"Good morning, Mentor~" Na'ima greeted him pleasantly, looking around at the others gathered around. Tseng of Conquest? She grinned behind the cover of her veil, golden eyes darting back to the little sign up sheet. What better challenge for a mighty warrior than a surprise date? It would be a sight to see for certain. As Salbei explained attending the previous year with a date, Na'ima turned to find who he meant. Ah! How lovely. "My, Mentor, you really must be quite the Stallion to get a Mare that beautiful." Na'ima teased affectionately, adjusting herself on Salbei's back when she felt herself sliding. It was true, she did need to be carried, her feet weren't even on the ground at this point. She had basically draped herself over him like a pile of veils and scarves. "Are you complaining?" The question sounded a bit harsher than it was meant to be; if dear old Salbei really was complaining she would get down. It was genuine concern. "I was sleeping, I don't feel like standing," she explained simply, finally sliding off Salbei's back to instead stand beside him. "So who is this adorable young Conquest running all of this? Do you know her, Mentor?" She gestured to Ying with an amused smile. She looked so feisty!

A soft smile flitted across dark lips. "I'm glad as well that we didn't loose someone so skilled with their hands." And so generous as well. "I would love that, perhaps something could be made up for prom itself?" She didn't know what the theme was yet, but surely they could make something that would fit regardless. Elegant was universal, and Eitri had already shown himself capable of intricate and lovely work. Mismatched eyes gave a flick towards Ying, and her lips pursed thoughtfully and she wondered if perhaps she should sign up as well. The idea was quickly scrapped though. Nergui knew herself well, and should she find herself paired with someone she did not click well with, the evening would be a disaster. She wasn't willing to risk that. "Did you sign up?" She inquired curiously, turning her attention back up to the blacksmith. If past and current conversations were any indication, She and Eitri got along well. The mare gave him a considering look, then a dark little smile slid into place on dark lips. "I don't suppose you would consider crossing you name out and accompanying me?" It was direct, but that was how the priestess operated. She didn't believe in beating around the bush or playing coy. Often times she came off blunt, but she was incredibly honest.

He hadn't been looking for flowers or a date or that delightful Conquest filly he'd given a piggyback ride to that one time, but here all three of those things were, along with quite a sizable crowd of horsemen. Mmur paused on his mad rush past Ying's whiteboard, then backed up slowly, glowing eyes darting from Death to War to Famine. What was going on here? Finally noticing all of the words at the top of her mysterious list instead of just the most interesting ones, Mmur smiled as he took one of the flowers and secured it behind his ear. Prom! He remembered prom. He hadn't had anyone to escort or be escorted by last year, and he had since learned that it was rather rude to drink directly from the punch bowl, but that was all in the past. The knowledge he had gained since and the promise of someone to accompany him could only make this year even better, right? He grabbed a marker and wrote his name at the bottom of the board a bit larger than it needed to be. Mmur wanted ALL THE DATES. chimarii hello how are you today :>

Jing was having far too much fun putting all the corsages into their decorative display box.
"now its time to put the finishing touches on my suit." he sighed wistfully at the garment hiding in the back that was slowly being dragged out into the open.
It is never fun to sew something for yourself, he realized, the pain of wanting the utmost best and still feeling unsatisfied with the result of all the work.
That and being unaware that your nefarious older sister is trying to get you a date.

*o*
Siska spied another death horseman. She didn't remember seeing him around, which, while not surprising, probably meant he wasn't any kind of soldier. She didn't really think he was dressed the type either. Not that she was an authority on fashion - her outfit was probably testament that she wasn't.
Still, she snuck a bit closer to him. If she hung around someone from her own clan she probably wouldn't stick out so bad. Plus he was like a million feet tall compared to her. He made a good shield. It was strategic. Totally strategic.

Eitri was taken back by her forwardness. He had assumed it was the male's job to ask the female to the dance but perhaps he was wrong. As it was, he wasn't one to back out of something he'd already agreed to do and he gave a slight awkward bow. "I must regretfully decline, Miss Nergui. I have made a commitment to Ying's event and she'll be most upset if I decline."
He gave her a coy smile. "Perhaps you should sign your name up and see if we're fated to be, after all. At the very least, I will promise you a dance; should you wish it."
As the small form came into his peripherals, he raised a brow and looked down at her. "Hey there," he said in that always cheery, slightly boomy voice of his. "Aren't you a little too young to be going to prom?" He patted her head.

"Oh but Tseng," she said with a sigh, "I-It is not all about love! It is about ... just having fun with someone! You get a friend to spend time with! To play games with!" She shyly kicked at the ground. "O-Or so I am told!"
Another pony she hadn't met (Nkosazana) approached and looked rather unsure about the whole ordeal. With a wide smile, Ying said, "Oh friend you are missing out! Prom is a place where there is loud music, and you dance! Sometimes you dance very wildly, and sometimes you dance very close together," she nodded, eyes sparkling at her romanticized image of prom. "You wear pretty outfits and eat food and play games!!" She leaned in very close to Nkosazana and said, "And most importantly, you go with a date!" There might have been a look to Tseng. "For you see, while it is very fun to do all those things by yourself, it is even more fun to do it with friends or-" Her voice got very low as a red color crossed her face. "-or a loved one!" Ying then took the opportunity to point to her whiteboard and said, "If you do not have anyone in mind, I am also offering to create the perfect date for you! After all, it is more fun with someone else!!" Another stare at Tseng.
Ying gleefully clapped when Mmur put the flower behind his ear. "You look very beautiful! You should show Aeron, I think he was struggling with his flower earlier!!"
Seeing as everyone was sorted out, Ying returned to the table, poking her brother with two fingers. "You should look at the board, my brother. It is a very interesting set of people."
With that set of teasing out of the way, Ying actually looked back at Tseng expectantly. She hurriedly gestured him closer. "Friend, could you come here? I am in need of a favor that I believe you can provide supply for."the list 1. Saiyuri 2. Siska - Sempais 3. Eitri - ladies only. 4. Thrain 5. Jing - oh myyyyy 6. Mmur - ALL THE DATES

Tseng crossed his arms again, "Then why did you go on all about love just a moment ago! You ought to make more sense. Truly."
He didn't seem very impresed with Ying at the moment to say in the least. Her attempts to get him to try and find a date were going about in circles or something along those lines.

"No, that's quite alright," Guowei's reply was accompanied by a nervous laugh; this reminded him too much of those matchmaking and blind date sessions his mother used to force him to go on... He would rather marry his work, thank you very much. Or maybe a durian. Marrying a durian would no doubt be simpler and easier to upkeep than marrying another being.
"Are you a matchmaker?" He asked, taking a few steps forward to close the distance between them, so that they wouldn't have to raise their voice. He was back home now - even if this home was filled with horsemen of other clans - and it would be beneficial for him to at least try to act like a Noble, "I am Fu Guowei. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
As he was finished with introductions, he noticed Bao Yu among the people who were gathered here. She would receive a smile along with a nod as greeting, "If it will help calm your nerves, feel free to stand here for as long as you like. Think of how fascinating such a gathering is... The four Clans coming together, united as one. I am sure that it is a sight that you will grow to admire, like I did."
There are so few of them left - it is only natural for the walls between clans to come down, and for new alliances to be forged... After all, they have a very clear common enemy now.

"Oh, no, I did not attend with her. I saw her alone and asked her to join me briefly." He elaborated, mostly in case Shaheen was within earshot and didn't like acknowledging she took part in such an odd dance. The Horsemen also hadn't moved, hadn't tried to hold her legs to keep her steady; if she insisted on staying on his back, she'd have to do the work herself. He was nice like that.
"I never complain." The harsh question received an amused-sounding reply, but he said nothing more than that; mostly because she had crawled down from him, leaving nothing to mention anymore. Red eyes followed Na'ima's gesture towards Ying, and for a moment he considered pretending he hadn't heard her question.
"Ah...that would be Ying. She is a very adept seamstress." He started, watching the Mare move about. "I...do know her, somewhat. I believe she is not too fond of me." Because he broke her heart, and who wouldn't be a little sore about that?

Siska narrowed her eyes up (way up) at the boil, putting her hands on her hips. Young? Young? "I may not be as tall as a tree, but I am not a child." She said huffily. "I'm a trained soldier and I am old enough to attend anything I wish." Even if it was a dumb formal thing that she'd probably have to wear a dress to.
Oh no, dresses. Her face fell a little at the realization.

Na'ima raised a brow at the way Salbei hesitated to tell her about the young Conquest. That was strange even for him. Had something happened between the two of them? It couldn't be that he had forgotten her, not Salbei, but perhaps he wasn't terribly fond of her...or something. She seemed sweet enough.
Oh, it was the other way around. She smiled behind her veil. "A seamstress, hm? I would like to know her. The only clothes I have left are the ones I am wearing," Na'ima lamented with a soft sigh, looking to Ying and tapping at her lips over her veil. She was offering dresses? That could be a wonderful opportunity and all it would cost her was to accompany someone to this Halloween prom? Not a bad deal. "I do not see how anyone could be not fond of you. You must have done something truly awful, Mentor. For shame."
Humming, the horsewoman gave the list another look. Many of the names belonged to Stallions..
"Shall I sign our names on the list, Mentor? Or would you prefer to accompany me yourself?" She had already grabbed and uncapped a marker, ready to write their names down after receiving his answer.

Nkosazana was enthralled by the horsewoman's words, not taking her eyes off her for a moment as the small Conquest artisan went into her explanation as to what this "Prom" thing was.
It sounded like a very ... interesting event, for certain. Music was very comforting, and sometimes could help to ease people into trance, though loud music was not necessarily what she thought of unless she was thinking of drums. Dancing very wildly she could visualize, but dancing very close? That sounded like a disguise for something else, and her cheeks burned lightly at that, attempting to erase any thoughts of the sort from her head.
Pretty dresses and good food was something she could appreciate, though, and her lips pursed as she pondered the thought of going somewhere to drink, be merry, and eat. It was not necessarily something she did often--that was indulgent, and no priestess was indulgent--but she noticed the enthusiasm in those around her--or decided lack of enthusiasm in a few--so perhaps she could let this one slide. After all, if the other horsemen were excited for it, maybe this should be something she should do.
But the prospect of a date was one that made Nkosazana glance to the side, apprehension immediately replacing intrigue. A date? Was that really necessary?
But the young Conquest horsewoman was right--doing things with others was much more interesting than doing things alone. Hm.
At the glance over to the other of Conquest the young artisan seemed to be arguing with, Nkosazana chuckled softly.
Lightly nodding her head to Tseng, Nkosazana asked the artisan (Ying), "Does he not want to go to the prom with anyone else?" A pause. "This prom sounds like it could be rather fun! But I can see why going with a date might be rather intimidating."

Looking to Guowei, she gave a thankful nod at that and decided to stand there with him. Of course, this was after she'd greeted the others that had greeted her while she was with her sister. Red eyes were on the smaller artisan at this moment in time and a small smile played on her lips. Honestly, it felt very good knowing her sister had so many friends within the Clans. She always had a feeling Lifen would be very popular.
"It is.. interesting to see.. I'm fairly sure I admire it already, it is just..." she paused a little and took a moment to gather her words. "It feels just a little overwhelming. I feel I should be making notes on friends, names, and faces. Sadly, I left my notebook with my other things."
She paused again, thinking long and hard about something before turning to her friend. "Sir, I am going to sign up for these blind dates. I wish to make friends in this new home of ours. It seems like it could be interesting. Do you want to sign up as well?

"It is not that bad." Lifen could only say to Shaheen at first, having had good memories from the previous prom, going to rib her friend very softly, before tilting her head to the side. "I can tell that you are not entirely certain about going again, but I would say potentially crashing it would be . . . amusing." She admitted, looking at the small group writing their names down on the list.
"I guess you could also try your luck at a blind date, and see where that goes." She offered, giving the chieftess a grin.
