Raudr made it back to the castle in record time. He stood outside the castle gate hidden in a long cloak that covered his head and body. He walked up to one of the soldiers and asked if he could enter to which the soldier laughed and told him to go home. Raudr agreed then pointed at a stone that had strangely loosed itself from the ceiling. The soldier barely had time to look up before it hit him square in the head. He fell to the floor unconscious. Raudr looked around for any others and found none. He picked the soldiers armor off and put it on himself. He hid the guard in the bushes in the garden where he had last seen Kaeanlanna. He gave him another small sleeping spell to make sure he would sleep soundly through the rest of the night. He entered through the door on the side of the castle. He asked a passing servant boy where the princess was and he answered in her room and pointed out the directions. The boy walked away muttering something about stupid soldiers not being able to find their way. Raudr followed the boy's instructions passing by other soldiers before finding the room. He removed his armor and stepped inside making sure to silence his scent with magic this time.

Kaeanlanna had yawned while she was staring at Keenan. He came over and curled up next to her, and she ended up petting him til she had fallen asleep above the covers. She had been fighting sleep, knowing it wasn't the best thing to do, but her body had told her otherwise.

Raudr crept closer to the bed. As he approached a thought hit him. A voice in his head seemed to say, "Now what will you do, Raudr? Kill her while she is defenseless or wake her and try to talk with her?" This thought stopped him in his tracks. The decision had to be made here and now. She had already refused to listen to him before so what would make now any different? Then again, he had a different approach this time...

Kaeanlanna had slept into a deep dreamless sleep. Keenan had watched over her for a few minutes before he too had fallen asleep. What the two didn't know was that her father was done with business for the day and was sending guards to escort the two to him.

As Raudr stood there in mental controversy, he never heard the guards coming to Kaeanlanna's door until they knocked on the door. He nearly jumped and instinctively dove under the bed.Damn! Damn! DAMN!, he thought as he heard the guards continue to beat on the door.Man, she sleeps like a log.

Kaeanlanna continued to sleep, in the meantime, the guards had waited for awhile and one saw the armor left near the door and knew something was off. Half of them went to search for an intruder, one quarter went to search the rest of the castle for the princess, and the last quarter went to Galbatorix to inform him. One lone guard stood by the door just in case Kaeanlanna was still inside.

Raudr waited for a while after the pounding had ceased. They must have found the armor outside.Gah! This just gets better and better. Now they know I'm here and I can sense the others are gone but there is one left at the door! What am I supposed to do now? He sighed and poked his head out from under the bed. He could see the dragon's tail just jutting away from the side of the bed. He returned under the bed and thought about what his next move would be.

Kaeanlanna still slept, but on the otherhand, Keenan woke up when the guards banged on the door. He tried to ignore them, and was glad when they were gone, but then, as he was trying to go back to sleep, he heard a very quiet noise from under the bed. Thinking it was a rat, he jumped off the bed to investigate. When he ended up seeing the guy from earlier, he looked at him curiously. He had seemed like a nice enough person earlier, and he was interested in why he was there.

Raudr felt something slide off the bed and turned to face the little dragon. Raudr gulped hard. This little dragon seemed to not be afraid of him though. He cocked his head towards Raudr. Raudr figured that the little guy may not share the same opinions as his Rider did. Raudr closed his eyes and attempted to talk to the dragon's mind. I'm not your enemy. I simply want to take you away from Galbatorix's evil influence. You could be the only one left to save the dragon race. He hoped the little dragon would understand.

Keenan looked momentarily back at Kaeanlanna, as she was still asleep. He nodded, to showed he understood, then he tried to show the man that it might be best to take Kaeanlanna while she was asleep. He'd try and make her understand later. He grabbed the man's sleeve with one leg and tried to pull him out, like a toddler pulling on their parent's leg.

Raudr smiled as the dragon understood him. He wondered what the dragon was doing by pulling his leg then understood that he wanted Raudr to get out from under the bed. He came up from under the bed and looked at Kaeanlanna's sleeping form. He received a picture of Raudr picking her up and getting out of the castle. Raudr smiled wider as he liked the dragon's plan. He picked Kaeanlanna up from her bed and went quietly to her door. He opened it a crack and used magic to dispatch the guard by the door the same way he done the first. He made sure the dragon was out of the room before pointing his hand at the bed and muttering, "Brisingr". The bed soon caught in flames and Raudr hurried down the hall carrying the girl with the dragon on his back.

Kaeanlanna had begun dreaming that she was flying on Keenan, something yet to come, and she smiled lightly in her sleep. On the otherhand, Keenan was enjoying himself as he sat on the man's shoulder, knowing that eventually that Kaeanlanna would be happy about leaving. However, he could smell the other guards nearby, he tried to show the man that he had to go the other direction, for the other way was danger. He'd be happy once they left the palace walls.

Raudr received another vision of guards coming from the right so he headed left. He looked down and noticed Kaeanlanna smiling in her sleep. He stifled a laugh as he wondered what she was dreaming about. He continued down the corridor. The exit has to be close.

Kaeanlanna , still sleeping, had mumbled. Keenan had looked at her, but realized she was still asleep. He smelled the fresh air, but also heard heavy footsteps from where they just were. He urged the man to hurry up, in fear that they'd be stopped.

The dragon seemed urgent and Raudr sped up. He reached the door he had come through. He left the building and looked out into the garden. It was empty. He checked on the still sleeping guard and looked up at the window where Kaeanlanna's room should be. Fire was flying out of it wildy and much shouting could be heard all the way down here. He smiled as his plan had worked. He hurried through the gate he had come. He picked up his cloak where he had left it and wrapped up the girl with it. He left the city soon after and returned to his spot in the woods. He set Kaeanlanna down in the cave with his sleeping mat and the cloak. He sat down at the foot of the cave to keep watch but quickly fell asleep himself.
