Ok, why after thousands of threads like this all over the internet, and millions of posts. Hundreds of millions of posts. Why has nobody managed to set a prescedent as to whether the band goes before the track, or whether the track goes before the band?

EDIT: I always put the band before the track, because it makes good sense to go from the more general to the more narrow. Explain yourselves, dissenters!

I do it the other way around because I always imagine the - represents 'by'
but your way probably makes more sense
