Preparing her second arrow, Kari lined up her shot.... only to find the target beginning to move as the fired!

Glaring at the gnome running the game, she was tempted to set something on fire with the apathetic shrug they answered with.

Actually... that gave her an idea. Summoning her staff, she figured if they were going to cheat, she could even the odds. Igniting the end, she sent a flurry of fire out to the target. It skittered and slid, trying to avoid the flames.

Kari continued to attack the target, herding it to a certain spot. As it neared the spot, the reaper rapidly dispelled her staff and took aim as best as she could.

Letting the arrow fly, she nearly whooped as she landed a bulls eye, causing the target to shriek out in pain. That would teach those rude little creatures to cheat.

After the difficult time she had with the previous two games, Kari was surprised to find how... normal the dance floor seemed. Eyeing the gnome in suspicion, Kari stepped up and took aim at the birds. Her staff swung under the green light, and the birds took off, not seeming to want to bother with dancing around her.


Tilting her head to the side, she didn't know what to make of it when no other surprise made itself known. "Well, that was... very anticlimactic."

The One Genre to Rule Them All

Result: 25-50: You find some sort of blade that looks like a key. This just angers the first gnome even more. Best leave it there.

There certainly seemed to be quite a lot of blades laying around the the hay. Was the ring really in there still? Or maybe the ring had already been found or stolen and no one bothered to tell the gnomes or Sludge. She hoped that really wasn't the case.

WHACK A WALKER

Result: 5/6 win

The panel was... sparking. It usually didn't do that. Turning her gaze towards the gnome running the game, Kari noticed a slight bruise forming around his eye. Looks like someone else had a bit more physical reaction to the rigging of the game. Luckily, it looked to still be playable.

The dolls began to click and whir as they seemed to struggle out from the holes that hid them, allowing the reaper to hit them at a leisurely pace. Once the fifth one was successfully hit, the machine sparked once more, then fell silent. Looks like the sixth zombie would stay in hiding.

Five was still enough for a win, though. The gnome threw the statue at her before crawling under the machine in, what Kari suspected, an attempt to fix it.

The arrows today didn't seem to look much better than the ones she used last time, but she was experienced with this problem. Doing some repairs, she fired the first arrow... which broke apart before just barely hitting the straw on the outer edges of the target.

Her second attempt fared much better, piercing straight through the middle.

Stepping onto the dance floor with confidence, Kari conjured her staff and lit the floor up. The orange haze aided her in camouflaging her attack until it was right on top of the birds, sending them into a feathered frenzy to get away and earning her another statue.

Result: 75-100: You found the ring! "The one ring to rule them-" "I SWEAR TO JACK" They start to argue. Sludge gives you a golden dragon coin in exchange for the ring.

"Got it!", Kari exclaimed, holding up the stubborn little circle high in the air. Before the gnomes could make any comments or start another fight, for whatever reason, the ghoul hustled over to Sludge and handed over the ring. She heard one of the gnomes shriek in protest as she was leaving, no doubt prompting another round of bickering.

Result: 4/6 win

Guess the game got fixed Kari thought upon returning to the whack a zombie game. Gripping the mallet, she waited for the game to begin. She wasn't too surprised when the first one came and went faster than she could react, but she was able to successfully land ever hit afterwards save for the last one. Four was still a good score, in any case.

Wow... she actually had some decent arrows this time. Notching the first one, she was pleased to see they worked as great as they looked, hitting the center in the first shot.

As the red light fell over the dance floor, Kari got that strange feeling again. Once more, she set the area ablaze, completely clearing out every bird... and the gnome running things, as well. Luckily, they had dropped a statue in their haste to get away.

Result: 1-25: You immerse yourself in the hay and find nothing. Except hay.

Kari was mildly surprised when her search in the hay once more yielded absolutely nothing of note. Had the pile been completely cleaned out? If so, why were the two gnomes still yelling at each other and why was Sludge still hanging around?

Kari would've thought she had this down by now, but the machine pushing the dolls up and down decided it wanted to vary the speeds a bit. As a result, the surprised reaper barely managed to scrape by with three hits. At least it's a win, I suppose...
