Another year, another Festival of Venus. And Mother had truly outdone herself this year. Where did she even keep this thing? Better not to think too hard about that, Iordanes decided.

He'd been assigned....lifeguard duty? Not up his usual alley, but at least it wasn't dancing. Watching the mortals frolic in the pool would be fairly entertaining, and he always liked sunbathing. He lounged in the high chair by the poolside, feeling beautiful and worthy of worship. This holiday was about Mother, as it always was, but he couldn't help but preen a bit.

From his vantage point he could see the mortals boarding the ship. It wouldn't be long before some found their way up to him. He expected many of the Naiad types would spend a lot of time here. Of course, they'd have no need of his lifeguarding "services". He twirled one of his arrows in his fingers. He could always spice things up if it got too quiet.

Euphrosyne did love parties! Not as much as Thalia, of course, but she hadn't been able to sit still all day! She bounced on her toes as she checked her wine cellar for like, the hundredth time. She just couldn't wait to share her bountiful harvest with everyone! She took the stairs up to the bar area two at a time and ducked under the rail. She scooted over to Himeros and bopped her shoulder against his a couple times. "When d'you think everyone'll get here?" she asked. This party was going to be so new and different! She loved the eleganza of Mother's normal ballroom parties just as much as she always, did, but this was exciting! Plus there would undoubtedly be a chance to have that formal dance, right?

A forward thinker, Koit was not. As such, not only had he not realized the need for such a thing as a reservation, he also didn't consider what consequences could come of showing up to an event like this without one. Clearly, it was not something that a pae would normally do. "Ah...!" he tried to chime in and make his plea, only for more of the little creatures to appear. There would be no getting a word in like this...

He had to bite down on his lip to keep from yelping in surprise at the sudden feeling of one's arm around his own. Although the pressure made flying awkward, it wasn't outright unpleasant. In fact, it was rather sof--...

Blushing lightly, he stopped his thoughts right then and there and began to play with the facade. "I've been looking all over for you! How on earth did we get separated?" Looking up at the one that had been leading the sprite, he gave his best 'natural' smile. "If you would." It was clear that the cherubs weren't buying their little act, but it was just as clear that they couldn't be bothered to care any further about it by the way they looked to each other and dispersed immediately.

Once they were left to their room alone, Koit clapped his hands together in apology. "I'm so sorry and thank you so much back there!" He smiled a much more natural smile than previously. "I'm Koit."

Ever since her little Stellar Jay had left the nest to become a great hunter and female of her own right, the harpy had continued with life as she normally did in recent times. She awoke with the sun's rays, hunted, rested, preened, traded, hunted further, ate, defended her territory, and fell into slumber. It was a simple life, her younger self continuing to regress and be forgotten to simple instinct.

But since she was but an egg, Sparrow had never missed the call of Venus, no matter the circumstance.

She'd heard word of this from the mouths of those of the nearby village and, much to her pleasure, had convinced them to secure a room of her own. Upon being shown it and sitting upon the bed, she relinquished to the sheer luxury of the room relative to her own abode.

She was on that surface for more than a few minutes, her eyes slowly threatening to drift to sleep in response to her own comfort. Until she abruptly stood up that was. Slapping her cheeks, Sparrow left her room to return to the main deck, her eyes (softly) scanning those coming in and those who had come before her.

Where would the food be hidden here...?

It had been decided, more or less without her knowledge, that Kelebek deserved a vacation. But before she knew it, her entire family had packed her things and were trundling her off to what was supposed to be a weekend of relaxation and fun. Frankly, she wasn't sure about this. She'd never been a lover of the land, and why would she want to sail over the ocean when she could swim in it? But they'd all been so earnest and wanted her to have a good time, she couldn't disappoint them. She had brought one "security blanket" from home, in the form of the gregarious Pearl. In her heart Kelebek felt terrible about using her youngest child as a social crutch, of sorts, but the dear girl seemed to enjoy it, and had been all too glad to come along. She loved outings and new experiences, and it made her smile to see Pearl so happy.

Although she hadn't expected her to not get legs.

It seemed Kelebek attracted the strange kind of Naiads, as now she had one grandchild who had legs and no tail, and one child who had a tail but no legs. Luckily Pearl had beautiful, gossamer wings to move her about on land, but it looked exhausting. "I'm sure there will be someplace for us to soak our tails, my love," she was saying sympathetically as they arrived. She gave her things to the helpful attendants with a gracious smile, and was about to turn to Pearl and suggest they go exploring, when Pearl practically bowled her over.

User Image
"Mama! Look! It's Autumn and Hjortur!" Pearl moved as fast as her delicate wings could carry her to her friend and almost knocked him over with a hug. She wasn't terribly nimble on these wings, honestly. She'd rather be swimming. She hoped there was a body of water onboard. If not....she could always jump over the side.

"You look awful," she said to Autumn. He was sweaty and sort of pale. "You okay? Mama says we're s'posed to get legs on land but she doesn't know why I didn't. Guess you didn't either. Is your back tired? Mine's super tired but I can't stop flapping these wings 'cause I don't know how to land and not break my tail? I'm so glad you're here 'cause now I can leave Mama to relax on her vacation and not be bored!" She gave him a squeeze.

Azure stopped, watching his wife from behind as she skipped along. He smiled. It made him feel so good to see her happy. He had done something right. Azure broke himself from the daze before she got too far ahead of him and took a few large steps to catch up with her. As the cherub went over the safety procedures, he was only half-listening, he was predominantly occupied with looking all around as they headed towards their room. "This is pretty exciting, isn't it?" He whispered in Dyas' ear, the blueberry boy in him couldn't wait until they set sail.

At last they got to their room, and he waited expectantly for the cherub to take its leave. "Great, thank you for all of your help." He said, leading the cherub to the door, hoping the chubby glorified Mellon would catch the hint.

Least he caught on quickly. But what exactly was an 'earth'? No matter. She had other more pressing things to worry about at the moment. So they hurried after the slightly annoyed cherub that was leading her previously to their room, her arm still linked with his to keep up the charade in case anyone followed or cared to keep track. But the instant their room door closed, she slipped out of the hold.

"Niday." She responded coolly to his name. A name deserved another, and social behaviors were what separated them from beasts. "If you plan to stay aboard, that will mean you will need to stay with me." Her eyes flicked around the room that was previously meant for a single, needing to be fit for a double. One bed. But a semi comfortable looking couch as well. "You get the sofa." Or the floor. Really anything that wasn't the bed, as she pointedly was claiming it. Otherwise she didn't care where he set up camp. "What brings you on without a reservation?"

She did her best to keep up with each new guest. Some winged bird pae, fluffy cat pae, and two more naiads were making their way up right that moment. She flashed a smile after her little speech. "Oh you're quite welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay." This was a great way to meet a lot of pae, she had to say!

Aquarious walked next to Thunali, her cheeks a healthy rosey glow as her companion carried not only his own bag, but also hers as well. This shouldn't have been a surprise, his chivalry, since he always did more than he needed to in all of the heavy lifting. And he was so honest, wearing his thoughts and feelings right on his face. Only he could have asked her to step outside of her comfort one and come to a crowded area where she was going to be forced to interact with all sorts of strangers. Anyone else, she would have rejected them, and probably laughed at their face like it was a joke or given them a strange look. Thunali brought out a more tolerating side of her, though, and she enjoyed being around him.

Peering into the room, his apology came right at the time where she realized that there was only one bed. And that was when her cheeks turned bright red. "It's ok, the bed looks wide enough to comfortably fit two." She paused, realizing that it was possible that Thulani was more anxious over this than she was. She paused for a moment, then walked over to him and took the bags from him, then slid her hands into his. "This will be a trip to remember. Thank you for inviting me." A gentle smile spread over her face.

Now as soon as Zimbali heard that Venus and the Erotes where going to be throwing a cruise, well, that was right up her alley! Sure, the last large get together she joined ended with ghosts and a, well, unconventional daughter, but kids were always a risk one took going to these things. And Zimbali, though not quite a lover in the romantic sense, was very much a lover is the physical sense. Sure, she thought that the Erotes could be a bit more leaniant and throw in some birth control, but hey, if she got lucky she got lucky.

She was also more than a bit excited to run into a certain Erote again. Mainly because the first was so short, and he seemed more ok with her lifestyle choices when it came to romance. As she read the itinerary she caught glimpse that he was running the bar later in the evening, and she made a mental note to go there later.

"Zana, sweet child get ya move on or Mama's gonna leave ya behind!" Zimbali called behind her.

User Image

Zana. Ayizana never really liked that nickname, but luckily she loved Mama so she never questioned it. And she really wasn't going to question it now, as this was the mixed race's first real foray into such a crowded area. There were so many Pae here! So many things to do! So many to watch with her glowing pupil-less eyes.

"Coming Mama," she said, her voice soft, yet lacking any real emotion to it. But she was happy, oh so very happy. There were all kinds of Pae races here, and with her and Mama living in a more secluded area, she never really came across a lot of others. She wondered about who they were, what their dreams were.

What their fears wear. Fears always interested her the most.

Pollux grinned as he tapped gnarled fingers together. He was surprised he was even invited to this thing, what being one of the potential 'babby daddys' that one year. Maybe they forgot all about that. Which was good, because that meant he could blend in with the others without much notice.

Well, blend in as much as a living cavity with wings COULD blend in anyway.

He had left Mellah, his ethereal mallow companion, at home for the trip. She never liked water, what with the potential dissolving and such. He was kind of glad about this fact. She had never left his side since her creation, and he did enjoy her company, but she prevented him from doing so many fun things, will all the 'no don't raise an army of cookie warriors to decimate the nearby town' and other such activities. Some time away from her constant nagging could be useful. He heard that any Erote get together was both fun AND dangerous, and that sounded right up Pollux's alley.

It had taken....a lot of convincing on Thaddeus' part to get Namaqua to agree to this. He felt ridiculous. He was surrounded by strangers. This boat shouldn't even exist--how did it stay afloat?--and not to mention he felt utterly disconnected from the earth. It was uncomfortable and he felt somewhat dizzy from the rocking motion.

But Thaddeus had insisted that it would be like an anniversary trip. And he just couldn't say no to his mate. And...not that he'd ever admit it, but it was nice to get away, just the two of them. With the addition of Amir and Tirzah, things were somewhat crowded in their humble little home. Not to mention loud.

So maybe this wouldn't be so bad. He glanced over at his mate as they made their way into a grand hall of sorts. He was as beautiful now as he had been the day they met. He couldn't help but smile. They were given directions to their room, and a helpful Mellon even took their luggage! Amazing how much weight those tiny creatures could carry.

He was feeling a bit overwhelmed by the grandeur of everything, and feeling a lot of emotions at once. He was just a simple Faun. Namaqua took Thaddeus' hand. "So...what do you want to do first?"

Kleta ducked, expertly avoiding the display of affection from one of the strangest mortals she had ever encountered. After spending so much time with more loving deities, one became very skilled at escaping unwanted hugs. "It really has been..." Kleta responded, thinking that it hadn't been long enough since the last time she had seen him.

"Oh, but I won't be doing any dancing this year, sorry to say. I have a very important job to do. However, Himeros is working in the bar and I am sure he would love to see your new tricks." a smile danced across her lips as she imagined what Himeros would think of this mortal.

As Pelagious danced off she sighed in relief. This boat was not going to be big enough to hide from him forever.

The nymph grinned broadly at the saying, as no truer words had ever been spoken. The first part at least, the mention of Hot Yoga twisted his face slightly. "Gast, ye sure know how to tear me in two. On one hook, seeing ye be twisted like seaweed on an anchor..." He gave a sidewise look with his good eye to sum her up and down. "...But I ain't doin' no pansy land-lubbin past time of 'Yoga'." His grin turned mischievous. "Can't we do our own 'yoga' 'ere?"

That was was he really would like to do. But perhaps he should at least wait until they set sail. Have an ounce of patience. He sauntered over to the activity list, his movements already looking more comfortable on the ship than they had on lands moments before. "...Manipedis...yoga...a dance..." He turned his head to look at Andromeda with a 'are you serious' expression. Was there NOTHING worthy of a bloodthirsty pirate on here?

So many sights! So many sounds! Adventures like these were only had in the books she read, not real life. And yet there they were, about to sail off to the ocean. It was exciting yet romantic, awe inspiring but dangerous. It truly did wonders to take her mind off of things back home.

There room didn't disappoint her either. Their own little porthole to look out at the ocean, how beautiful! She felt Azure lean close to her, and his soft whisper voice sent a shiver up her spine. The female couldn't help but blush, though they had been sweethearts since they were teens.

She trailed behind as he ushered the cherub out, her smile widening by the second. The instant that the door closed though, she slipped her arms around the angel to get close before standing on her tip toes to sweetly kiss his lips. What an amazing husband he was, thinking of this for them.

User ImageYukiko stepped onto the cruise ship and took a deep breath, letting a smile curve her lips. It was once again Venus Day and as usual, the goddess had something special planned. The snowy angel didn't have much faith in what usually went on at the goddess of love's parties, but Anteros would be there and Yukiko enjoyed any chance to see him. She knew he would be working during the trip but that was alright. She needed a chance to relax and unwind and... Well now that she thought about it perhaps coming to this party wasn't such a good idea. Still. She would see Anteros, and if she wasn't mistaken her darling son Adelphos had come as well. She just needed to have a little faith, she supposed, that maybe this year the gods and graces and erotes had taken precautions against anything bad happening to the ship and its occupants.

User ImageAs much as Adelphos loved being a father, it was nice to be getting a chance to relax alone with Ruby for a couple days. Well. Maybe not really alone, since they'd be on a boat full of other pae. Including the majority of his family. He had sent a letter to his mother asking if she was coming. He'd like to introduce her to Ruby, and tell her about her grandchildren. Except he hadn't received a response before they had left for the cruise. Ah, well. They would see her, or they wouldn't. Either way this was supposed to be a nice, relaxing vacation for him and Ruby. He was really trying not to think about what usually happened at his grandmother's parties. Turning to his love, Adelphos laced his fingers with hers. "What do you think you'd like to do first?" he asked with a smile.

User ImageFiruzeh gripped her husband's hand tightly as they made their way onto the giant boat. She was terribly excited to be there with him, and while both of their children had also come on the cruise she was sure that she and Noir would be able to have a romantic and happy trip together. So what if Venus's parties weren't always happy at the end? They'd been assured that this boat would be just fine. "So, my love," she started, leaning into him a bit. "What do you say to finding our cabin, and then seeing what wonderful things they have planned for the trip? I heard they had a casino on board, that might be fun to play," she said with a smile. She was also hoping for some...alone time with her husband, but she was sure there would be plenty of time for that kind of thing later.

User ImageOphelia stood on the top deck of the ship looking down with her hands on her hips. She was determined to have a ball while she was on this trip. Now that Valko was a teenager, she thought she could trust him on his own for a couple days. She couldn't say that she had been very trustworthy as a teenager, but she wouldn't know if she never gave him a chance to prove himself. And even if he did have a party at the house while she was gone...eh. Kids would be kids. He'd learn from it, or he wouldn't. But whatever. This was her time. She was going to have so much fun while she was here. Venus' parties were notorious! Maybe she'd even find a boyfriend while she was here. Or a girlfriend...hm. Ooh maybe both! She smirked to herself and checked the schedule she'd gotten from her cabin. First day was pretty boring, but that chocolate fountain sounded delicious...

In case Valko wants to avoid mom? xDD Also this is assuming she's been the one raising him >w> let me know if you want me to change anything~

User ImageUser ImageArc-en-Roche sighed as he hauled his sack of flour with him onto the ship. He was supposed to be meeting Lyneeson here, but he felt stupid carrying his bag of flour. He'd been sure that his mother wouldn't make him take it along...except then she caught him packing, the sack on his bed. She'd told him he couldn't leave kids at home whenever he wanted, so he'd better remember to take it. Lyneeson was going to laugh, which wouldn't make his embarrassment any better. Maybe he could get to the cabin first and dump the flour. Maybe his mother wouldn't notice him without it. Maybe, maybe, maybe... He'd take the chance. Heaving the floral patterned sack onto his shoulder, he made for the cabin that apparently he and Lyneeson were sharing. Which that was okay with him. Not like they hadn't had sleepovers before. He just hoped Lyn would warn him if he brought a girl to the cabin...
Fea Line
bahahaha.....flour sack =w=

User ImageCarnelian was so not supposed to be here. Absolutely not. Her parents were coming on this trip to relax, or so she and her siblings had been told. But after hearing stories about all of Venus' previous parties, there was no way she was sitting this out! So after her parents had gone, she'd slipped from her room and found her way to the ship. As far as she knew, her siblings were left behind and she was okay with that. But she wasn't going to be bored when it looked like there was so much fun to be had. Also, she had heard there was going to be a chocolate fountain! A fountain of chocolate!! She was so not going to miss that. Open sparring sounded like fun, too, and learning how to fight would probably be useful. But that wasn't until the next day. She just needed to stay out of sight of her parents until the ship left the dock and she would be golden for the weekend!

Autumn just about fell over as Pearl more-or-less barreled into him, the two of them spinning for a few times from the impact before they came to a stop. He grinned and returned her hug, suddenly not feeling so upset anymore about the prospects of this trip. He could have a trip of adventures with his bestest best friend!

"Heeeeey!" He whined, not really making any other movement to accent it. "You can't just say somenaiad looks awful! How mean!" He feigned pouting before laughing; couldn't stay upset with her too long. "Yeah, dad said I was suppose' to get legs like him but I didn't and so I'm flying and I was wanting to go home but now you're here so let's go find water I think there's some on the boat," he looked over at the cherub, "right?" At the nod of affirmation, he grinned and looked right at Pearl.

"You're coming too! Swimming is easier than flying!" Letting go of the hug, he reached to grab her hand and pull her forward with him after the cherub.

Upon hearing the familiar commotion, Hjortur looked first at the pair of teens, and then further down the ramp as he waved at the incoming Kelebek. When she drew closer, he laughed. "Always a restless bunch, those two, are they not? Oh, I wonder where they are going?" He mused aloud as they continued away from them. "I think Autumn wanted to get back in some water..." he mumbled before shrugging and returning his attention to the lovely naiad beside him. "How were your travels here; uneventful I presume?"

User ImageIt was with much trepidation and annoyance that Lucious had accepted Adora's invitation. He had so much work to do, and he'd not heard from her in seasons. It was pleasantly surprising - much to his agitation - to think she actually wanted see him again.

No it didn't make him smile reading the nicknames she used. Shut up.

His sister, Lucia warned him about going to one of this parties. She'd attended many years ago, and that's how Shae came around. She loved her daughter to death, and couldn't imagine life without her, but it was definitely jarring to think just going to a party and having a little fun resulted in having children. She knew her brother had no interest in starting a family or even dealing with little brats. His mother brought enough of those around to sate any potential desire he might have. Or perhaps cure it.

He was properly warned. And he mulled it over for days, but eventually agreed to meet Adora there. He berated himself the entire trip to the docks, too. But his family had convinced him to take a vacation because he was working too much. Socializing couldn't hurt either.

The sight of the huge ship stopped him mid-air. Oh what am I getting myself in to.

He spotted the little pink girl waiting, having not yet boarded. He grinned and flew down, landing off to her side a bit, out of eyeshot. (He hoped). He straightened up and ruffled his fingers through his hair before marching towards the boarding ramp. He walked just past her with a sly grin, and bumped her shoulder a bit. "I'm sorry miss -- oh, it's you."

Pearl giggled, actually snorting a bit. "Bye Mama!" she called over her shoulder as Autumn whisked her away. "I'll come find you later!" Returning her attention to her friend, she added, "She needs a vacation. I hope she has fun and I don't have to babysit her too much. Your dad looked happy to be here. Has he been on a ship before?"

When they reached the pool Pearl wasted no time jumping right in. "Ahhh!" she sighed. She hadn't realized how dry her skin was feeling. She rubbed the water into her shoulders and forearms. "So, I'm basically not planing to get out until we get home, how about you?" she wrinkled her nose cutely.

Kelebek was perhaps more relieved to see a familiar face than she'd like to admit. "She has so much energy," she agreed once she was closer. "I can't remember being that bouncy, even at her age!" She shook her head with a smile. "It's good to see her with a friend, though. We don't get many visitors at home." Kelebek watched them go. She'd be okay on her own. "Our travels? Oh, yes, uneventful, except for the discovery that Pearl doesn't grow legs." She looked down at her own feet. They were still such an odd sight to her, even after getting used to them. "She doesn't seem too concerned about it. But I am curious, especially after seeing that Autumn keeps his tail out of water too." She tapped a finger on her chin. "What d'you suppose that's about?"
