Xandria watched as both of her attacks were dodged by the man in the cloak, she assumed he was a man by seeing his build, but also another surprising thing was that he was quite nimble as well. She watched as her opponent step foward and tried to swing his sword upwards to cut her left arm in two, moving her left arm out to the left side to just avoid his strike that was going up. Since he was a bit closer now Xandria stepped closer too, but she lifted her left foot onto his chest first then put some pressure onto it as if she was going to lift off of his chest. But as she was lifting up she moved her right foot to make a kick to his chin at the same time performing a back flip off of his chest to gain some space from him. Once she landed her back flip she wasted no time to make an another attack, activating her Busoshoku Haki she covered her right foot to her calf in an invisible armor first. Then performed a spinning hook kick with her left foot aiming at his face; during the kick she made sure her hands were close to her body and once she did land back she watched every movement he made to counter wanting to be prepared.

With their sword swipe dodged they made an attempt to sway back but the momentum of their swing still lingered. Firefly felt the counter to their chest as the Marine hiked off of it in an acrobatic fashion. their head craning back once more to avoid the first kick directed at their chin, however it did throw the cloaked figure off axis just long enough for the blonde to land and follow up with a hooking kick to the face. However, while they could see this attack coming and could've made an attempt at dodging, they instead took the blow. Accepting and soaking in the damage yet they turned their head in the same direction as the kick to lessen its, otherwise jarring, impact.

Unfortunately for the blonde, while guarding her body was smart, the assailant instead went for the leg immediately after the kick connected. They pain was real but they wouldn't reel back from it, the rush of adrenaline prevented that much. With their free hand they'd latch onto the woman's ankle before giving her the chance to retract it. This would probably force her off kilter longer enough for Firefly to sweep the Marine's planted leg from under them with their own swipe of the foot to send her to the ground. If so, then Firefly would proceed to reap their blade down to stab the downed woman in the chest, just below her right shoulderblade.

Expecting to bring her foot back down, instead her foot was caught by him and felt her ankle being grabbed, she looked with a frown as her footing was off now. Not being able to defend his sweep kick she ended up falling to the ground and watching as the person loomed over her with her sword raised in the air. She would be able to stop the blade with both hands but the blade wasn't coming down in the middle it was aimed at her shoulder instead. Feeling the sword stab just below her right shoulder blade she let out a loud yell of pain but instead of writhing in it she acted quickly. Forming an invisible shield around her right hand she used her right hand to grab his sword and pulled it off of her shoulder blade struggling a bit since he was pushing down on it. But being able to pull it out she quickly moved the sword to her right in attempt to off balance him making him lean down a bit, as well as using the grabbed sword to sit up from it so that she could move her left fist and make a left jab to his face. Then letting go of the sword with her right hand she immediately followed it up with a right hook to his face with the haki still around her right hand. After making the attack she quickly rolled to her left a few feet and quickly stood up with a kip up and landing back on her feet; placing her left hand on her wound she frowned a little then looked back at her opponent still showing that she was ready to fight. But she didn't go straight into him fearing that he was just acting like he was hurt and would end up tricking her and getting in some easy counter attacks, so she waited and watched carefully.

Ah, the sweet sensation of carved flesh.

Firefly watched their blade dig into the woman's shoulder, but before they could go to pull it out for another stab the woman gripped the brunt of the blade with a glassy fist; a hand layered in Haki it appeared. Firefly tried to push it back in to keep the blade impaled into her for awhile longer but was slightly overpowered from the woman's unexpected increase in strength. Once the blade's tip was removed and the blade yanked in an attempt to throw Firefly off balance, the veiled assassin processed this with just enough time to release the katana's handle entirely; yielding it over to avoid being reeled in. The woman's punch would strike air.

Instead, Firefly drew their second blade, a mirror image of the first but a bit more polished as it saw less bloodshed than its twin. Firefly stepped inward with another downward swing, striking the ground beneath them as the Marine managed to roll away and kick themselves back up onto their feet. However, the assailant didn't stop their assault. Instead of allowing for a brief respite to catch their respective breaths, Firefly briskly swept their blade twice in rapid succession. The first a diagonal slash aiming to carve through the woman's left shoulder and down to her right hip, the second was a follow up that swept up from the hip towards her right arm to try and lop it off at the shoulder.

Xandria watched as her opponent took out his second blade after letting go of his first one she continued to watch him, in truth she wasn't very much out of breath she was still ready to fight she felt some pain on her shoulder but nothing she couldn't handle. Her opponent took no time to attack her not wanting to let her breathe, but Xandria was ready for him. When he came at her with a diagonal slash she quickly made a short dash backwards to avoid the first attack but upon seeing his immediate second attack. Instead of dodging this second attack she went in using the quick backwards dash earlier to help her move in faster, as she was closer to him she used her right hand to grab his wrist to stop his slash before letting the blade move in the direction he intended, then made a uppercut punch to his stomach with her left fist. From here she quickly turned around still holding onto his wrist, moving her left hand around until she was grabbing his back collar, lifting with her hip to toss him up a bit she performed an over the shoulder throw, throwing her opponent to the nearest building wall.

An interesting counter.

The first swing of the blade was dodged while the second had been parried; rather, the woman stopped the swing's uprising by grabbing hold of Firefly's wrist. They had to hand it to her, the Marine was stronger than she looked. Though strangely enough she'd never hear a peep from Firefly, not a groan, not even a breath. Releasing the blade wasn't an option this time around and they needed the woman to release them to avoid being in such a disadvantageous position; the girl was clearly skilled in hand to hand contact.

So as the blow came to gut-check them, Firefly's mobility options were limited, however, instead of a defense they'd throw out a sharp left hook to collide with the woman's jaw at around the same time her punch would drill into the mercenary's stomach.

Had the blonde been persistent enough to still throw Firefly over their shoulder towards the nearest wall afterward then it'd occur. The surprisingly light assassin would be flung off towards the nearest wall, however, they'd regain their composure mid-flight. Their body poetically, acrobatically twisting and turning to readjust themselves so their soles faced the wall. A sudden aura danced around their person before breaking off into a flurry of cold blue fireflies that obscured their presence. Feet embraced the wall instead of crashing into it, pushing off from it, landing and taking off into a sprint. The swarm of fireflies fluttered about the area, hindering the woman's vision while chilling her body, masking the assassin's movement with their dance. Their body was leaned forwards into a slight crouch to lower their presence even further.

Quickly closing the distance of what started as around ten or so feet, Firefly had came in low from the front, but with a sudden jolt after pushing off of their dominant leg they would reap their blade through the woman's left side. Varving deep into gut and waist. The sudden lunging slash would leave Firefly in a bent position behind the Marine, back to one another as the fireflies dispersed into nothingness.

When Xandria came in to punch her opponent in the gut she also saw felt an impact hit her at the head that had landed but that didn't stop her from throwing her opponent tot he wall, as she watched him fly to the wall instead of smashing into it he seemed to shift in mid air and turn into blue fireflies. Her vision started to mess with her as she couldn't see where the person had gone or what they were doing, not only that her body felt very cold, feeling the shivers start coming up. Taking a few steps back she waved in front of her quickly trying to slap the fire flies from her vision as well as blinking a few times. At this point she had lost where Then all of a sudden she watched as she saw something come up in front of her as she tried to pin point where he was going to attack. Trying to move her hands up she wanted to attempt to block the attack, moving her right fist with the knuckles pointed toward the blade attacking her, she felt the sword come in contact with her knuckles as she pushed it away slightly so the cut wasn't as deep as it would of been. The cut still landed on her but it wasn't as deep as it should of been, the force of the cut made her turn towards her opponent. As she was holding her left side as if he had more damage to her then usual, but really she was hiding that fact wanting him to think she was hurt. This battle got a bit more interesting now, her opponent had some special talents with them, she wondered what else this person was capable of doing. Moving both of her hands up again revealing a small cut on her left side; she still felt a cold chill around her body. Not wanting to attack when her limbs were cold and slow she decided to go on the defensive she carefully watched her opponent but also took this chance to take a breath as she wanted to warm up to lose the cold.

Firefly felt metal digging into skin but it hadn't been as deep as they'd want it to be. The woman still managed to stop part of the blade from sinking deeper but the damage had already been done. Watching as she held her side, Firefly pressed their foot to the ground and hopped away a few paces to recover their previously discarded sword post-haste. Now with two blades in hand the figure gave the first one a quick twirl to fling the blood from its surface.

Bouncing on the balls of their feet, Firefly took off again towards their opponent. A straight dash as they bent their body down again as if trying to lower their presence in order to sneak into the Marine's blind spot. They'd sway to the woman's left, starting to raise one blade as if aiming to drive the blade through the wounded side. However, this had been a feint to goad the woman into throwing up her guard. Instead, the assassin suddenly shifted their weight a momentum to the right to complete the juke, swinging for her target's right with a swiping slash across her side to her belly.

Xandria watched as he went to go pick up his other sword as she allowed it so that she could get the time to cool down and warm back up, feeling her limbs starting to warm back up she breathed in a little bit and bounced up and down as she had a smile on her face now. Xandria knew that this guy made some very unpredictable movements and she had to be careful of that now; he was an opponent she had never fought before but she knew she could beat him too. As she watched him attack her again in a low stance like before and as expected he seemed to be aiming for her left side, but instead of blocking it she dashed backwards then performed a back hand spring to gain some ground away from him. Once she did that and saw that he had instead feinted and attacked from the right she was kind of glad to now that she had dodged than blocked. After landing her back hand spring she rushed in using her left hand to grab for his wrist that was holding his sword again, pulling the wrist in a bit she then turned to the opposite direction and used her elbow to ram the pulled target in the face.

A game of chance and the assailant had been unsuccessful in their efforts. The woman hopped back, avoiding the attack before rushing back in. Firefly matched her movements, swaying back just as many feet to keep a small gap of space in between them. They were on to the woman's game, she enjoyed getting close so she could disarm them. However, when the Marine reached out for Firefly's wrist, instead of back swaying in sync with the blonde's forward motion, they instead swung around to her left side, avoiding the blow. However, their movements didn't stop there as another brush of fireflies eroded from their person and swarmed about the Marine to hinder her vision.

An eerie, almost serpent-like movement allowed Firefly to snake entirely around Xandria; as if floating on air during that single instant. From her left side to her rear, to her right side in a single fluid, crescent-like motion. One blade swung down vertically to reap across the woman's back mid-movement once reaching the rear, then another horizontal sweep aimed for the right side upon reaching her right flank. And once again, after their acrobatic assault was complete the frigid fireflies dispersed.

Again she was matched with the blue fireflies again as she felt a cold chill go down her spine as she wasn't going to be hindered this time, she was some what prepared this time as she would frown a bit focusing a bit more on her target. Looking past the fireflies floating around, even with her blurred vision she stopped looking at the Fireflies and looked at the odd movements going to her back. Before she could turn around to block she felt the cold slowing her movements as she felt a cut go across her back as she gritted her teeth, the slash on her back made her body start pumping adrenaline as the blood helped her warm up a little. Now she had fully turned around towards the man as she saw another cut coming towards her right section, she allowed it to connect but she then grabbed the sword with her right hand so he couldn't pull it back just yet. She then pulled the sword inwards cutting her right hand a bit but as she pulled herself in she drove her left fist to her opponent's temple, not stopping her attack she let go of the sword as she then turned around and performed a jump back kick aimed at his chest attempting to kick him away. At the same time she jumped backwards as she had cuts all around her body but she still had a determined look on her face not wanting to give up and run away, she stood her ground with her hands up ready to fight again. Xandria this time didn't want to stay back and take a breathe after jumping back she ran right back in wanting to close her distance with him.

Rapid succession strikes blew through their opponent, however, the gutsy woman once again managed to snag one of their blades.

With a driving fist aimed towards Firefly's temple, they'd bend themselves back just enough to duck and dodge the blow but soon after felt a foot being planted into their chest as the Marine once again kicked off of them. They staggered back several feet as a good twelve feet or so of space was placed in between them. Regaining their composure as the woman came forth once more. Agile fingers moved as they positioned themselves, twirling their blades unpredictably while planting their feet into the ground as if preparing for a hard kick off. The whirling steel singing against the breeze as Firefly bent themselves at the knees, analyzing their target and waiting for the right opening to strike.

Xandria was running towards him until she stopped to see that he was spinning his blades in front of him in some odd motions, she watched his blade focusing on each one but as well as him as well. At this point she was about 6 feet away from him as she had an uneasy feeling with this, since it looked like he was going to do some weird move. Xandria decided to keep her distance and wait for him to make a move first, Xandria then activated her Kenbunshoku haki making a 10 feet radius around her, her opponent would be in her radius as well so if he did anything odd she would detect it.
