Shou Hiryuu

Shou tensed a bit feeling something bash into his leg, but immediately relaxed once he had remembered that Ryu and Celeste were there. Looking down at the tiny dragon, Shou smiled a bit and rubbed Ryu's head before turning his attention onto Celeste as she spoke. When she offered him the food he nodded and smiled a bit "Yeah chicken is great. Thank you." he said warmly, thoughts about Terrin already leaving his mind. Taking the plate before going over to the table and taking a seat with Celeste.

Celeste got up from the table and Shou thought that she was going to go grab something, only for her to lick his wound before placing a bandage over it. His face turning red he looked down at his plate, trying to comprehend what just happened. He tried to remember some of the things his mother had told him about dragons, thinking that maybe it could explain something, but his mind was drawing a blank. "Uhh, it feels a lot better. Thank you." he said before quickly taking a bite of the food trying to cover his awkwardness. "This is really good. Better than anything I probably would have made." Shou said laughing a bit.

Then his face grew a bit more serious "They found your home, along with an eggshell. They know that you couldn't have gone far with a child, so they know you're in the area." Shou said a bit nervously, he didn't want to hide the fact from her. "You're more than welcome to stay here. It's nice having the company.. I just thought I would let you know... you know, in case you wanted to leave soon." Shou said looking back at Celeste before taking another bite of the food.

She giggled as his face turned red. "Dragon saliva helps injuries heal faster plus stops bleeding." She said as ryu climbed into her lap as Shou took a bite. "Thanks. I was hoping you'd like it." She said smiling as she too started eating happily. Ryu cuddled in her lap hugging her tail for comfort before she smiled at him. She loved her baby very much. As she ate with Shou, she could hear something, It sounded like a sneeze outside of the front door. "Someone's here." She whispered before she went to hide.

Shou Hiryuu

Shou smiled a bit as Celeste explain the awkward lick ordeal and Ryu climbed up into her lap. He felt like she had more to say but she had stopped due to hearing someone outside and shortly after, someone knocked. He nodded slightly "Alright you go hide I'll go take a look." Shou spoke quietly getting up from his chair. He watched Celeste walk off with Ryu before he went over to the door and unlocking the bolt, whoever was on the other side was making a lot of noise. As soon as Shou had started to open the door, a large hand pushed it forcefully open revealing Terrin. "Terrin? Is something wrong? Am I needed somewhere?" Shou asked taking a few steps back as the man stepped in. In the darkness behind Terrin, Shou could make out the figures of two men on their horses, though as far as he knew there were more.

Terrin glared down at Shou "Yes, you're needed. Tell us where the dragon is." Terrin spoke harshly. "I already told you! I have no -" Shou was cut off as Terrin punched him in the stomach and grabbed onto his hair pulling Shou's face close to his own. "Everyone knows how your mother was a dragon lover. She was tainted, and so are you. Now spill it." Terrin spoke through gritted teeth. "Sir! I am a knight! Loyal to the Kingdom and protector of its people! If you don't -" again Shou was cut off as Terrin threw him onto the ground, making Shou land on his back. "You're not a knight, you're a prisoner. Or have you not figured that out yet?" Terrin spat at him then took a look around the house as he stood over Shou who had pushed himself into a sitting position. "Anyone here, come on out, now!" Terrin called out his sword at the ready in case Shou made any sudden movements. Stay hidden, please just stay hidden Shou thought to himself repeatedly. Terrin was brutal, even to people other than Shou, though Shou tended to get the worst of it. The last thing he wanted was for Terrin to get his hands on Celeste and Ryu.

❂Celeste Dragonsbane❂

A low growl escaped Celeste as she saw Shou get pushed around. She knew humans were brutal but this, this just made her angry. She then hid Ryu when she got an idea. "Stay here." She whispered before she went out the window and landed on the roof with her tail and wings showing in the darkness. She then threw a rock on Terrin as her body could hide in the shadows. Then she landed in front of him in her dragon form growling and baring her fangs at Terrin right in his face as he would turn around. being a Night Fury, there were not many left and it was illegal to kill her without permission from the king. Night Furies were not usually in this area but Celeste had to make a stop to lay her egg and care for it.

As she stood between Shou and Terrin she hissed before she used her tail to grab Terrin's leg before she threw Terrin and transformed back into her halfling form. "You dare to anger a Night Fury! A human like you!" She said in an angry voice knowing they might not understand her. She had her claws out and ready to fight. Ryu, unable to stay away from his mother, ran over to Shou crying as he was scared and wanted his 'daddy' to protect him.

Shou Hiryuu

As a rock hit him, Terrin's attention turned onto the dragon and he couldn't help but to smirk a bit. "A night fury huh?" Terrin spoke mostly to himself then noticed Ryu running over to Shou. "I knew it." Terrin spoke, again not to anyone in particular. He made a small motion with his hands towards his men behind him and they started forming a circle around Celeste, Shou, and Ryu. Grabbing onto Ryu and holding him close to his body, Shou got back onto his feet and unsheathed his sword. Remembering what Celeste had told him about humans not being able to understand her, Shou spoke up. "Terrin, they haven't done anything wrong, stop this nonsense!" Shou yelled angrily looking around at the men that Terrin had brought with him. Getting a bit closer to Celeste in order to watch her back, Shou spoke quietly. "Grab Ryu, and fly." he spoke not taking his eyes off of the men surrounding them.

Terrin laughed "Nonsense? These are dragons, are you aware of what they have done to the people you have sworn to protect?" Terrin asked mockingly. Shou gritted his teeth, he hated the way that people talked about dragons as if they were the devil. Turning his attention back onto Celeste he spoke "Now then, we can do this the easy way, where you just come with us, or the hard way, where we fight and you end up coming with us." Terrin spoke giving a small smirk.

Celeste looked at Shou before she said "No. The only way we can end this nonsense is to let them see for themselves why Dragons are attacking cattle. It's your King's fault because he keeps knocking down more and more trees. It's causing our natural food supply to go further away each day. If we can get them to see what he's doing they'll see why we keep coming here for food." She said taking Ryu into her arms as he wanted her. She nuzzled her and said "Don't worry sweetie. We'll be fine." She said as one of the men tried to grab Ryu from her. She bit him and hissed protectively doing the same as a human mother would, well except her way was more dragon like.

Shou Hiryuu

"Celeste, they don't understand you, we need to think this through." Shou spoke quietly hearing Celeste hiss at one of the guards that approached them. Terrin raised an eye brow a small smirk on his face "You understand it? Well I'm sure that the commander will be pleased to hear that." Terrin spoke, Shou tensing a bit. Terrin gave a small shrug "Hard way it is then." he said with a wicked smile before lunging forward with his sword, his men all moving in to attack as well.

Without hesitation, Shou stepped in between Terrin and Celeste, blocking the attack with his own sword. "They're only trying to find the food that the Kingdom has taken from them by destroying the woods." Shou spoke angrily looking at Terrin. From the corners of his eyes he could see the men moving in with weapons drawn and nets at the ready. "Dragons can fly, they can find food elsewhere." Terrin said swinging his sword at Shou who blocked it.

Then just before another man was about to stab Shou, Celeste took the blow for him and let out a small roar of pain. Ryu was under her wings for protection. Celeste managed to knock the man out with one blow but fell to the ground in pain. Ryu, being a baby, was too young to do anything. He roared at Shou crying wanting his mommy to be okay. Celeste managed to pull Ryu to her hugging him close as her wings were chained together. Celeste held Ryu close to her scared that she would lose the last thing she had to remind her of her husband.

Shou Hiryuu

Hearing Ryu cry out, Shou glanced over seeing Celeste chained on the ground. "Celeste!" Shou called out. He noticed one of the men coming at him and quickly dodged, knocking the man onto the ground with a kick, only to be disarmed as another man clashed with his sword tossing it to the side. Quickly turning, Shou spotted Terrin with his sword raised coming down at him. Raising his arms to guard his vital points out of pure habit, Shou knew that the sword would be likely to slice through his arm, but he had no time to dodge. Feeling a sharp pain, Shou let out a yell and took a few steps back. To his surprise his arm was still attached and he noticed that the men seemed to be staring at his arm. Casting a quick glance at his arm, not wanting to take his attention off of Terrin, Shou noticed red and black scales covering part of his arm. What... what's going on? he thought to himself, feeling light headed he took another step back seeing Terrin smirking in front of him. Not a moment after, a heavy net fell on him pinning him onto the ground as the weights on the edges of the net hit the ground. The last thing he saw was Terrin standing above him before knocking him unconscious.

Waking up, Shou's head seemed to be spinning and rubbing his head he could feel a bump and the rattling of chains. Looking at his wrists, Shou spotted the source of the noise, around each was a shackle that was chained to the wall behind him. Looking around he realized that he was in a large cell, one of the ones used for holding more violent criminals, and dragons. Looking across from his cell he spotted a shape in the darkness of the other cell. "Celeste?" he called out quietly, pushing himself up into a sitting position, his back against the wall.

Celeste was bandaged up but was still in a lot of pain. She hugged Ryu close to her wincing as she heard Shou talking to her. She was shivering from the blood loss that and the cold air in the cells. Dragons, being reptiles, needed sunlight to survive. Adult Dragons needed heat, hence why they normally lived in warm areas. Celeste was keeping Ryu warm with her body heat, and the only blanket they had given her which she had wrapped around him, hoping to keep him alive. Her face was pale having been in the cell for a few hours already. "Shou......" She said weakly as she was trying to respond to him but could only whisper from how cold and weak she was. She was laying on a hot spot she made with what little fire she could muster. Celeste needed help for her wound by a person who had experience with dragons, not humans. The stitches holding the wound close wouldn't do a thing since her skin was so thick. SHe then winced with a painful groan as she tried to get to shou but was chained to the wall by her legs and neck. Ryu was crying silently snuggled into his mommy. He wanted to go outside and be with his family but something told him it wasn't going to happen any time soon. Celeste's breathing was shaky as she weakly kept trying to pick the lock with her claws.

Shou Hiryuu

Shou let out a small sigh of relief hearing Celeste's voice. Looking at the bandages on his body he looked at the one covering his arm where Terrin had slashed it open, scales being the only thing that kept his arm attached. Shaking his head a bit, Shou tried clearing his thoughts I must have imagined it he thought to himself looking back over at Celeste. "Are you and Ryu all right?" he asked pulling at his chains a bit as he tried to find any loose links. The cells were cold and Shou could feel the heat draining from his body, he knew why they kept it cold down here. We need to get out of here, fast he thought "Any ideas?" Shou asked trying to hide the concern in his voice.

"I'm afraid not. I'm too weak to walk let alone stand from blood loss and the cold. Plus I'm barely able to breathe from the pain." She said wincing as she held Ryu close to her not wanting to lose her newborn. She was so weak she was falling asleep which she was trying to fight. Poor Celeste would die if they didn't get out of there and fast. She could hardly move without pain from the stab wound and they refused to give dragons pain killers thinking they deserved the pain. Ryu then got an idea. Since the guard was asleep, he wriggles through the bars of their cell, got the keys and took them to Shou wanting him to save his mommy. Though he was shivering by the time he got to Shou and snuggled into his shirt for warmth, his scales were freezing cold to the touch and he desperately wanted to warm up.

Shou Hiryuu

Shou's mind was swarming with thoughts as he tried to think of something to get them out of there. That was when he noticed Ryu slipping out of the cell and nabbing the keys off of the guard before walking over to him. Wincing a bit in pain, Shou grabbed the keys and kept Ryu wrapped up inside his shirt trying to let his body heat warm him up "Good job, Ryu" Shou whispered quietly. Using the keys, Shou took off he shackles one at a time lowering each quietly onto the ground so he wouldn't alert the guard.

Opening his cell door, Shou moved on over to Celeste's cell and quietly opened it, after readjusting Ryu. Moving next to Celeste, he set to work removing her shackles and quietly placing them onto the floor. "Come on. We have to get out of here." Shou spoke quietly resting a warm hand on Celeste's shoulder.

"i'll do my best." She said quietly before she got up using all of her strength to follow Shou out of the jail they were in. Once they were out, she asked "Where will we go? There's no way they'd let us go back to your home." quietly as they walked out of the jail. Ryu was still in Shou's shirt gripping on it with his little head poking out of it.

Shou Hiryuu

Shou's stayed close to Celeste as they snuck past the guard and out of the dungeon. "Lean on me if you want to." Shou spoke quietly as he peered around a corner. "I... I don't know... we'll figure something out." Shou admitted, adjusting Ryu again as the dragon poked his head out. "We can stop at my house for supplies at the very least. From there... I guess we'll play it by ear or something."
