Not quite, Shadow. It was a decent attempt, but I don't think your edit will be good enough to use on a card. sweatdrop If the guild is desperate enough then the guild will use edited images. However, I think we could keep working on it for something slightly better. (Click under the spoiler to read a short critic about it. Completely optional though~)
Your edit is still very similar to the Lowemon sprite, just flipped over, with one of its fists pasted twice. The add on of pieces from a Rhihimon picture onto a sprited image makes it appear "off". Like its shoulders are the same position and different sized, instead of having them positioned at the right angle (although the thighs look turned out nice!), even the weapon still has remains of a cropped background. Over all, your submission is a combination of using an official bandai sprite, a self-created one, and a photo- so, it really gives off a strange appearance. @__@;;
I honestly recall a member submitting a sprite of a shrunken down image of the official art on Rhihimon, it had a dark shade outlined around the image, and the file was a .png. Although there is no evidence of it anywhere...so I might be going crazy! Ahh! There are some individuals that do "sprite overs" by taking an image, shrinking it down in size, and then coloring it over to make it appear like a sprite. Some notable examples are the majority of sprites that are posted in this topic on the first page. Although the period of time is unknown if you are waiting for a specific Digimon, and that can be dreadful.
For something quick, you can try the simple converting a picture into a sprite method. Personally I prefer to have an actual sprite over a converted image, but let's be realistic here. Most individuals are too busy managing other tasks, either don't know how to sprite, or just don't want to waste their time. Try taking and official image of Rhihimon, shrink it down to a compatible size for within the DTI card, outline the edges black, then finally erase the background. (Or, color it a different shade, like green, ect.) Here are some notable examples that have been approved and/or have been used in the guild: (Except for that Moosemon.....that one shouldn't count but was used anyways in a contest. It's very bad! D: Half of its mane and one of its back legs are the background, meaning there is empty space.)
Any sprite will do....I guess. It really depends on how desperate the guild is. We had some sprites that were...well....bad. DTI has used them before for older members. Then afterwards, we found improved versions. So now the newer members can enjoy better quality. (Under the cut)
You can see the before and after sprites under here. DTI used a number of digimon that lacked a sprite, but then someone out there in the internet, made a sprite. Or Bandai released a game including that certain digimon. LONG PICTURE WARNING.
Or you can try and and edit a sprite enough to look like a Digimon. sweatdrop This one is supposed to be HerculesKabuterimon...but ehhh. It's a substitude for now...I guess?
Phew! I hope that helped!
