Gho the Girl rmcdra Gho the Girl rmcdra I like what you have going here. Very nice. How'd you get in here? surprised I didn't know you were a member of this guild. heart I'm special, don't you know that by now razz . I have my ways ninja . Glad to be here too DB and Gho heart . *huggggggs* On srs bsns for a sec, can we discuss original sin? I don't agree with it conceptually, and I'd like your perspective. I know you sent me that exhaustive list I read, so I understand what it is, but I don't agree with it, ya know? Oh I understand and its alright, you don't have to agree.
Personally to me Original Sin in my tradition would better be explained in the terms of Platonism, you're in the Cave, the light is there casting shadows you see the shadow, you know something is making the shadows but you don't know what it is that makes the shadows. In my tradition Original Sin is just describing being in this state. When you first realize there's a world outside the cave and have seen it's light is when you are free of Original Sin. Yes our original sin definition is quite different from orthodoxy but hey that's heresy for ya. The "blinders" may still be there but you have a better idea on how to reach the target.

What of those who go out into the larger world but find different things from you? Basically, is the only way to leave the cave through YHVH or can an Asatru leave the cave?

I don't have an answer but it's assumed that whoever the deity is that is the source of that light transcends all other deities. I don't know if my God is YHVH or not but this god meets the description of YHVH and I understand this deity that I follow in terms of YHVH. But I know that there are things about YHVH that don't match up with the God I know. Things like this God would never ask or pressure me to kill in his/her name, hate a group of people. I fact when I feel self-rightious is when I feel further away from my God and I know it's not because my God left me but because I stepped out of that "nature" (don't know what would be the word to put here is).

I get that, I really do, that thing about "nature" and stuff. I've been grappling with agape since reading part of "The Third Jesus." It's really important, and I never knew how many times in my normal life I step out, so to speak.

Gho the Girl TeaDidikai Gho the Girl It's really important, and I never knew how many times in my normal life I step out, so to speak. Agape is really ******** hard. Especially when you're a bitter old dishwasher >.< Or you're a arrogant hotel night clerk. >.>
Quote: Eh, the road is hard, yes, but in those few moments where I'm really getting it, it's really rewarding. It is for me too. At least I now know it doesn't have to be a lonely one.
