Finally, another Zubat decided to show itself to the team, leaving Lexera able to attack on her own. She realized that maybe a cave wasn't the best place to train an electric-type, given how abundant the ground-types were in this cave. They'd make quick passage through the cave either way. At this pace, it'd likely be nightfall by the time they reached Azalea, if not well into the night. She might just rest outside the cave for the night and arrive in Azalea bright and early in the morning to challenge the gym. Though her memories failed her on what type the gym used. Mave herself wasn't saying much, happily watching everyone battle the wildlife.

Meeting with a Sandshrew and a Rattata in the form of another double battle, Avikna was actually caught off guard when a male trainer started to cheer for her. She made quick work of both Pokemon, Using Lexera to deal with the Rat and Zelda to take on the Sandshrew with Play Rough. Avikna approached Lexera a hand resting down on the sheep's high fluffed wool. A slight tingle ran up her arm from the static electricity that circulated through Lexera's wool, causing the hair on Avikna's arm to stick up. "She's mightly strong for a little one." The male stated with a grin. "Would you mind if I had a go at her? In a Pokemon battle of course." A trainer battle might yield more results. With a nod, Avikna stepped back. The male eagerly put some distance between Avikna and himself as well. "I'm, Maxwell by the way, but everyone calls me Max for short, or just because Maxwell doesn't really fit me." He chuckled. "I'm just starting out as a trainer, kind of late to the race I know, but I've always wanted to try it out for myself." Avikna sighed lightly to herself. He was a talker... " What about you? What's your name, Miss?" Talking meant conversation. "You been a trainer long yourself? I bet you have, you look tough... I don't think me and my pals here will last long, but it's worth a shot."

She couldn't stay silent for long. Avikna never means to be rude, but when it came to conversation, she'd rather trust the person she was talking to... but that was a side of her that she had to get over. Of course she wasn't going to trust this stranger right off the bat, but if she was ever going to function like a proper human being in society she'd have to just.... talk back. "Avikna." She replied, swallowing a lump in her throat. Was she.. actually nervous? "My name is Avikna, and yes... I have been a trainer for a long time, a very long time." She added. "Lexera is young, she's not really up to fighting by herself. Would you mind a double battle?" That wasn't so hard. The man seemed pleased with her answers as well.
"Sure, I think that's perfect actually." Unclipping another ball from his bag, the male tossed forward both spheres. From inside them, a Plusle and a Magnemite appeared. He trained electric-types... so that explained it, he was eager to battle Lexera because of her typing. "Let's make this interesting, if I win, you'll tell me about your adventures over lunch, if you win, I'll give you anything you'd like." That really wasn't what Avikna would call interesting, but.... this was what normal everyday trainers did. Didn't they? She nodded to tell him he agreed. "Alright! Then let's begin!"

Needless to say, Avikna won. Astrid was the powerhouse of the battle, if only because of type advantage and speed over the Magnemite. Avikna was ready to just tell the male she'd take some cash or the like, but after the male returned his fallen Pokemon with a sad, but satisfied look in his eyes, Lexera began to glow. Shortly after the quadruped was soon standing on two legs, facing towards Avikna with a tired look in her eyes. She finally evolved.

"I knew it." The male exclaimed suddenly. "That static build up was most certainly a sign she was going to evolve soon." Walking forward, the male left a small gap between Avikna and himself. "So, you won, what would you like from me?" He asked, moving to pull his bag off his shoulder. Avikna shook her head.
"I don't need anything." She replied. "Thank you for the battle." She felt odd saying those words, but it was common courtesy to say them. The male stopped, glancing up with a frown.
"You sure? I mean... I have some items that would be nice for an Electric-type like her, or... maybe something for your dragon?" Avikna once more shook her head. "Alright, how about some advice then? I've heard there's a wild group of Lapras that come to this cave once a day, they have been for several years, but only one at a time, each time one is battled and captured, another takes it's place...I don't know what for, but you look like someone who'd be interested in a Lapras." He was right, but Avikna already had a Lapras... Ephixa. Though, the prospect of this once a day ordeal seemed interesting.
"I am, Thanks." Satisfied he'd managed to give Avikna something for his win, the male bid her and her Pokemon a farewell. Avikna instantly turned to Mave, and the wolf already knew what was going to happen next. They were going to be in here for a lot longer than planned.

Her search for the Lapras begun, Avikna was now finding the wildlife a nuisance to deal with. A wild Rattata appeared to take revenge over Avikna's defeat of it's comrade. Lexera easily deal with the Rattata with Thunder, clearing the path only to be stopped by a Sandshrew. Lexera's typing and move pool just weren't going to work on this one, so again, she had to resort to using a different Pokemon, which really wasn't all that much of a hassle, given she choose Zelda, who she was already wishing to train a bit more.

Sending Zelda forward to use Surf, Avikna watched as the Sandshrew was quickly dealt with. It opened her to a new path that lead down some stairs. Eager to press forward, she didn't stop to think about where these stairs would lead her. As luck would have it, she met a body of water, leading deeper in the cave. Perhaps this was the way to go? Glancing around at her team, she eventually called out Ule'tra to use as her transporter Pokemon... he wasn't to happy about this.

The two of them instantly butt heads after Avikna told Ule'tra to get into the water. He never took kindly to orders, and Avikna knew this, but something in her she couldn't control didn't want to settle for another Pokemon. Forehead to Forehead, Avikna's hands wrapped around Ule'tra's claws. Her foot placed firmly in front of the other she pushed back against the dragon's push into her. "Just.... Get...In...the... water... Ule...Tra!" She growled between her teeth. Ule'tra returned with a growl, likely a command that she'd have to make him. Of course Mave, Astrid or Zelda could have broken the two up, but Mave advised against it. She could see in the deep reaches of Avikna's mind, and not long after the events of Iron Island, Ule'tra had confined in Mave something she was forever meant to keep secret, until the day Avikna finally came to her senses... it really wasn't that obscure. Ule'tra liked this. He loved testing Avikna. Making her lose her temper and attack him head first. Terra came out of her ball, wanting to watch Ule'tra in action. She silently cheered for her father-figure to win the make-shift sumo fight. Ule'tra could at anytime easily overpower Avikna, but as he loved fighting with her, he'd let her believe she was actually holding him back.

Under her tanned skin, Avikna was getting beat red with frustration and... well, pushing a Garchomp with all her might. She was also quickly getting tired. Once her grip began to slip, her foot dragging along the earth, Ule'tra decided enough was enough, and quickly tossed her to the side, forcing Avikna down into the water. He moved over to the water's edge and grunted in her direction. Likely an insult or the like. Avikna tread water for a moment, narrowing her eyes at the dragon before finally swimming to the water's edge and pulling herself back on dry land. "Real hilarious, Ule'tra..." Avikna grumbled, ringing her dress shirt. "Now I'm soaking wet, in a damp cave..." Mave quickly approached, motioning towards an abandoned nest, likely used by the Rattata's of the cave.
'We could burn that for a fire and you could let your clothes... and other essentials dry.' She stated. Avikna glanced down to her bag.... it was soaking wet too.
"For... F...grr..." She glared at Ule'tra before turned on her heel and heading over to the nest. With everyone's help, they'd eventually set up a makeshift camp sight. Sitting on Mave's tail, leaning into her warm fur, Avikna was quickly drying herself off. Arietty didn't mind letting some of Avikna's clothes hang off her wings, they'd dry faster thanks to her body temperature and ability, sucking all the moisture from the air was also useful to start a fire with the previously damp nesting. Avikna's belongings all laid across the cave floor, drying off. The Pokedex surprisingly was water proof, and thank goodness so was her badge case.

Huddled under Mave's wing, time passed by slowly. Avikna was getting impatient, also do to the fact that she was getting comfortable leaning against Mave. Watching her team move about the makeshift camp, Avikna noticed something. A lack of wildlife... they'd attacked her nonstop up on the ground floor, maybe they were simply angry with travelers and focused on that floor, while down below... it was much more chill. Adjusting over Mave's tail, Avikna glanced down at her things, resting out across the floor. She had an abundance of tm's of which she couldn't use. With her clothes and bag finally dry, Avikna got dressed and headed over to the pool where Ule'tra waited. The dragon swam close to the surface, this time allowing Avikna on his back. He'd had his fun, so for now he'd be obedient. This didn't stop him from diving down deeper in the water at points to make Avikna tug his dorsal fin in protest. The water path was rather long, but before long, the two finally emerged into a large open pool. Sheer cliffs hugged the pool, making no good place for them to dock. Astrid and Zelda, who'd tagged along, stopped at either side of Avikna. Zelda was enjoying the water, having gone so long without being able to soak up water into her scales. Though... the seahorse did feel a bit off. This place reminded her of that cave... where she'd faced off against Yveltal, it was foreboding to say the least.

The wait wasn't long though. as the shift in the water level changed, rising higher, the silhouette of a Pokemon appeared in the dim lighting of the cave. Not long after, as the male had told Avikna, a single Lapras appeared in the waters before her. The Lapras seemed enjoyed to see the waiting human, as if it were it's destiny to one day meet one. floating closer it stopped with a sizable gap separating them. It appeared to be a normal Lapras, nothing very notable at all, but still... Avikna wanted to catch it now that she'd come this far. "Zelda, use Surf to weaken it. " Avikna instructed. Even a strong water-type like that might have troubles with rough waves. Zelda floated forward, summoning a strong tidal wave of water. It knocked the Lapras back. It quickly recovered, and seemingly hesitated, as if it didn't want to fight Avikna or her Pokemon. Closing it's eyes, it decided to go for a non-damaging attack in sing. The melody was peaceful, so peaceful, it put Zelda asleep, and nearly the rest of the group. Astrid quickly went over to retrieve the sleeping Zelda, while Avikna pulled an Ultra Ball from her bag. "You don't want to fight?" Avikna asked in a hushed tone. The Lapras nodded, floating forward once more. Lapras were highly intelligent, so much so they could understand human speech, even still... to catch it without a fight? It wasn't like Avikna didn't have Pokemon she didn't catch without fighting, but still.. something seemed cheap to simply let it let itself be caught. Didn't it want it's freedom? Was there something this Lapras knew that Avikna didn't?

With a sigh, she gripped the Ultra Ball in her hand tightly. "Fine, but just so you know, I may ask you to battle for me in the future." The Lapras nodded; it understood. Reaching forward, Avikna held out the ball, to which the Lapras gingerly floated forward and tapped it's nose to the ball's button, drawing itself inside.

Leaning back on Ule'tra, Avikna watched the ball in her hand slowly shake and finally seal itself shut. Hidden within her Pokedex, Z3R0 waited for his command. Send it to the PC or leave it? Avikna turned the ball towards the water, releasing the Lapras from within. "You like to ferry people, right?" Avikna asked. The Lapras bobbed her head in a nod. Standing up, Ule'tra protested at the shift in weight on his back, Avikna didn't take long however, leaping from Ule'tra's back to the shell of the Lapras. Here she was able to take off her bag and strap it to one of the horns that protruded from her back like a wave breaker. "Happy Ule'tra? I don't need to use your back anymore." The red-head stated, looking down to her bag to search through it's contents.

Eventually, she pulled from inside of it three disc-like objects. Using all three on the Lapras, all but one became useless. Placing that one back in her bag she looked across the water to find Ule'tra staring at her with a familiar look of anger in his eyes. "I thought you'd be happy?" Avikna questioned him. The dragon turned instantly and began swimming back towards where they'd docked. Avikn folded her arms; she just couldn't read that lead head. "Let's go." She finally stated, getting comfortable on the water-types back.

Back on shore there was little protest from Ule'tra when Avikna decided to call him back into his Pokeball. For the time being she also returned Lyvantha, her recent capture. letting Mave free from her ball, the wolf emerged with her body shaking. 'So, you catch that Lapras?' Mave asked, glancing up from her shake out. It was fresh in Avikna's mind, so the wolf didn't need to dig deep. With a grin she nodded. 'Alright than, so now we can get out of this damp cave?' Avikna folded her arms, then nodded. Letting Lexera and Zelda out one more, in case of more wild Pokemon as they made their way up to the ground floor, Avikna set forth once more back to Azalea Town.

Not five minutes on the ground floor, and a Rattata came rushing towards Avikna, specifically Lexera. The sheep, noticing the rat quickly approaching fell to all fours and sent a bolt of thunder at the Rattata, knocking it out instantly. The sheep then returned to her hind legs, wobbling a bit, as she was still getting used to walking on two legs instead of four. Avikna reached a hand down and patted her gently. Showing such affection was rare, if not non-existent when it came to Avikna. Mave noticed this abnormality, however she didn't speak on it. It likely do to the move Return, gaining it's strength from a bond, only found in praise and spending time together. Showing affection this was, if only to strengthen a move was rather.... cruel of Avikna, which was why Mave decided not to say anything.
