nor was this woman been in good graces yet he would need to trust the stranger longer. He lost everything because of this dedication that he didn't understand, a sense of commitment that was elusive to grasp and only a sense of morality of doing the right thing drove him on.

Zahara kept a close eye on the woman's wound, her state was not ideal to continue the trek from wherever they had wound up but he made sure to aide her. His ivory eyes were alive, the tensed muscle around the the face as he surveyed the area and found chakra to be in abundance. The findings he kept a mental note as the duo peeled away from what he saw to be the larger majority of the refugees some kilometers off, his vision picking out each person as if he were right there.

It was a serpent that was spoken of that Zahara focused on, uncaring of the details except he connected the pieces of the jumbled mental puzzle together. When Kassandra revealed the scroll's contents, the Samehade chirped away as if the object was of a new source of energy. He looked back at the blade resting across his back on the sling, it shook and quivered in a strange manner as she explained more of what the task had been. Why... Zahara closed his eyes and heaved out a heavy sigh as he gripped the collar of his cloak and pulled it up as he considered the situation.

I don't understand this situation at all. But she needs my help, and this is an internal conflict between her order and others who seek this serpent. Hmm. Guess to choose the lesser evil. Zahara mentally tracked a figure as the elder woman spoke, a stalking predator with a massive bulk. Quietly anticipating, the cloak he held tightly in his hand fell away as he left the sentient blade clatter to the ground with an annoyed shrill from the weapon. Another of her order had found the duo, Zahara's blank eyes settling upon the abomination of nature with a tilt of the head as he listened to their exchange. Barnabas was the thing's name and was, or had, been her superior in some way.

He cracked a smile finally when a comment of being a bodyguard was made by the ferocious beast. In a sense, it was true but far from the scope of his situation as Zahara could see and even feel the pressure of chakra. A threat was made but now Zahara set his attention upon the reptile humanoid, eyes searching for weakness as they bloomed with chakra. "Let's not croak just yet, I got questions for you." Zahara quipped as he let his chakra vent out, cloak billowing from the sudden surge as he took the initiative as he broke into a sprint with the shunshin ability to nigh instantly close the distance. He moved right within the imposing man's range as the Hyuuga's left arm was pulled back with a sharp hook as wisps flicked off the man's knuckles and if he were to connect with the target, a flash of white chakra would erupt from the moment of impact as Zahara would turn the blow into a palm strike. The combined force of the One Blow Body and Palm Thrust techniques were fused together as every tenketsu of his body vented out to provide the chakra for this single strike. It would first eradicate the currently active flow of chakra while initial impact of his palm would internalize the trauma of the damage and wreak havoc upon the body's nervous system to paralyze his body for a moment while the rush of chakra would push the man back a few feet to recreate the distance between them.

[A-Rank One Blow Body (Spirit), defeats ninjutsu/spirit of its rank and lower. B-Rank Shotei -> Temporary paralysis of torso/stun of the body for a second. Techniques korabo'd to blow back the man 25 Feet as per One Blow Body's scaling, disable its current technique if applicable and create a short term stun of its central torso (whatever the hell that does. Just say knocks the wind outta them for a second if this even connects). Chakra emitted from hand is protected from any residual or damaging effects due to One Blow Body]

Makara sat down and watch them speak while she own mouth would move. She began to try and mimic Saekki though without speaking as he talked to another animal...nothing weird about that whatsoever. Eventually he would face her again as Makara would look at him with confusion, only for him to sorry towards her. She rolled onto all fours, her massive tail at the ready for his strike. At least, for that attack.

He swiped downwards, spraying dirt and other stuff in her eyes as she grunted, wiping her eyes ferociously on her arm to try and get everything off in time. To defend against anything, her tail would sway in the pattern of a rooster seal, her irises dilating as senses would increase. The scent of Earth in the air, the sound of air trailing behind a strike. Makara jumped back to avoid the strike aiming to blindside her after the attempt on her vision. She bore her fangs, hissing at Saekki and then taunting him, pawing at the ground while her nails dug into the dirt.

Blood Moon Magic l Use of blood as a component can be quite costly no matter who or what you are, but the Saiketsu learned that their own Chakra need not be the only fuel for their jutsu. Especially when it is so abundant. Blood Moon Magic allows a Saiketsu user to use the opponent's blood rather than just their own to fuel techniques the Saiketsu user uses so long as it's no longer in contact with the opponent's body and has been around for one post. Taking this Pa will grant a pair of fangs hearkening to the day of the blood moon and while not necessary will come with possible vampiric tendencies. Grants access to Kenketsu, and Chi - Saikuru.
