Not even a groan found its way past Cain's dry and tortured throat. His entire being was numb, yet aware. From what was left of his vision he could see only a sandy blur cast against the dark sky, no solid shapes, not shadows. All he could see was a mingle of color splotches.

Though he could not hear what Riot was saying, something within him knew that he was being spared a fate he had deserved. No, his punishment would not be death, but to endure the world after this failure. His face would be disfigured and his weapons were to be taken away. As the vines begun to wrap around his legs he could only feel the slight pressure of being ensnared.

As his claws were pulled from his paws one by one his frame twitched just slightly, only enough for one with sharp eyes to notice. His frame remained still and his voice was silenced. That "something" within continued to relay information in the form of a mere feeling. There was a reason he was not ended there that day, but the path he had chosen would continue to reap its consequences. While his mind continued to dwindle out of awareness his breathing begun to calm more. Those colorful splotches were melting with the blackness of the sky.

Nikita glanced at the tail, but made no move for it. That would come later. For now she sat in complete silence while she watched Riot walk around the creator of their torment (Or at least the lacky of it). She had no expectations of what Riot was going to do. This was completely up to him, and for now, she was going to watch.

When the vines slithered into view and Riot begun to take his "pound of flesh" Nikita held her gaze on Cain's eyes. It had been a long dream of theirs to end his life... and now they could not. Not with what he was going to do. Some day they would meet again, and he would remember this.

Once all of his claws were removed she moved toward Cain. Her mind held Cain's paws up while she lowered her head to the newly de-clawed knuckles. The horns begun to crackle than crack before they erupted with a hot fire. Each toe she cauterized the wound of the freshly removed claws.

As soon as each toe was tended to she looked back to Riot. Steam hissed from her horns before they returned to normal. Her frame shivered as more heat had left her body. The consequences of her new powers as she would later find out.

"You d-done?" She spoke to Riot with a slight shiver in her tone as well.

A breath released from Riot as his mind released the vines. As Nikita approached, Riot sat up and took a few steps back so she could easily reach Cain's maimed paws.

"Yes, Yoliliztli." Rumbled softly from Riot, his eyes turned from the mess that was Cain to look at Nikita. Her strong body was shaking, and taxed. Taking careful paw steps closer to her. His blaze blue eyes placed themselves on her own as he wordlessly offered to take her weight.

Nikita had gotten bigger-stronger, but he was still bigger then she...If she didn't want to do that, he could at least walk right beside her to shield her from the wind and rain as best as he could. She just needed to rest and get out of the rain. As soaked as Riot was, he wasn't going to be much help until he dried off. Perhaps, he could make a burrow for her to rest in.

Any care that Cain was there left in the rain, was focused on taking care of Nikita at this point. Weaver didn't want him to be killed, but if he died...well then the weaver must have wanted it that way. Riot at this point didn't care about the broken mess. No, his focus was on Nikita. Eyes where they should be...

The cool water would no doubt be a blessing to Cain. However, that was least on her mind. Whatever happened next was in the weaver's hands. If Cain survived it would surely be meant to be... if not, it was not their place to take his life.

Nikita glanced back at Riot, silently accepting his offer to take her weight. Though the rain had stopped when she ascended she could feel the droplets returning. The fresh scent of another rainstorm permeated the air. Small droplets begun to fall from the sky.

Riot's fur may have been damp, but he was still warm. Warmer than her at least. An internal chill begun to take hold, anything warmer than she felt would be nice. In fact, without thinking too much on it, Nikita had managed to scoot closer to Riot so her chilled frame pressed against his soaked fur. As if she was drawn to the only source of heat.

"You lead..." Nikita added with a grateful sigh.

"We wont go fair..." Riot softly reassured Nikita, knowing she need to rest. "I can make you a nice little cave to sleep and get warm in. How does that sound?" The Tahtll offered as he began to start their trek. Closing his eyes, Riot took in a slow breath and released it.

Paces away, the earth rumbled and started to shift. It groaned as it started to seemingly birth a new hole in the ground. Riot's heavy paw steps slowly as his thoughts continued to pull and shifted the burrow. He had to make some shelter for Nikita, She was too tired for them to be looking too far and for too long.

As they approached, Riot released a breath, and let his eyes take a glance at the hole.

"It's almost done..." Riot answered, keeping Nikita's weight his own body started to tremble as the hole stretched and opened up even more for Nikita to fit comfortably with her horns. The extra earth that had been carved from the earth, had been crushed to a sand that would make up the insulating bedding that would help keep what warmth she had with her. With a bit more work, he could make a bit more room from him...

"you...know, I am...proud of you..." The Tahtll breathed, letting his eyes close as his thoughts went back to the cave and it's construction. His own breathing picked up as if he had been running after a meal. Slowly, Riot's hunches lowered to the ground. His large tree trunk of a tail, shifted to rest around his body.

Nodding to the hole, a wet mawed smiled and gestured for Nikita to get comfortable. If she so wished.

Nikita kept as close as possible while they walked and continued to keep close while Riot worked on the cave. She watched as the earth shifted and moved about as if some unseen hand were molding the earth for a perfect shelter.

When he spoke of being proud of her, Nikita offered a soft and weary smile.

This change that had taken place was grand but was too new to be adapt at using any ability. For the future she would have to remember that the fire she uses takes away from her own heat. Perhaps there would be a way to replenish that heat. At the moment she could look forward to resting in the warm sand along side her Yoliliztli.

"I am proud of you as well... " Nikita spoke softly.

She knew what he wanted to do, she herself wanted to do it as well. End Cain's life. However, both had shown restraint. Perhaps it had to do with their transformation?

As soon as Riot sat back on his haunches Nikita gave him a gentle nudge. She hoped to coax him forward into the shelter as well.

Everything from now on would be different.

As Nikita nudged him, Riot's maw parted in a little smile and a tired chuckle left his maw. His thoughts put the finishing touches on the cave, a small mote was dressed around the hole so that water wouldn't pool into the bottom of their make shift shelter.

Shifting to her nudge, Riot turned on his hunches and slipped into the hole. Admittedly, it was a tight and little squeeze. Hunches stooped as his tan dirty toes, where the last to fade into the cave. The moment he past the threshold of the cave, he felt sand start to cling on to his wet pelt. His body turned and shifted to press and molded against the back of the hole making as much room for Nikita as he could. His large tail made it to the entrance, and it's tip twitched as he made himself comfortable.

Releasing a breath, Riot's eyes started to close, but remained open to make sure Nikita was on her way in.

It wasn't long before Nikita joined Riot in their newly made shelter, and none too soon. As soon as she was fully covered by the earth the heavens let loose and once again the rain fell mercilessly to the ground.

Nikita pressed as much as possible against Riot's frame. If anything it would keep the both of them warm. Her frame curled around itself in as small of a ball as she could manage. Considering everything that had just happened, Nikita had yet to truly realize how her size had changed.

Her tail curled over her nose as she tucked her paws close her her frame. The sand was a comfortable touch. Unlike Riot, her own fur was bone dry and soft as a cloud. The sand hardly clung to her fur. Still, Nikita continued to press against Riot's side as best she could. The wetness of his fur did not bother her in the least.

So long as she could feel his heart beat, she was happy.

Cain had little time to dwell on anything before his mind drifted completely. His life seemed to be fading from him... yet, not. Barely clinging a thread of life. The rain washed over his mangled frame. His body was too numb to truly realize how much of a blessing that cool water really was.

His mind faded to what seemed to be a dream. One of which he would not remember now. Not yet. It was not the time.

As Nikita moved into the cave, Riot let his blue eyes rest. His nose turned back and his head rested in the sand. Luckily his understand wasn't too wet, and wouldn't pull too much heat from Nikita, if anything make it easier or her to stay warm. After a bit their little hole in the ground would be warm and snug enough.

Feeling Nikita press up against him, Riot let out a soft grunt, as his paw readjusted to not get tangled up in her horns. His chin shifted just a bit as well. releasing a soft breath, He use a bit more of his energy to cover the whole a bit with a bit of brush, but not enough to keep airflow from entering the burrow. It would be snug and hopefully warm enough for his fire.

A soft purr rumbled from Riot as Nikita made herself comfortable, and Riot finally allowed himself to rest. His large tail, moved it's self to curl at the entrance of the hole. Once more for the sake of defense and making sure that any water that made it past the mote would be stopped by his tail, and not Drench the sand and Nikita. Large brown paws reached and grabbed mindless in a happy cub like kneeding.

Everything just seemed so right in B'alam at that moment.
