"Don't mention it." He gave her a soft smile as he removed his hand, standing up as he grabbed his things. He offered her his hand to help her up. "If you would like I could walk you back."

She took his hand. "Maybe a little while. My grandmother will talk if she sees us together though." This made her smile more. The prospect of someone for her dieťa would forever put a smile on the old woman's face.  

[NightWerewolf]

"Will she now? Can't say I'm worried about it though. I'm sure it wouldn't be anything bad." He smiled, pulling her to her feet as he spoke.

"You should have seen her when you left the shop. Happy as can be and having nothing but good things to say." she stood with his help and brushed off her skirt and cloak. "Thank you." she said and then picked up the basket.  

[NightWerewolf]

"My pleasure." He smiled, chuckling softly when she spoke about her grandmother. "Glad to hear it. Seems I must of done something right."

"Possibly or your just the first boy I've talked to in front of her. But who knows, grandmother has lived here for ages, she must hear all the gossip." She smiled a little and started to walk but.

"That could do it as well I suppose." He chuckled softly. "I don't mind making an old woman happy though." He said with a nod.

The made Bernadette smile. "She's right. You are sweet." She said this softly. "Do you have any family here?" She decided to deflect the attention from her and her family for now.  

[NightWerewolf]

"Not at the moment, no. My parents died in a fire a few years back and my sister decided it would be a good idea to go on an adventure. I hear from her occasionally, but that's about it." He shrugged. "And thank you."

"Oh I'm sorry. I couldn't imagine." Bernadette regretted asking now. But was happy to hear he had his sister in some capacity.  

[NightWerewolf]

"Don't worry about it. It was a long time ago and I've since gotten past it. But I appreciate the concern none the less." He gave her a playful shove to try and prove his point.

She laughed a little and shoved back. They were close to the village again and a few people saw them. She could feel the whispers and looks. They already knew whose kin she was.

He stumbled a little and chuckled softly. "And that's how you lighten the mood." He teased, looking at a few of the nearby people, hearing them whisper. He couldn't quite make out what they were saying but he was almost certain it wasn't good.

"I... I should get going. But thank you for the company Alex." She gave him a small curtsy. She didn't want to make things harder for him in his own town. She started to walk off quickly, pulling her cloak tighter around her. With the eyes of some of the villagers watching her she almost felt naked.  

[NightWerewolf]

"Any time." He said, giving her a nod as she curtsied and walked off. He knew something was up but decided it would be best not to push her for an answer. He simply watched as she moved out of sight, then headed back to his own place, curious about what the villagers were talking about.
