My name is Maelthra Ssinss.
Yes, it stands for something, it means Dragon Charm in the Drow language.
I like the way it sounds.
Anyway, I'm a nerd. I watch Doctor Who (The tenth Doctor (played by David Tennant) is my favorite) I play(ed) DnD, I have read and watched all the LotR books and movies multiple times. I am not, however, into Star Wars or Star Trek. I am not that kind of nerd, though my boyfriend hopes to convert me.
I write. Plain and simple. I've been writing since the time I was taught how. I grew up with Harry Potter, quite literally. (And if that doesn't tell you how old I am, or the age I'm around, nothing will). I hate Twilight with a fiery burning passion and intensely dislike the fact that The Hunger Games keeps getting compared to it. The Hunger Games has so much more depth to it/them.
I read Stephen King, Dean Koontz, H.P. Lovecraft, Ed Greenwood, Terry Brooks, R.A. Salvatore, Brandon Sanderson and Robert Jordan, and if you don't recognize a name other than the first two, you need to get out more.
I roleplay and I am quite literate thank you very much, I don't like one liners and I hate god-modding. I dislike Mary Sues and Gary Sues and anyone deemed the Golden Child (except for Ralph in The Lord of the Flies, though I liked Simon better). I like pirates but I personally think Ninja's will whoop Johnny Depp's a** any day of the week.
I can curse like a sailor, but I can also keep it clean. I've worked in the fast food industry for the past three years and I hope to be out of it soon. I have few friends IRL and if you don't know what that means you shouldn't be on the internet at all, but all of them are kept at arm's length because if you let them any close then they introduce you to their bullshit and I have enough stress in my life without adding yours thank you very much.
I realize this is a long introduction post, but just one more thing. I have a rat, I used to have five but I gave one away (she became snake food because she was mean and bit people) the other three died one by one til I just have one left, she's an albino and she's pretty small compared to the others I had but she's getting fat and her name is Luna.
I also have a dog, I don't know what breed she is or how old she is. She looks like a fox, or a coyote, or a German Shepard it depends upon who you ask, I call her a Heinz 57 and if you don't know what that means you should probably be shot, no offense. Her name is Phoenix and she is the most hyper, friendly dog I've ever had, except for Blitzkrieg who was a blue heeler mix with probably some terrier in him. He ran away, and I'm quite certain he found a home because where we were living there wasn't really anywhere to run to
Anyway, I tend to ramble and if you take the time to read all of this. Well, more power to you.
I bid you, good day.

Awesome! You and I share many literary opinions. I freaking LOVE R.A. Salvatore. Legend of Drizzt was always one of my favorites.

Lane-san Lane aka. Olay (Don't ask) I mostly write Horror stories, but I have a lot of trouble coming up with original ideas... sweatdrop
Original idea development... Well I had an idea for that once. Take several sticky notes, maybe nine, and put them into 3 equal piles. One pile will be of simple conflicts. Conflicts always fall under two categories, being physical and philosophical, if you hadn't already known. Physical conflicts involve the physical well being of characters. Philosophical on the other hand deals with the mental and emotional stabilities of characters. The two intertwine, so you'd just choose three different conflicts, being as simple as possible. I usually choose War, Famine, and Personal Disability. Each of those three fall into both Physical and Philosophical conflicts. Since you write horror, you could choose more horrific conflicts. Apparition, Murder, and Torture would work. The next pile would have three characters, each completely different, that would hold the main role. Their personalities would differ from strong to weak or smart to stupid. Then the third pile would be the means of Solution. Usually inanimate objects work. Use a golf club to solve the problem or a sword. In your case, to truly be horrific, I would not even worry about that part. No solution to a horrific problem increases the... well... horror. Then you put the notes in a container and randomly pick three(it's way easier if each category of choice(conflicts, protagonist, solution) were different colors) sticky notes that will give you a conflict, a protagonist, and a solution. The challenge afterwards is intertwining the three. It's a interesting thing to try. I would recommend it.

Elder Astrauld Maelthra Ssinss
Well, nonromantically at any rate.
Would still be a better love story than Twilight.
Bwahaha! This is very true.

XD My favorite picture on the internet is of this old guy talking to a little kid. The caption says, "Back in my day, Vampires sucked blood, not c**k!" The truth lies in the elderly.

Hey everyone, I'm known as Angelic on Gaia but I'm also known as Skylar, you can call me Sky if you like. I write fantasy mostly with a bit of romance but I'm still trying to figure out my writing preferences so I'm writing a lot of different things. As it is probably obvious, I'm very new to writing so I'm very sorry if some of my character start to lean toward the psycho-stalker-Mary-Sue and don't hesitate to tell me if they do! I don't like giving out my age online, call me paranoid! But anyway, I love music but my music tastes are everywhere. Literally, all I have to do is scan through the first small list on my MP3 and I'll have pop, heavy metal, country, rock, and a few others to round out the bunch. I'm pretty much known to everyone as a book geek, but I'm proud to wear the title. If you want to know which books I've read just ask. Ummmmm...That's all I can think for right now. If you want to know anymore, just ask!
