Terence's eyebrow twitched upwards slightly, then relaxed. It did sound rather cheesy. "You want me to take him on a camping trip? Are you sure about this?"
He couldn't help being suspicious. Olan seemed jumpy enough inside let alone outside in the woods. It seemed... like a fool's mission.

"Yeah, I know it sounds stupid, but you'll be surprised at how excited he'll be," Somuka continued to explain, smiling. "Before you know it, you'll be following him to the place instead of the other way around." Her eyes most likely showed her excitement by now, so she closed them.
She stopped talking until she calmed down, and then she opened her eyes again. "If you don't trust me, then remember this: Olan's my little brother, so I know him like the back of my hand."

Terence sighed and shook his head. "All right. I'll do it." He pushed off the door frame and went inside. "I only hope you're right," he muttered to himself.
Once back in his office, Terence called for his head servant. "I'm going to take the new boy on a camping trip. I want you to look after the mansion for three days. Make sure you keep things running smoothly. Also, I will need your help in packing two camping bags. One for Olan and one for myself."

Somuka was thus satisfied and looked forward to what would happen after the trip. Sure, she probably couldn't tag along and comfort her brother, but the master seemed so intent on getting Olan to stop being so jumpy. If he cared that much, then it was right to tell him about the building hidden in the woods.
She had a feeling the trip was going to be a success, and she couldn't wait to see her brother's smile again. It had been such a long time since she ever saw him without fear. He was always trembling, which was a problem back with the old master. Even the slaves there were cruel, always jumping out of hiding places and giving Olan heart attacks. It was a surprise that he didn't keel over and die from fear.

The servant nodded and left, getting to work immediately to do as Terence had asked. When they were finished, Terence nodded to her.
"Thank you. Now, could you please bring Olan to my office? Please inform him of what is happening and tell him that he will spend the night in this office. We leave early in the morning."

Olan had been working on cleaning windows when someone came up to him. He was at first afraid that he had gotten in trouble for something he didn't know he did, but was quite relieved when he was to go to the office for some important business.
He headed toward the office, escorted by the very person who gave him the message. What could the master possibly want him for? If he needed any help with a camping trip, surely Somuka was a much better helper. After all, she was more physically fit and able.

Terence looked up from some papers he was filling out when Olan came in. He smiled. "Hello, Olan. Having a good day so far?"
He stood from his desk and rounded it. "I assume that you've been informed of what I've asked you here for?"

"Y-yes sir, but I'm confused," Olan replied, though nervously. "Why do you want me to go with you? Isn't my sister a better person to go camping with?" He didn't particularly like questioning the master's decision, but he couldn't help wondering if there was perhaps a mistake.
Somehow, he couldn't help but wonder if Somuka was really the mastermind behind this. It was possible, though he was still skeptical about the thought. His sister was rather too protective to even let him lift a blade of grass.

Terence shrugged. "She might be, but I want you to come with me. There's a place I want to show you, and I hope that it will show you that I truly mean no harm.
"I want you to be happy and comfortable here, Olan. Your sister told me about an old cabin you used to live in, and I think I know where it is. I don't think it should take more than a day to get there, but I've planned for three day, just in case."

Olan said nothing for a time, trying to remember if he had actually lived in a cabin. He remembered having a family and a place to stay, but was there really a cabin? Well, if Somuka knew there was such a building existed, then it must have been the truth.
"I guess if Somu says so, then it must be true," Olan muttered. "She definitely wouldn't lie, right?"

Terence nodded. "I don't think she would, no. She said it was when you were really little, so she didn't think you'd remember it."
As he spoke, he walked to the couch in his office and pulled the cushions off, pulling out the bed underneath. "You'll sleep here tonight. We're leaving early in the morning."

Olan nodded, showing that he understood. It wasn't like he had any other choice anyway. He was a slave, not a friend to the master. If anything, he would have to listen to the master's every word without complaints or questions, though that rule was slightly difficult to follow considering the master's intentions were already strange.
He wanted to ask for his sister to come along, since she might want to see the cabin as well, but he bit his tongue. Slaves weren't supposed to make requests, and he had learned that the hard way.

Terence nodded once. "I must attend to a few affairs. Sleep. I'll wake you at dawn." With that he bowed his head slightly in farewell and whisked briskly out of the room.
Dawn came much quicker than Terence expected, but he was up and ready anyway before going to wake Olan. "Come," he murmured, trying not to startle him out of sleep. He knew from experience what a horrid way that was to wake up.
((I'm so sorry. I changed jobs and my hours went crazy. I haven't had much time in the last four months to get on. I am so sorry.))

(It's no problem, I understand. I was bored, though.)
Perhaps it was because the master had commanded it, but Olan fell asleep soon after he was left alone in the room. Tonight was different, however, because he wasn't very afraid of what would happen tomorrow. For once in his life, he was thankful, especially since he was rescued from death.
In the morning, the unfamiliarly soft voice of the master helped bring him out of his slumber, though he had wanted to rest a little more. It couldn't be helped. He had no other choice except to obey his master.
