                                                        Morgana Laporte

XXX As the man grabbed and began to fiddle with the device she had been pushing around, Morgana sat and watched with curiosity. However, as soon as it began making noises and yelling at them in the human tongue despite there being no other humans around, she'd bolt to go hide behind him, peering over from around his back. While she didn't get the context behind it, it was clearly something important to him judging by the tear sliding down his face. Glancing to the photos on the wall, she drew the connection between the individuals pictured there, and the strange tiny humans coming from the device. "Why are you sad, boy? Clearly your friends are right there." Unless... This shell was some kind of trap?! But they seemed so happy in there! "Perhaps your dismay is not unfounded.." The words he spoke only seemed to further her conclusion of what this thing was without the proper context. "Purriii?" The feline tilted her head slightly as he collected himself and smiled at her, apologizing and providing an explanation she really didn't understand.

Now that she knew the malice the radiated from him wasn't going to be directed at her, Morgana was more than happy to let him scratch her behind the ears, purring as he did so. Although she would never admit to it, there was a part of her that enjoyed human touch and interaction, and she curled up beside his leg contently as he offered to let her stay. It was far better than staying outside in the cold, and he'd been kind enough to feed her. Besides, there was something about how horribly sad he felt that made her feel almost obligated to stay. Not that she cared! He was just another of many humans she'd get shelter and a meal out of and eventually leave. For now though..

"I am called Morgana. How will you fix this, boy?"

[ This little black cat had made such an impact on him in such a small amount of time. Had she not been the curious thing she is, he may have never noticed the dial set behind his equipment. After all, why else would he check it? After scratching behind her ears, he sits down back onto his bottom and offers her a more relaxed smile. The little bit of light flickering in his eyes shimmers firmly, having reignited a drive in him he had previously lost. All it took was him seeing her smile. Seeing her happy. With a bit of pep in his step, he holds up the dial confidently, completely clear on what he has to do. “I am called Morgana. How will you fix this, boy?” the cat asks. Galand nods, eyes still focused on the dial. “Well, since it’s you asking… First, I’ll have to take down the Government. I...want to cut down on the killing, since all of my immediate targets are gone now. There’s just a few more targets I need to-” ...Eh? His head hard turns to the catch, his eyes stretch out his head, and his tongue wiggles like a serpent as if trying to escape his jaw. “EHHHHHHH?! Did you just talk?!” he asks in surprise, fumbling back a bit, nearly dropping the dial. He only manages to catch it with his knee, but it lands on the button, causing a another scene to rise up.

“Hey, say cheese! Just like that! Give me a big smile!”

“C’mon, Lee! My jaw hurts already! How many more do you need?!”

“Oh shush! It’s almost her birthday! Don’t you want to give her something nice?!”

                                “Well, yeah, but…”

“Then leave it to big sis! With just a touch here, and a snip there ~”

                                “Whoa! H-How’d you do that?!”

“Hm hm! You underestimate me, Galand! Now, it’s your turn!”

“I made it but, are you sure she’d like something like this?”

“...! That- You did this in only a day?!”

“I stayed up all night, since I wanted her to enjoy it, but now that I look at it…”

“Make sure you give that to her, no matter what, Galand Drace!”

“Whoa! Okay! I planned to, I promise!”

                                “Oh Galand!”

“Huh?! Leo- You’re squishing me! I’ll be crushed!”

“Whoops! Sorry, sorry. I just… Oh ~ You two are just so cute!”

“Heeey! Leonaaaa! You around?! ...Oh? Leona! And… Galand? What are you two up to?”

“Oh, Raea! I was just talking about you! Come out with me for a while, would you? ~”

“Haha. Nice catch, sis. But, still. Would Raea really like something like this? Well, whatever. If it’ll make her smile, I’d do it a hundred times over.”

The video feed fizzes out, and Galand lets out a sigh, leading into a smile. He lifts the shell and sets it down between he and the cat. It’s as if the darkness from before had slightly fizzed out. Even if temporarily, his mind isn’t clouded by the painful things anymore, but rather, the good times. A balance he needed. ]

                                                        Morgana Laporte

XXX Morgana's ears perked up as this man mentioned taking down the government, giving a few swishes of her tail in agreement. "Indeed! Did that belligerent Marine boy hit you, too?!" Her fur fluffed up in annoyance at the memory, thinking about the young redhead who had escorted her so rudely to jail when she had been nothing but compliant! But phew. She was getting to worked up. Settling her head back on the floor, she'd listen to the rest of his steps, but before she could get to the end it clicked that she was speaking to him in a language he could understand. "Purrririri~. Correct, I can also speak the human tongue." Before she could ask him to elaborate, another scene from the device began to play, and she watched on in silence.

Unlike before, this time the man did not cry any further or begin yelling about what he had to do. Instead, he seemed far more content than when she had first stumbled upon him. This recurring woman.. Though Morgana had not been able to place who it was directed at earlier, she could now. "You are attracted to that blonde woman, no?" Seeing him smile only brought her more confusion. "You seem happy now. Have you figured out a way to remove your friends from this contraption?" Truthfully, she still thought the memories were real people who were stuck in the Dial since she'd never seen anything like it before. How did this all relate to the Government, though? Unless.. "Did the Marines confine them to this crustacean prison?!" She'd murdered people and they'd just put her in a regular cell. What the hell did these people do to end up in there?!

[ The fact that he’s sitting here talking to a cat does unsettle Galand quite a bit. Never before had he had the pleasure of conversing with such a cute animal--or rather, he’s never conversed with an animal in general. But, at least the scene from the Dial brings him a sense of calm, recovering his nerves quite a great deal. “Sorry. First time I’ve ever seen a cat talk. Normally you guys just meow.” He stands himself up while being questioned, finding amusement in the idea that this little creature believes his friends are trapped inside the dial. But the most important thing on his mind is the cat’s question on his feelings towards Astraea. Bare feet, covered in scars up the leg, carry him back over to his sake set. With a crouch he reaches down and grabs hold of the open jar, half full of the clear liquid. He washes it swish around before standing back up. “Yeah. I love her, with all my heart. Everything I’m doing from now on will be to fix everything. To win her back.” After a thought, recalling a time the same woman scolded him about over drinking when having a good time, he gives a light smile.

Deciding that this should be enough for now. He’d better leave the alcohol up to Goldi after all. A light chuckle escapes his lips, enough for him to close his bag carrying eyes shut for a time. After setting everything back in place, he turns to face the black kitten, pointing down to the shell on the floor as he does so. “By the way, what you saw there was just a memory. No one in trapped inside. It’s...kind of like...taking a piece of time, and putting it inside that so we can see it again and again anytime you want.” As he explains, he crosses his arms, tilting his head to the side in deep confusion. Even though he explained it, it doesn’t really make much sense to him either. In moments like this, Roma would be the one to cut in and handle the talking. ]

                                                        Morgana Laporte

XXX "It is the expected reaction." Honestly, it entertained Morgana to see how shocked humans got when they found out she could hold a conversation with them. This man was far better than the random restaurant goer who had called her a demon, plus he had given her food and let her take shelter here, so she was quite comfortable now. Trotting over to the fireplace once more, she'd stretch happily before it, purring at the gentle warmth heating her fur. Listening to his explanations, she first tilted her head in curiosity, wondering how destroying the World Government equated to winning over a woman's love, but... humans were strange. When he explained the device she had happened upon though, her fur fluffed up in embarrassment. It was not a trap?! But of course! She'd known that! It was just a joke! Morgana anxiously licked at her chest a couple of times before setting back down, glancing away from the man to stare into the fire. Had she been in her other form, her embarrassment would have been apparent by the blush on her face. "I see.." It began to click for her a little with this new context. "You are the one called Galand?"

Even with his explanation she was confused, but she didn't have the background or knowledge to refute him, so she just had to take his word for it. "I did not know memories could be recorded." Since... They existed in the minds of.. Whatever, thinking about it was too much work. "You seem calmer now, but I must say you had quite the murderous aura for someone trying to resolve a lover's quarrel."

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxTheme: A romantic ocean! How I do love the sunset.

There was a quiet about her now. Ever since they'd left Row One she'd kept to herself, not saying much of a word. Even voicing to Goldi that she wasn't in the mood for anything physical and to allow one of the wenches to service her for the time before. Galand's words had done more to her than she'd thought and her underlying question was why? All that emotion he'd shown for that woman. Those feelings and passion. He'd never seen them from him before. Yes, she cherished Goldi. That was irrefutable. But she was a selfish being. Time after time she'd gone out of her way to care for the man and yet, it didn't feel right anymore. That same image replaying itself in her head time and time again.

She'd never have a place in his heart like that woman did.

Finally, it seemed they'd made a new landing back in the Blues. Where it all started. As the rest of the crew set out to get things done, Gyui sat alone staring into the mirror. She hadn't even taken any drugs as of late and that was saying something. What she saw, was this woman who'd painted herself to be what the people around her wanted. But was that who she really was? Even the pink hair. . That was something to appease Goldi, but did that even do anything for her? What was she to them? Was she even important? "Do I even matter? A-Am I even meant to be with these two?" Not anymore. Nothing felt right. Nothing seemed real anymore. By staying by their sides GoGo assumed she could find some purpose in herself, but that's not what happened. All she'd become is someone standing in their shadows. Always looking to their backs. Never herself moving forward. And now, after being in the dark for so long, even when looking at herself she didn't see any light anymore. It was just. . cold, lifeless eyes of a doll wearing a smile.

Pretty was her dance. Still, but don't fret; wires can push you forward, little puppet. Always smile. Always.

                                                            But she couldn't anymore. ". . . I have to go. . "

It was her resolution. Everything around her was becoming stiffing. Tiresome. She couldn't just watch and sit any longer. That wasn't how she wanted to be; especially not for Goldi. "Just another thing for her to cast aside. Just something to eventually get rid of. Goldi-sama. . I can't. I won't!" I refuse. She refused! If anything, this was a test that'd push her where she needed to be and where she needed to go. After a big of packing, she held nothing on her but a bag which slung off her shoulder. A tear would fall, but only one as she wiped it away. The only one she could tell about her leave was Ashlyn. Galand and Goldi need not know. Their shame would be too much to bare.

Silently she'd step til she reached the woman's room, confronting her. Grasping her shoulders, GoGo placed her forehead against the woman as tears began to stream. "Don't tell Galand or Goldi-sama where I've gone. Just know that I'll be back and when I'm ready, I'll find you all." In the woman's pocket a little slip of paper was placed before a kiss to her cheek "Please. . Keep them safe in my leave, Ashlyn-chan. Please. . ." Without much left to be said, she'd hurry on towards an exit with quiet feet. Eventually though she'd come to a stop when witnessing that Galand was alone. . well, he was with a cat and watching a. . video?

“It’s lonely, Astraea. I… said those cruel things to you, but, what am I supposed to do? Is it so wrong to want you back?”

Tch. . Slowly she'd shift, hardening herself. If she had any thoughts of staying, they were gone now. For the future, for them, for herself, she had to rid herself of these emotions.

"I'm sorry Galand. . Sorry I couldn't protect you from your past. ."

                                                            Away.

Ashlyn "The Empress Of The Fallen" Winters | LocationMinion Island, Deserted House | CompanyGoGo -> Her Lonesome, Maybe

User Image

The trip back to the blues had been rather uneventful and quiet for the most part. Everyone seemed to spend most of their time locked in their rooms. Ashlyn was spent her time at the helm steering the ship and feeling very much alone. It felt like her new family was falling apart, and she was helpless to stop it. Most of all, she felt the familiar loneliness creeping into her black heart. If she even had one anymore. Loneliness was something she was used to.

Her ghostly sentries peeked in on her companions for her every now and then, but she made no movement to disturb them. She no longer had the confidence she once did to disturb them. Nor the madness that she once held. Well, not the all encompassing madness she once held. The woman would be hard pressed to try and say she wasn’t still a little mad.

It seemed a familiar land was their destination. Ashlyn remembered being here what felt like ages ago, fighting a giant rat with her muscular bodyguard. She had been much more carefree and confident in those days. As they pulled into port, Goldi speaking drew the woman out of her thoughts and she nodded and watched the taller woman stalk off. Going down to her own room, Ashlyn wasn’t entirely sure what to do.

Footsteps nearing her room alerted Ashlyn to someone approaching and she turned around in time to have GoGo grasp her shoulders and rest her head on Ashlyn. Reaching around with her right hand, Ashlyn rubbed and patted GoGo’s back in what she hoped was a comforting manner. Her words tore at the woman’s heartstrings even more. “Where you’ve go-” she started, but couldn’t quite manage to finish. GoGo spoke some final words and moved to leave, on instinct Ashlyn grabbed her hand in a futile attempt to get her to stay.

“You always have a place here as my friend and family…” Choking out her words, Ashlyn wasn’t sure when she’d started crying herself. “Just… Call for me and I’ll come…”, was what she managed out as the other woman disappeared. Trying to stop the tears, Ashlyn felt her heart shatter as her family seemed to be breaking up. Her feet started moving and Ashlyn found herself leaving the ship at a run and heading for the town. Finding an empty building, Ashlyn holed herself inside in front of the fireplace and let the tears flood out.

                                            “Don’t cry Suki.”

Came an eerily familiar voice. It made all the hairs on her neck stand on end and scream for her to run. Looking up through tear soaked eyes, her eyes met the figure of her “elder brother”. “Adonis?” She breathed out in fear, eyes wide in terror. “That’s right Suki Suki, did you really think Father couldn’t keep track of you? Did you think I would let my little sister run so far away? So far from home, without punishment?” His chiseled features gave way to a sinister grin. Her feet moved to back away, but it was too late, he’d caught her off guard and already his fingers were around her throat.

“Now now Suki, we haven’t even begun playing yet.” Picking her up a solid punch collided into her stomach and stole all her air. Gasping for air, he proceeded to slap her twice with bone crushing force. Throwing her to the floor, he allowed her time to gather herself up once more. “You don’t call, you don’t write, Angelina is beside herself with worry.” Advancing on her, Ashlyn responded with several kicks to the man that seemed to phase him very little. “My, you have grown weaker… You used to be so strong Suki… You used to be my match at the very least, but this form you’ve chosen is so fragile…” Spartan kicking her into the wall he looked down on her with no pity.

“Pathetic.” Reaching down and grabbing the woman by her hair, he brought her up to eye level. “Don’t worry Suki, I’ll kill you now and bring you back to Father for a more appropriate form.” Looking up at him with blurry vision, she glared at the man as a large hollow formed by her right hand. “He’s not my Father!” With that she surprised the man by literally forcing the hollow into his mouth, his eyes widened before a deafening explosion sounded off, destroying the house. The last thing Ashlyn remembered was falling to the floor as the house collapsed and she was met with blackness.

How could I love this, my life so dishonest.
It made me compromise."

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxTheme: Amazing

So was she doing this all herself?

Figuring the others had split off to go handle the other parts of the island the ambitious amazon continued to storm the island for its goods. Naturally, she'd started at the tavern and worked her way from there but had left everything in working order. There was no need in taking the place down if they were taking it over. Instead, Goldi was dealing with the riffraff that didn't belong here.

Battling her way up the spiraling stairwell of a ransacked building, Goldi fought off scruffy bearded men with swords and guns. Kicking men into others and tossing those men over the railing down to their doom where they were swallowed hole by the blackness awaiting them at the bottom only so they could be expelled through a breach into the ocean.

                                                  A hook, a kick, a twist and a swing. A lunge, a flip, a throw and a leap.

The arrogant battle cries were immediately followed with the wails of the defeated. The woman need not use her darkness much to take out a small gaggle of bandits such as these. One hand struck down all who opposed her while the either twirled around a large metallic rod with a furled cloth around it. She battle along the corridors and cleared the halls before sauntering up more stairs to repeat the process to finally reach the top.

Upon getting onto the roof of the rundown establishment Goldi was met with the cold chill of Winter. From this height she could see the entirety of the island, having conquered the largest structure on it. The ocean was her vanishing point. Off in the distance she could see a lone figure trailing off by boat, unrecognizable through her visage. The arrogant pirate stretched her lips into a wide grin; feeling accomplished. She unraveled the cloth from the rod, revealing it to be their crew's flag; their Jolly Roger. She let it flutter as she stabbed it deep into the stone of the roof; claiming this land as theirs.

At that moment, and not a second sooner, there came an explosion in the not so far off distance. While it was pleasant timing for dramatic effect, Goldi quickly shot her gaze towards the general direction to see flying rubble and burning wood as a collapsing house was set ablaze. Her eyes went wide at the sight, confused, Goldi instinctively leapt from the building. Her blackness swarmed her before collecting at her back to sprout a pair of wings that repelled against gravity. She used them to glide over to the burning home, giving a single flap to ease her landing.

The woman rushed inside with a moment of hesitation. She didn't know what happened or who had been in here but she'd given the order not to total the island so she expected her crew to listen. With that in mind she assumed that something had gone awry. Through the fire, smoke, and collapsing wood, the amazon hastily yet carefully made her way through the home where she spotted an unconscious Ashlyn lying on the ground. As she rushed over a heavy beam of mahogany toppled over. The strong woman stepped herself over her friend and intercepted the burning block with her back. Flames scorched her clothes and licked her back as she remained ever vigilant, scooping the woman up in her arms as she tossed the beam from over her.
"Now ain't the time tah be dead, b***h! We gotta get outta here!" She yelled in a futile attempt to wake the woman up. She carried Ashlyn out of the house moments before it collapsed, having spotted a body on the way out.

Once they made it to safety she'd look down to the beat up woman with a worried scoff.
"Damn it woman, whut in tha ******** didja get yerself into?" She mumbled. Sighing calmly, Goldi carried the woman off.

                                                  Back on the Ship

After some patchwork, Goldi managed to stabilize Ashlyn's condition. After having fixed herself up time and time again the woman had a penchant for first aid and basic medicine. For awhile she rested near her friend's bedside. Her hands folded just below her mouth. The ship felt quiet, empty over the usual hustle and bustle of deckhands and tavern wenches and partying. She had a moment to take it all in, the silence, but as it coalesced around her like a midnight shroud, her uneasiness finally overtook her; she could no longer take the racing thoughts in her mind.

She stood and headed out of the room. Her friend would be fine. Her condition wasn't severe, but there was no one left on the ship besides them. She strode through the corridors of the ship like molasses, hands buried in her pockets, her body slouched. She froze at the entrance to the room she shared with GoGo. And between one moment and the next she found herself staring at half empty drawers, a bag missing from under their bed as well. Her face left a white canvas, blank as she simply stared. GoGo was gone.

                                                  Had she caused this?

Goldilocks could feel an unbridled rage swelling within her, confusion and sorrow until it reached a boiling point. With a guttural roar that couldn't escape the room she found herself pushing over the drawer in a fit of rage. Goldi slumped down, squatting silently now that her tantrum was over. Her head held low as she sniveled, tears masked behind her long locks that hid her face. She tried to bite back her emotions but the attempt was a futile one. A shaky hand retrieved a cigar and a lighter from her pockets. Ashen smoke curled from the corners of her mouth once she finally ignited the flint stone long enough to make the blaze.

"And just what in the ******** do you think you're doing?" A voice cut through the silence. Goldi suddenly looked up and around but saw no one yet the voice was painfully familiar. She panned over to the mirror and saw a heavily scarred woman with golden tresses in the reflection staring back at her. She sighed, clearing her nose again before lowering her head and going back to smoking. "Holy s**t are you crying? Hah! You are! Just like a ******** baby! How pathetic...get up." She reflection mocked, scoffing under her breath.

"Why? I failed 'em. Galand, GoGo, Ashlyn. I've let'em all down as Captain." For a moment there was silence outside of the occasional drag of heated rolling paper burning away to ash. And then, laughter. A particularly obnoxious laugh unlike her own that came from the woman in the mirror. "Captain? You?! Oh sweetie, let me tell you something about yourself. You? You were never a captain to these people and you know you weren't. That isn't how these things work and that was never how it worked with these people. Now stop feeling sorry for yourself and get up." Goldi stayed hunched over, silent as she shook her head, the woman in the mirror scowled angrily, staring down to her with a condescending glare.

"I SAID GET THE ******** UP AND LOOK AT ME!"

The voice boomed, a deafening ringing in her head forced Goldi to a stand, holding her head as she bit down on the end of her cigar. She gave a frustrated look towards the woman in the mirror, who'd only smirk back once seeing the tears running down the Kuja's cheeks. Goldi's chest heaved, her ears still ringing as she stared at her own reflection yet the pair looked nothing alike.

"I know you've been on the run for years now but come on, pink hair? Really?"
                                                  "What. Do. You. Want?"
"I'm just here to make sure that you haven't forgotten about your mission. No matter how far you run. No matter how many times you change your name or your appearance or that stupid little accent of yours, I will always be here to remind you of your mission."
                                                  "I haven't forgotten."
"Oh yeah? Then what is it? Because it looks like you've forgotten with this little soap opera you've been putting on."
                                                  "..."
"So I'll ask you again. What. Is. Your. Mission?"
                                                  "...To find the poneglyphs."
                                                  "For what?"
"For the sake of exposing them."
                                                  "Exposing who?"
"All of them. The Marines. The Government. The Gorosei. The Tenryuubito. Every last one of those bastards!"
"Good girl. No one is dead so this isn't a time to be moping around feeling sorry for yourself because your little girlfriend decided to take a little vacation from you. Or that your friend went and blew herself up. Or that the big one is out there having marital issues. Do NOT let that distract you from what you need to get done. They will come back to you. They always do. They can take care of themselves. Besides, this isn't the first time you've been alone, nothing has changed."

The voice was stern if not condescending when lecturing her, but she was right. Goldi's teeth clenched as she swallowed the sorrowful lump in her throat, her forearm came to wipe the wetness from her face as one last sniffle followed.

"Good. Don't forget while you're still here. Do you remember your promise?"
                                                  "My promise?"
"Yes, your promise. 'I will make'..."
                                                  "...A good villain."
"And don't forget who helped make you, dearest Rapunzel. You're only here because she made them forget that you even existed because you asked her to. So that you can make a name for yourself. So that you could get revenge. You're an anomaly. An anachronism. Technically speaking you should've died what? Eight? Nine times now?"
"Twelve. Twelve times. With my powers."
"Twelve ******** times. More lives than a goddamn cat this one. Now here's what you're going to do. You're going to suck it up. You're going to grab your old boat, and you're going to go through with the next step of your plan. You have a pretty little bounty on your head and you've managed to grab the attention of at least a few bigwigs of the government. You've caused enough chaos and disarray. Now, just pick them off one by one. You know how and you know where. What do we intend to do?"
                                                  "Destroy all obstacles."
"And don't you ever forget that...now cut this dramatic bullshit and get to it! And don't ******** this up for us, got it?!"

Goldi held her head down in thought but when she lifted it the woman had been replaced with the reflection of her current self. Her eyes were reddened by tears but her sadness had been replaced with a gleam of conviction. Once again she'd locked away any emotion that couldn't fuel her to become stronger, that couldn't help her achieve the goal that she'd almost forgotten about.

Step on was complete and now it was onward to step two.

Grabbing hold of a bag, Goldilocks scoured her shelves and underneath her bed for a number of books. Historical texts and myths that she believed to be connected. She blew the dust from them as they'd gone unused for quite some time now. She got redressed into a different garb, sealed up her shoulder bag, threw it over her shoulder and headed out. On her way out she made her way back into Ashlyn's room who'd still be unconscious. The tall woman sat at the side of it, leaned her head down, and calmly kissed the woman on the forehead.

"I'm sorry I dragged you into all of this. All of you. If you can hear me. I want you to know that I'm not leaving you all. There's a few things that I need to handle first. If you see GoGo and Galand again before I do, tell them that I want you all to meet me in Skypiea. I'll explain everything then, all I can tell you right now is that I'm going to change this rotten ******** world. Maybe then I'll be worthy of you all calling me Captain."

Her voice was deeper, still rich with life but without the accent. The scarred amazon smiled softly for the first time in what felt like ages. She stifled a chuckle to herself as she turned to head out, but before she did she'd remove her hat, setting it at Ashlyn's bedside. She held fast onto the strap of her bag and took her leave out the door; grabbing a single lone man boat from shore and sailing off into the sea.

User ImageUser ImageHaving finally left with her meager vessel and decided to simply go north. She figured that picking a single direction and going until she had found someplace else was the easiest thing to do and the compass was always pointing directly north which made things simpler. It would be another day's travel at least as she ate some of the food she'd been gifted. She would curl up on her ship to sleep for the night as she lacked a proper room or anything else unfortunately. At first she had tried to lay down upon her left side, but she instantly rolled over to the side, inhaling sharply as she laid on her right side instead. With her head resting on her right wing, tears streamed down the side of her face and she softly sobbed herself to sleep that night.

She was still quite sore and weak overall so she ended up sleeping in quite a bit and it wasn't until her ship collided with solid land and jerked her that she woke up. She sat up suddenly in a slight panic at first before she looked around, blinking as she saw light 'flakes' falling from the sky itself around her. She reached out, catching some in her hand as she marveled at what she could only assume was that thing called 'snow' that her father had one told her about. It was cold, but melted quickly in her hand as she started to see her own breath. "Ah..." It was cold but since there was no wind and it was a gentle snowfall, she would be alright for now at least. She'd use some rope to tie the small ship off to a nearby tree, making sure it wouldn't go anywhere as she started to walk inland curiously, arms folding against herself in both a reaction to the cold and a slight nervous behavior.

She of course had not the faintest idea of where exactly she was, but most islands had towns on them so logically if she keeps walking, she'd find one right? Maybe a place with warm food and a real bed for the night. Then again she was also completely broke. Maybe she'd be able to wash dishes or something to make up for it? She certainly hoped so. As she started walking though the crunch of snow under her feet almost made her jump and squeak as she looked down. "It...crunches...?" She was definitely not used to much else besides clouds or dirt being under her boots before and she would look down curiously as she started walking, listening to the soft and foreign sound of her stepping on snow. She'd look a bit childish as she started wandering, scooping up some snow and even curiously taking a bit of it before making a cute squeak at how cold it was. It was like shaved ice without the flavor which made her wonder how it would be if she had something to drizzle on it like syrup or the the like. As she walked along still finding no signs of a town yet, she noticed that it seemed so quiet that it was almost surreal, yet calming at the same time. She kind of liked it as she took in a deep, chilling breath before sighing out softly.

That was when she heard a loud explosion echoing across the area, making her jump in place. "W-What was that...?" She looked about, the echo of the sound made it sound all around her but she managed to pick where she had first heard it from and started going that way, wondering what had happened. If something exploded there might be people. Granted they might be in danger. If she helped them, they'd owe her a debt and she'd maybe be able to get some food and a bed out of it. She started to move faster and before she knew it she was running through the snow when she came upon a lone cottage in the middle of the woods she had been going through. She paused, seeing no signs of the explosion, but she did see a tall man and his...she blinked, looking at the small furry creature. It looked so cute! She wasn't sure what it was but she knew that she wanted to pet it and cuddle with it and she certainly hoped it wasn't deceptively dangerous or anything. "I um...Hello...?" She said, walking towards the man a bit cautiously. "Do you know what that was just now...? Or...where the town is...? I'm...kind of lost..." She looked slightly down as she confessed to the last bit since it applied to her in more than one way currently as she had no clue what she was even going to do after she got that warm meal and bed.

[ It had finally gotten peaceful. Enough so that he loosens his guard and lays back with his hands behind his head. A rather relaxed expression across his face. His golden hues focus on the black cat as she trots her little paws over towards the fireplace again. The sight is adorable enough to make him smirk, but he can’t blame her for liking the spot either. It is pretty cold out in all fairness. Quizzically, he tilts his head to the side as she asks him about his name. Had he not introduced himself from before? “Yeah, that’d be me. But well, I guess I look a lot different since back then, huh. My poor face is just covered in scars now-a-days.” he teases a bit playfully, grinning a bit, showing off his pronounced canines. Yet despite his good mood, the smile does start to fade off when the cat continues her analysis of the man. For such a long time he had been brooding over things.

From Astraea, Evelyn, GoGo, Goldi, Ashlyn, The Doves, and the Government… There was so many things on his mind. He didn’t realize how effective the kitten’s presence was in drawing him to the better parts of it. His eyelids shut while his eyebrows raise as if he’s trying to arrogantly pass off the statement as another after thought. “It’s not like I want to be that way you know. Besides, she’s the one that won’t listen to-” Boom. The man’s eyes fly open wide, and he turns over quickly, pushing himself up to rush over the door. With one mighty swing it flies over, letting in a small gust of cold air and snow to blow past him. His iris thin, appearing more slit than ever now, as he stares intently in the direction of the town. What the heck was that? He wonder this, going over in his head what was agreed upon. Goldi and the others know they can’t destroy this place. Not these people. They wouldn’t either, considering them. So then why?! Another Pirate attack?! ...Marines?!

He frowns, tightening his fists before loosening them and exhaling. “...Calm down. Be rational...just like before.” he says under his breath before turning a bit to the side, looking over his shoulder to the cat with a hand held out. “Come! It may not be safe here!” he demands, pleading for her to stay by his side. He doesn’t know what’s going on, but that just means he needs to get everyone together. Assuming she follows his request, he’d dash outside through the trees, trying to get a clear view of the town from above. Nearing the clearing, a colorful sight not of this forest--no, of this island as a whole, shifts in his peripheral. He comes to a halt, readying himself in the chance that this is an enemy. But what he finds is a timid girl with a single wing moving towards him. He glares at her for a time until he remembers his own words. Play smart, Galand-boy. With himself in the right state of mind, he merely nods to her greeting. At least giving her indication that he acknowledges her, but doesn’t fully trust her yet.

“I’m on my way to figure that out now. If it’s the town you’re heading towards...you’re going the wrong way.” he says, motioning his head in the direction of the town.

He doesn’t need her finding his shack. Not until he knows who she is, so for now… “Not sure if you’re fast or not, but follow me. If you can’t keep up, follow my footsteps. I can’t afford to stall much longer.” he says before turning away and rushing off to the town. Though he said what he did, he’d make sure to look over his shoulder every now and then and match his pace with the woman only slightly. Assuming she isn’t even faster than he is. After breaking through the clearing, he’d see the town in a relatively okay state. Though people look to be in a frenzy, attempting to fix a building that went up in a burst of flames. He leaps down the hill, using trees as stepping stones to get lower until he can finally land onto the snow below in a crouch. His body glides the rest of the small distance until he comes into a sliding halt, calling out for the Mayor. “Old man! What happened?!” The elderly man with sweat and worry covering his face looks to Galand nervously.

After a bit of explaining, Galand comes to the understanding that one of his crewmates, most likely Ashlyn, has been injured and carted off somewhere. Galand, not liking the response, questions further as to who caused the incident. If, it was a member of the village. But, no. Nothing. No one would have dared, knowing they were his allies. Galand swings his arm down by his side causing the village to rumble just a tad while sucking his teeth. “So someone really is after us, gods damn it all!” he roars. “Look, you guys try not to leave the village for a bit. Keep track of your loved ones, and come find me if you see ANYTHING suspicious, got it?!” he commands before patting the old man’s shoulder comfortingly. Though frustrated, this man and the others did take care of him during his own recover. But for now, he needs to find the others. Especially Ashlyn! He turns to the direction of the ship and dashes off again. “Don’t cause any trouble!” he calls over his shoulder to the one winged angel woman, selfishly assuming she wouldn’t follow him further.

After making it to the ship, he leaps up, ignoring the gang plank, and rushes to the resting quarters. He slams open each door, calling for the names of everyone, until finally he gets to Ashlyn’s room, and there she lies… Goldi’s hat sitting by her side. The hell? He steps in slowly, expression both worried, frustrated, and saddened at the state of his ally. After finally making it to the bed side, he drops down onto a knee. “...Ashlyn, what’s going on. What in the blue sea’s name happened…?” he asks, genuinely concerned about her well being, and what took place to bring her of all people this level of harm. She’s easily capable of self defense, and isn’t afraid to use it. So what the hell could have... ]

XXX ".. I do hope those scars are not from another one of your quarrels with this woman, Galand-boy." Morgana had no idea how he'd gotten so banged up, but considering his response to not being with this blonde woman was murder, well... she couldn't help but assume things. "If that is not the way you want to be, then stop it. When I do not wish to do something I nap. Perhaps you should try napping." Napping was always the solution. Speaking of which, wasn't it about time for ano- OH COME ON. Fluffing her fur up in surprise and annoyance, the feline hopped up on all fours as she heard the sound of an explosion on the distance. She'd watch Galand run to the door and look around, mumbling to himself before calling to her and beckoning her to join him. Casting a forlorn glance toward the fireplace, Morgana sighed and reluctantly bounded toward the man, hopping up onto his shoulder, curling around his neck so that she at least wouldn't have to run everywhere. Truthfully she wanted to stay, but if the Marines were here for whatever reason, she was strongly against getting hit again.

After a bit the pair came upon a woman with one wing who seems lost and just as confused about the noise they'd heard as well. The cat said nothing, merely watching the newcomer with her slitted eyes for the moment before Galand took off running again. Once more they ran into people, something Morgana wasn't particularly pleased with, but it seemed as though her new companion knew them so for now she would be compliant. After all, things were quite simple with him carrying her around; she should have used this method for transportation ages ago! Her own contentment aside, it wasn't difficult to see that Galand was getting riled up again, surprised when they suddenly boarded what she assumed to be a pirate's ship. Once the man had found whoever it was he was looking for - some unconscious woman - Morgana hopped down from his shoulder, hopping up on the bed instead. Ashlyn. Looking up, she took in the name and then promptly climbed up on top of the woman, kneading her paws into her stomach as if she were making bread. She was careful enough not to aggravate any of the woman's current wounds, but she knew that humans hated this feeling when she did it to them. "Time to wake up, Ashlyn-dear. I believe you are stressing Galand-boy out, and I do not want to see what happens when he has a meltdown. Up. Up. Up." She would continue bothering the poor woman until she complied and came to.

The raven haired woman dreamed of dark things. Blood soaked streets, dismembered bodies, and screams of terror to name a few. She could feel the blood running through her fingers, the feeling of ecstasy that accompanied the murders she’d committed. Asuka had done her best to stain the world with crimson. It was her favorite color after all. Her one true passion in the world had been murder. She’s been created for it’s sole purpose. One of many children to a twisted doctor.

And she had been quite accomplished in it. Murder had came easy, destruction an afterthought. Whole towns in some occasions. Little else seemed to interest the little psychopath. And then she’d been remade again. Trapped in this frail form, trapped in this pathetic excuse for a woman. She’d gone from the angel of death, to this sheep ripe for slaughter. No wonder Adonis had the nerve to buck up and beat her senseless.

Indeed, unconscious ears seemed to register what Goldi was saying to her, and in her weakness she’d breathed out a single phrase. “Please don’t leave me…”, it had been but a whisper, and it was no doubt missed as the amazonian walked away. Please?! How pathetic had she become? She used to demand things, now she was pleading like some sorry excuse for filth.

Again Ashlyn’s mind drifted off into the dark subconscious of her repressed mind. She’d tried so hard to put her past behind her, to not be another’s puppet, but look what it had reduced her too. And that’s all she had really been, his puppet. The good doctor had intentionally made her more frail this time around. Easier to control after the last incident. It was only through Angelique’s kindness that she’d been freed this time. She owned it to her “sister” to live.

Frowning in her sleep, her hand gripped her sheets tighter for a moment before peace found her face once more. Another familiar voice found it’s way to her mind. Asking what had happened to her. No, was he going to leave too? Her heart couldn’t bear it, her already quickly fracturing mind would be lost if he did. “Galand… Don’t go…”, she breathed out in a breathless manner, her hand moving of it’s own accord as if to grasp any part of him that might be within reach and force him to stay.

Still, she slept. Unfortunately for Morgana, as soon as Ashlyn felt discomfort in her stomach, she took that as a sign that it was Galand and reached out and quickly grabbed the cat into a death grip, pulling her into her chest and hugging the cat tightly. Anything to anchor herself to this world as a particular dream started. One that left her more restless than she had been thus far. Sweat formed on her brow and she almost whimpered as a voice whispered to her from the darkness. “Come back to me my Harbinger of Death.” And just like that her eyes shot open as she screamed.

Breathing heavy, she didn’t realize she’d probably burned through one of Morgana’s lives unknowingly. Realizing she was cuddling the cat to death, Ashlyn let go and pushed herself against her headboard, breathing heavy. “What?” She questioned in between breaths. Slowly little things came back to her. Fighting Adonis, the house collapsing, being carried by Goldi, Goldi leaving, and Galand speaking to her unconscious form. Was any of it real? Her eyes fell on her bedside table and at the sight of the hat sitting on it, her heart fell once more.

Goldi was gone. At least for now.

Grabbing the hat, she hugged it to herself before realizing Galand was indeed in the room. “Goldi’s gone… GoGo too…”, she breathed out and sniffled as the tears threatened to overcome her again. She was so pathetic, no wonder they left. “B-But they said they’ll be back…”, she said, almost as if she was trying to convince herself more than the man beside her. Fat chance of that, she would have left first chance she got too in their place. They were probably off together having a good laugh at the fragile woman that was Ashlyn.

“Y-You…”, she trailed off, trying to find her confidence again. It had been shattered anew. “Leaving?” She managed to practically squeak out after a moment of silence. Hugging herself, Ashlyn put on the hat and pulled it over her face to hide the renewed tears. “I don’t blame you.” She managed in between sobs. In her despondence, she totally forgot about the cat. If she’d remembered, she might have said sorry. As it were, she was barely clinging hold of her sanity at the moment, teetering on the edge of madness.

How could I love this, my life so dishonest.
It made me compromise."

User ImageUser ImageHaving been given some information was a start and he didn't seem hostile as he directed her towards the town properly. She nodded to him, as he seemed to be in a hurry so she didn't really get a chance to say anything as he ran ahead with that cute furry whatever it was. She ran after him through the snow, certainly not as quick as he was, but she managed to at least keep him in sight until the town, lagging behind briefly as he was shouting things to the people. Perhaps he was in charge? Maybe he was the person she needed to talk to then...at least once these current events were sorted out. She still had nothing to her name besides that boat, no money, no income, and no place to live. She panted softly as she entered the village a few moments after the strange man, not one for all this running normally. She preferred flying but that wasn't exactly an option anymore.

"W-What's that!?" She heard a voice shouting as she looked around at first, not sure what was happening as the man had run off to some large ship at the nearby coast. It took a moment before she had realized that people were starting to stare at her and point. She had forgotten for a moment that she was an outsider and one that stood out like a sore thumb at that. Her wing curled into her side as she held her own arms, wincing as she started feeling even weirder than back home. "Someone tell Galand there's a fallen angel! I think she's a Devil! She only has one wing!" She flinched. "Stop it..." She said weakly, looking down as there were more people looking at her before she felt a sudden hard impact against her left arm. Someone had thrown a handful of this snow stuff at her and it actually stung a bit. Granted she was already sore to start with. "Demon, get out of here!" Another one hit her, harder. "Stop it..." She repeated, looking down as she wanted to just retreat into herself. She wanted them to go away. To leave her alone entirely now. To disappear. Yet people kept throwing snowballs and yelling and suddenly someone had found a rock under the snow to whip at her and it hit her head, making her fall to her knees from the sudden pain as she held her head, blood running down her temple. "S...Stop..."

Tears were welling up in her eyes as the villagers merely thought they were protecting themselves from another potential attacker as she shook there, feeling something she wasn't used to as another rock hit her arm this time, bruising it. She felt angry. She just wanted them to stop. To leave her alone. But they wouldn't! She had done nothing to them and they were attacking her! Just like- Suddenly a rock struck her left shoulder blade and the pain sent a jolt over her entire body as blood stained her back, her injury opening back up as she screamed out. "STOP IT!!!" She shouted to them all as something happened. She felt crawling under her clothing. Itching and strange movement as she twitched and jerked in place before insects started crawling out from under her clothing as if from nowhere. Her pupils shrank as she inhaled sharply and she had realized the horrid truth: They had just come out of her own body. And from there they'd begin swarming out around her en mass, growing in numbers as the locusts began chasing down the people that had been attacking her, biting them, ripping away at their very flesh with abnormally strong jaws as people quickly started panicking, screaming as they ran away.

She sat there on her knees as more came out of her body and from under her jacket and skirt, shaking at the foreign sensation and realization of what had happened to her as a side effect of being forced to eat that disgusting fruit! It was horrifying as the swarms had finally stopped coming from her body and as they were already about, eating buildings and villager alike, she'd have tears streaking her face as she couldn't help but lurch forwards, puking in disgust at what she had physically become now. She wasn't even processing that several people had already been assaulted by the swarm and completely torn down to the bone as screaming filled the town and people ran away from her, the locusts seemingly staying within a close area to herself as the hum of their beating thousands of wings covered the sound of her pained sobs.

[ Maybe it’s just as Morgana says. Maybe is really is time for the man to cut it out and rest already. He’s done enough, right? He’s a mess, and he definitely needs time to rest himself. Maybe after everything is said and done on this cozy island, he’ll take everyone somewhere to relax for a while. Yeah, that’ll be nice. Is what he thought along the way to the village. Now resting by his fallen teammate’s side, he listens to her groans and watches her struggle. An insurmountable pain creeps through his body as he sees her fighting. Be it a bad dream, or the truth of her heart leaking. In the end, she doesn’t want to be alone anymore, and he was a fool who made her experience such a thing yet again. Just...how many times are you planning to make these mistakes, Drace? His eyes lower, and a sigh leaves his lips. A large hand gently reaches out and strokes the top of Ashlyn’s head to help soothe her. “I’m here, Ash. I’m right here.” He speaks out calmly. Hoping to provide some rest to her heart.

Though despite the calm of the situation, Morgana took it upon herself to start kneading at the unconscious woman’s stomach, in her own attempt at waking her up. Galand can only chuckle a bit at the sight, wonder why cats even do such a thing. But before he knows it, Ashlyn’s arms reach out, and she starts hugging the small cat. Firmly. Maybe, a bit too firmly! Galand works to try and pry open the death grip, but it wouldn’t even budge! Whatever is causing this woman to squeeze this hard must truly be important to her, even in her sleep! Luckily, the woman springs into consciousness, screaming out into the open air. An action that startles even Galand. “Whoa, hey! It’s okay! You’re alright!” An attempt to bring his crewmate back into reality from whatever dream she was experiencing. Yet, despite him freeing Ashlyn from her own bad dream, she swiftly brings him into one.

She grabbed the hat of his partner and presses it against herself, clearly close to tears. All before those terrifying works slip out. “Eh?” he starts, slowly building into shock. What does she mean by gone? To the bath? Down to the wenches? Exploring the island?! Progressively, Galand’s mood worsens. He thinks. If it were any of that, Ashlyn wouldn’t be sitting here broken up about it. She’s a reasonable lady. So for her to be this shaken… Only when she finishes her statement does a gross sense of relief sink in. A last thread of hope to cling to. A heavy breath breaks free from his chest as he looks down to the floorboard, revealing his stupid joy and worry. “...Right. Of course. They’ll be back. That’s...yeah.” He stands himself up, preparing to step out of the room for a bit. Only stopping when Ashlyn’s worried words pierce him deep in the heart.

Idiot! Where are you going?! Don’t...mess up again. Those words she spoke reminds him of the last words he heard from a dear friend of his. Back then, he had no other choice but to go, but now he does in fact have a choice. And this time, he won’t mess up. He turns back to Ashlyn and sits on the side of her bed closest to her, attempting to mimic something Leona did for him back then many times. An arm reaches around the bedridden woman, and softly pulls her closer. “I won’t abandon you. I swear it, Ashlyn. I’ve had enough of losing the people precious to me. So, stay by my side.” So he declares. After a brief moment to let the woman collect herself, he’d stands himself up and lift her up princess style. “That said, I have a bad feeling. So you’re coming with me. Unless you want to stay in the ship for a bit longer?” he’d tease. But if she really does want to… he’d just put her back down. With a serious look, he’d nod to Morgana. She’d likely understand.

That strange woman they found in the forest, while she seemed gentle enough… something about her was off. He needs to go back. And so he would, after letting Morgana hop back onto the Drace-mobile. He dashes off, making sure his impacts and steps were lightfoot enough to keep his injured crewmate from any addition discomforts. It doesn’t take long for them to get back. Get back to a desolate, quite town. Standing at the outskirts of the village, his golden hues glance about. No matter where he looks, there’s no one around. But the further in he goes, here starts to hear this strange almost grating sound. One very unfamiliar to this quiet snow island. Then he sees it. Smack in the middle of the little town square, blood spewed about with the remains of bodies sunk into the snow. Covered in...bugs? But these...are definitely not locals to this island. Rather, when was the last time he even saw in insect here? He frowns. Progressively getting aggravated now.

Then he sees her, hunched over in despair, sitting before her own regurgitation. His large form looms over the girl furiously as his teeth grit from his sad attempts at restraining himself. “What. Happened.” he questions, his voice sounding a lot more grim that when the two first met in the woods earlier. A villager speaks from the window in horror, “Th-That DEVIL! She! She went out of control! Th-The moment you left, she started spawning those BUGS form hell, and they attacked us! They KILLED some of us! Do something about her, please, Lord Galand!” A vein crawls up his forehead as that similar aura from his shack settles back onto its throne just nicely. Because it’s every time. Every single time, the people around him keep getting targeted by these horrible events! It’s always the innocents! But this time, the perpetrator is before him. He can fix this one. He can smash her, and make sure she never does anything like this again. O fallen angel, cursed with a fate no stranger to death, use your words! ]

                                                        Morgana Laporte

XXX What had been a simple attempt to help awaken the woman Morgana stood upon quickly backfired as she was grabbed and pulled into a crushing grip. Yelping as she was strangled, the feline struggled in the woman's grasp, her claws out as she attempted to scratch her new captor until she let go. "F-Free me.. from your clutches.. you horrid woman!" As Ashlyn bolted up and screamed, so too did the cat, kicking off of her and landing on the ground, her fur fluffed up in annoyance. "Why must you humans insist on using such force with me?! I am delicate!" She trotted off to the corner, curling up and glaring at the pair as she sulked and regained her breath. First the Marine boy and now this! Why was life so unfair?! Staying quiet, she listened to Galand and Ashlyn speak to each other, noting that two of what she assumed were previous companions were gone now. Hopefully when they came back they wouldn't squeeze the life out of her, too. It was easy to tell that this woman was sad even before she started crying, and Morgana couldn't help but feel a bit of pity for her. Even she, at times, didn't wish to be alone.

Giving them time to have their moment, Morgana lazily swished her tail from side to side, contemplating what she knew. This purple haired woman had not been present in any of the memories carried in the device, and she did not recognize the names GoGo or Goldi. Curious about it now, she figured she'd just have to ask Galand about it later. About who these people were, and what exactly had happened to the people she'd seen in the pictures. As the man picked up his companion and nodded to her, Morgana stood up once more, hopping up on his shoulder. It didn't take long for the group to return to the area they had stopped in before, where Galand had talked to some man and they had left the one-winged woman. Now though... Well, she smelled the blood long before they stumbled upon the scene. Ears perking up and body tensing, Morgana looked down at the bodies, finding them covered in bugs. It wasn't a pleasant sight to see, but the feline was far more worried about the rising anger she felt from the man she was sitting on. It was steadily building back up to the terrifying aura she had felt before when she'd first stumbled upon him.

"Oi, Galand-boy.." Sighing, she'd tap his head once with a paw, then both of his shoulders with a swish of her tail. "You need to slow down.." Hopping down she ran her tail along his back, landing with a crunch in the snow below them. "I thought you said you didn't want t- Oh! Cold!" Huffing and fluffing her fur up in annoyance, she weaved between the man's feet, brushing her tail against both of his legs. Grumbling to herself, she hopped back up on his shoulder, attempting to shake the snow from her fur. By now Galand would definitely feel it. A new weight to him. It wasn't necessarily physical, but trying to fight now, trying to use his abilities would suddenly feel heavy. Curling back around his neck, she attempted to warm herself up again. "You told me you did not wish to be this way, so I will help you slow down and rest." Maybe he couldn't just nap whenever he wanted like she could, but forcing his power into a sleeping state was the best she could offer him. "If you truly wish to kill someone then I shall release you. Until that time, bear the weight."
