“Chevalier Brahne!”, the Marine recruiter would scream within the lobby of Marine HQ. Chevalier would get up from her blue, metal chair and walk towards the counter. The recruiter woman would have a dull face, doing this day by day. “You’re Marine badge is ready. Take this and keep it on your person at all times. Here is your Marine order den den mushi. Use this to alert fellow Marines if you are ever in trouble. Take this folder as well, it will have information on who your superior is to be. Find them, report to them, learn from then, blah blah blah. You know the drill. Just don’t go out there and get yourself killed.”

Chevalier would look the woman in the eye, nodding to let her know that she was listening. “Yes ma’am. I’ll do my best!” She would take her marine items and begin to walk out. She would be interrupted though before leaving. “Don’t forget to take a lone man boat as well. You don’t get anything bigger than that!” She, again, would nod and walk outside of the lobby. She would walk and look at the folder that was given to her. There was a file on a person that was to be her superior.

“Hm, gender… female. Name… Astraea Tethys. She’s currently a lieutenant junior in the marines. She must have a lot of repour around here.” Chevalier would scratch her head some, wondering what the person would be like. An attachment of her picture would be in the file as well, so she could recognize her when she saw her.

She was very well trained with swords, though, in order to keep her appearance as a new comer to the marines she had to abandon her old armor and sword. It was about time anyway, she wouldn’t want anyone to recognize her. Plus, she knew as a knight she would have to maintain and create her own weapon and armor. This is just a tradition, of sorts, so that the knight could build more of a bond with their weaponry.

From there, she would take some time to go and inspect her ship. Perusing the dock, she would see a lot of ships coming and going, though, she would see on the far-left side of the docks. It had a yellow slip of paper which matched the one on in her folder. This was her ship. She would climb aboard and see that it literally was a ship for one person. She would be a bit flustered at the fact. “The marines could have at least given me a bigger ship. Where am I going to put all of my make-up, armor, weapons, etc.!?”

While she was aboard her ship, she would hear a voice from the far end of her ship. “So, it seems you have found your ship. Great job newbie!” Chevalier would turn around and see an older looking man in a suit. His long white hair would speak of a white winter, and he would speak in a slow tone. “Chevalier Brahne, 30 years of age, and a swordsman.”, the old man would read from her file. Chevalier would cross her arms and look to the man with a bit of an impatient look.

“Okay old man, so you’ve done your research. Why are you on my ship?”, Chevalier would say to the man. Her attitude would begin to become prominent. The old man would begin to walk towards her, drawing his blade. “Shi no tenshi calls for your arrival.”, the old man would say as his eyes would take on an eerie black, dull glow. Chevalier immediately knew what this monstrosity was. It was the manifestation of someone’s deep reservoir of darkness. Then, the Angel of Death, also known as Shi no Tenshi, would infest someone’s soul. By this manner, is what murder, rape, and crime would occur.

Chevalier was all too familiar with the concept, and the Angel of Death’s existence. He, or she, is a prideful one, and not having her soul was something driving him crazy. “If my soul is something you think you can take Death, I suggest you come up here and take it yourself!” She would draw her blade, and run at the man. Her Marine-issued sword wouldn’t be what she was used to, but she had to the play the role for now. The old man and Chevalier would clash blades, and the combat would begin.

They would both send a flurry of sword slashes, ending with them clashing one last time. The old man would leap backwards and land on another ship. Seeking to end the man where he stood, Chevalier would leap to the other boat with him, showing her incredible strength. Her strength came from her dead nerves, completely numbing the pain she felt and allowing her to push herself way further than the normal human.

Coming down with another slash, Chevalier would slash an entire chunk of the ship clean off. This part would slide into the ocean and the ship would fill with sea water, sending it sinking into the ocean at a rapid rate. The two would stare at one another and run with their weapons drawn off the boat, leaping to safe ground on the docks. From there, the battle would continue.

The old man would scream, lifting his neck back to the heavens. Then, his fit of rage would have him rush towards Chevalier to stab her with his blade. Ultimately, the blade would reach her, and it would be plunged through her chest. Though, there was some miscommunication between Death and his thrall. Chevalier cannot be killed. Not only is she a zombie, but her regenerative powers are unmatched. She would smile at the old man while having the sword within her and grab the hilt of hers. She would use all of her might to deliver a slash to the thrall’s neck while he was defenseless, due to his sword being in her body.

The strike would reach his mark and the old man’s head would come clean off, falling to the ground and rolling to the feet of another Marine. The black glow would leave the heads eyes, and Chevalier would sheathe her Marine-branded sword and close her eyes. She would take the sword out of her chest, and the wound would seal itself up almost instantly. The other Marine would see this, and say, “Well, I watched that whole thing. I won’t deny that you have great combat ability. Could I travel with you? I want to become strong like you one day!” The Marine would be a young boy, looking to have himself become a strong Marine himself. Chevalier would look to him and smile. “You may. What is your name? I am Chevalier Brahne. What purpose do you have with the Marines?”, Chevalier would say extending a hand to the boy. The boy would reach out and shake her hand. “My name is Sanbun Lahn. I have no other purpose but to get strong to protect the people I love. Loguetown, my home, was raided by pirates and beasts and my family was killed, all except myself and my sister. She was taken by a group of pirates, and I want to be strong enough to save her!”

Chevalier was able to feel his story. “It seems we have a grand adventure on our hands then Sanbun. We will travel and I will help you find your sister. Just know the road will not be easy.” Indeed she was right, for many foes and different weapons would come at them in the coming times.

XXXA short child sat on one of the long sofas in the main hall of the marine headquarters. A box of juice hung cradled in petite fingers as those small, pale hands were raised to lips lowering towards a waiting straw. The young girl noisily emptied the nearly depleted juice as her sapphire eyes roved over the nearly empty hall. There were some attendants milling about, but for the most part the headquarters were eerily quiet. Not normally this deserted, Anahel flicked a golden lock from her heart-shaped face as she wondered where the rest of the marines were. In particular, she was curious where her older sister was. A slender arm raised as she shook her wrist to expose an ornate silver watch, one of the only gifts she had received in her life, to check the time. Mmmm. . . thirty minutes late. Heavy boots kicked back and forth, just barely out of reach of the marbled floor. A large, canvas bag was laid on the ground near Anahel's feet with a relatively large rifle lain across the straps. Both articles were emblazoned with the initials "AVK", embossed in golden leaf. Light glared off of the child's amber hair, illuminating the red highlights in her thick, mussy mane. Motes of dust danced in that same light, revealing that the headquarters were not as spotless as one might expect. Much like the marines themselves. Though Anahel was nothing but a chore-girl now, she was making elaborate plans to clean-up the marines then move on to the rest of the world. There was no need for indolent soldiers and the world itself had no demand for the freebooters that plagued its waters. Yes, the drive was there but not the means. The resources. Not yet anyways. If only her sister would be on time, then they could work to build up their power base.

XXXBare feet pad across the cold stone floors of the Blues sanctioned Marine Headquarters. Though rather barren for what should be a major facility for counteracting the Pirate threat, there doesn’t seem to be many people around. Or rather, where is everyone? Sharp apathetic eyes looks back and forth, taking in the surroundings. For this place would soon be the new home for both she and her sister. The woman, nearly in the nude, moves through the base aimlessly. With only small sections of a strange substance covering key portions of her frame, what few Marine that do happen to be around all have their eyes glued to the woman. A scenario like this doesn’t happen all too often, or rather, not at all. So no one knows exactly how to handle this. Arrest her? Or… Regardless, just with every other time, the woman would soon move out of sight and down another corridor leading to gods knows where. Eventually it gets to a point where she stops and places her hands on her hips. Her expression never changing, she tilts her head back to stare at the ceiling and think. What had she been walking around for again? Where the heck was she going?

After a few minutes lost in thought, it finally dawns on her. Right, her sister was waiting on her. With a light exhale, she once against starts walking forward, not really knowing where in the world she is going to even meet her sister. But well, she’d get there eventually if she keeps moving, probably. After some time she winds up in a room filled to the brim with beds and pillows everywhere you look. Though they don’t seem all too comfortable, they should be soft enough. And so, she picks one, lays down, slides her hands behind her legs, kicks one leg up over another, and takes a nap. She can’t even imagine how much time has passed by now, but eventually she does wake up only to see a group of men standing around her. One crouched a bit over her, with one of her breasts pressed between his hand. Startled, the man fumbles backwards and scrambles to get off the bed.

One of the others exclaims how he knew it was a bad idea or something, while the others back up not really knowing what to expect. The woman sighs before sliding her legs off the side of the bed, sitting up and yawning. With no change to her face, she stands and heads for the door. But as she starts to pass the sexual harasser, she points to his face, never looking in his direction. “Go see a Doctor.” she says before leaving the room. The men all look at each other confused, thinking she was insulting his mentality in having groped her, but no. Moments after she leaves, the man’s flesh starts turning blue, his eyes roll back, and foam seethes from the open orifice of his head. In the end, she finds her way into a more open space where she notices a familiar face sitting there like a good child. A light sigh of relief escapes her as she walks over and sits next to her sister, staring forward to nothing in particular. “Got lost.” she says, letting that be the only form of explanation she can muster up. Before them, a group of soldiers would run by with a stretcher. And on top of it is the man from earlier, with a progressively worsening condition.

XXXA gurney sped by on squeaky wheels, an asphyxiated man gasping his last breaths his face completely blue as a team of medical professionals tried their best to save him. They were throwing around technical jargin that Anahel didn't understand, but she watched with curious eyes as the bed swung around the corner and past her. Her head swiveled as it screeched by, one of the first responders squeezing a bag hooked into the unfortunate patient's arm. Something about getting anti-biotics into his system as quickly as possible. "A rapidly growing fungal infection." They murmured amongst themselves as they turned the corner, trying to resuscitate the dying man. Moments later the tall figure of Ishilde would saunter over and sit down next to Anahel, as calm and steely as ever. As usual, Ishilde stared blankly ahead as she spoke a rather poor excuse for being so late. The words that slithered from Ishilde's lips were as dry as the Alabasta desert. Anahel, though rightfully annoyed, simply turned and smiled adorably up at her beautiful, big sister. A cheerful simper spread from one cheek to the other, those wide, baby-blue eyes narrowing as the grin split her face into the visage of a leering, sharp-toothed beast. "Oh schwester, you're so silly. Kehehe." Anahel giggled as she tilted her head to the side, standing on the sofa to be at eye-level with the taller blonde. The nearly empty juice-box was crushed in one of her tiny hands, orange liquid dripping from between the pale digits and staining the fabric of the couch dark with moisture. That tiny fist trembled slightly as she smiled sweetly at Ishilde, her grin only growing more intense as she spoke through bared fangs. "Come! We have much work to do lieb schwester!" The small girl called as she hopped off the couch and shouldered her small duffel bag. With a practiced flip, Anahel swung her engraved rifle up against her shoulder and twirled on the ball of her foot. With an expert turn of her heel, she preformed a perfect right-face as she began to march down the hall only breaking step to incline her slender neck. A brief glance back with those baleful, blue eyes was all she needed to check whether her protective, and powerful, older sister was following.

This was enough time wasted. He had to get back.

Lone steps heavy but perturbed as his face was. Tresses of brown meshed with cerulean hues danced on by as women swooned and he, the Admiral himself, came walking through. Taking only single staved glances before acknowledging that he didn't have anymore time for distractions. The line called him and he'd wasted enough time playing father figure to one too many a marine. Yes, he loved seeing that things weren't stagnating but those pirate threats wouldn't stop themselves.

As he stepped through the masses, he'd finally be free while a palm was to his forehead. A sign escaping when thinking he'd made it out unscathed. That was, until-

OOF!

Smack dab did he smash into her with an audible thud. A transitioning smaller light haired girl with an interesting grimace. Clearly she was a marine and clearly he was in the wrong. "My apologies." He'd speak solemnly, helping the girl back up to her feet with a free hand. "Are you alright, Cadet?"

XXXIt doesn’t take much for the elder sister to relax. She’s had plenty of time to do that, given her personality and nature. Little sister does the yapping, and she does the papping. A fairly simple arrangement. Only when she sees the delight in her younger siblings face does she turn her head over a bit and smile. She completely ignores the unfortunate circumstance of the man affected by her power. In truth she could fix him right away, but to the hells with that. It’ll have to be a lesson learned for he and his buddies. The only problematic piece will be when the rumors start up. Well, that’s just a problem for future her. Once commanded to depart by none other than Anahel, she nods faintly. “Verstanden.” she replies, standing up and following behind.

The walk is, as always, drole and lacking in interest, but the cold beneath her bare feet is a welcoming change. The floor is flat and uniform, the temperature is nice, and she doesn’t need to concern herself with potential injures. Not like back then. Had she more time, most likely she would have started to count the bloody lines fashioned between the large square plates of cobblestone. Alas, the fates have other plans. Her sister ends up colliding into a much larger man which immediately gathers Ishilde’s focus. She shouldn’t have even let that happen! A blunder. One she will not make again. Moving her body, she holds out an arm between Anahel and the man. Though, for now, her expression shows no sign of hostility, she can’t ignore the possibility. “Geht es dir gut?” she asks, confirming her sister’s safety above all else. Her eyes remain staring into those of the Admiral’s, not knowing he is just that. An Admiral. But before it all, comes her sister.

XXXA rush of people entered the building suddenly and Anahel was nearly overrun by the sudden onslaught of bodies. She had been looking back at Ishilde when the immense front doors swung open and a gaggle of marines burst in. Too short to be noticed by anyone, Anahel was nearly trampled into the tiled floor. Had it not been for the fact that a man sighing in exasperation bumped into her. The small girl bounced off the man's hip with an audible thud and was sent sprawling across the smooth ground. The rifle on her shoulder was sent clattering over the ground, her bag up-ended and vomiting the contents as it rolled end over end. "Autsch!" Yelped in surprise, embarrassment and pain. Oh God! Those were her clothes spread across the entire lobby! Tears quickly welled in the corner of those beryl hues as she looked up with a scowl. Her brow furrowed at the proffered hand as she looked from the man's polished boots up to his wild locks of hair. A dignified voice emanated from the much taller individual as she took his hand and was pulled to her feet. Once the soles of her boots were once again planted firmly on the ground and she was thoroughly dusted off did she finally look to see who the offended party was. Verdammt! A horrified expression would quickly spread over the younger sister's youthful face. She had just unintentionally bumped into an admiral! Her career was over!! "Yessir! I am quite alright sir!" She snapped to attention, saluting the man as her expression became that of a thousand-yard-stare. As soon as she was allowed to be at-ease, Anahel would turn to her sister and answer the older woman's question with a cute smile. "Mir geht es gut." The smile wasn't quite right though, as if she was trying to communicate something by concentrating really hard. Maybe if she smiled hard enough and stared long enough, Ishilde would be able to read her thoughts. 'This is an admiral schwester! Respektiere ihn!' Her brain practically screamed behind manic eyes.

Well it seemed the girl was alright for the most part, though the look in her eyes as she stared at him when getting to her feet did throw him a bit off. Staring back, as if being challenge, he said not a word to her salute. It was like he was waiting for something.

Oh, right.

"At ease soldier." He'd exclaim plainly, giving a light nod. Maybe he was peering through the girls soul with his steeled eyes. Maybe he was wondering what he was going to eat for dinner? Maybe it was neither. Maybe it was both. Who knew? Staying steady for the moment, a sudden interjection by another. . half naked woman, threw him for a loop. Again he stared between the duo, wondering what in the hell was going on here. ". . Are you a new recruit?" He'd speculate to the less appareled one, then back to the other he'd knocked over.

"You're supposed to be in full uniform. All entry level marines are required to sport the traditional low cut, martial shirt with white and blue ensemble to show you're pride as a member of the greatest establishment in the world. Are you disrespecting the marines, cadet?" His patience was thin and with little tact.

XXXIshilde stands there, firm and unyielding until those words leave her sister’s lips. Afterwhich is lowers her arm and turns back, staring down to the younger girl, confirming her words with her own eyes. After ensuring she is in fact safe, a sigh slips from her nostrils as she steps to the side silently. Only when addressed by the Admiral himself does her focus return. Once again it’s about her choice of clothing, or lack thereof. The arm uncorrupted by her fruit rubs the back of her head slowly as she looks away from the larger man and towards a wall. “...Clothes… are a pain.” she gets out, thinking about how her powers would just ruin them anyways since she lacks full control over them yet. This much due to dear old dad mentally ruining her. Though such memories she represses as much as possible, since even passing thoughts of those times brings her fear. “Gets destroyed...every time. Nervig.” she claims, not really having much else to add. And even this much she only spoke due to the strange look her sister is giving her. Usually meaning she should be good, or show respect.

In several quick minutes, Anahel managed to completely pack her delicates back into her canvas bag. She quickly swung her bolt-action rifle back on to her shoulder and turned to face the two taller individuals. Ayon was currently confronting Ishilde about her missing clothes. Ishilde voiced her annoyance as Ayon's speech betraying his annoyance and lack of patience. "Sir! Herr Ayon! Me and mein schwester were on our way to rout some pirate scum." The girl suddenly piped up with a far-too-wide grin. The young pre-teen beamed up at the admiral as she talked, her feet still at a roughly fourty-five degree angle as she bounced on her heels. 'Mein Gott! I can't believe Ich rede mit meinem Helden!' Anahel was losing her mind, practically shaking as she looked up at her hero. "Wie machst du das?! How do you become an admiral sir?!" The girl's voice cracked as she forgot her decorum, too excited to restrain herself anymore. The reality was hitting her, that she was talking to an admiral. The position she pined for above all else.

The look on his face said it. He didn't particularly like what she was telling him, but if she'd gotten off this long without any problems he'd supposed there was a special case for her. ". . Hmph. At least wear a jacket or a cap. Something to show the pride that you bare on your back every day." Slowly shifting his view from one girl to the other, he'd taken note that this one was far more excitable. A little manic, but that mattered little. As long as she was crazy for justice! "Becoming an Admiral? It is simple, Cadet!" He'd suddenly strike a salute, looking to the flag not too far away. "Strive to be the best marine you can possibly be and even you can rise to the highest of ranks with ease. With perseverance, tact, and good will, I see a future where you can take my spot. What is you name, girl?" He'd ask her openly, with a passion and flare burning within the back of his eyes.
