I grew up with rock music being my number one, my dad wouldn't have it any other way.
I'm kind of disappointed that some of my favorites haven't been mentioned yet. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks they're rock? heh... But my idea of rock is wide, I think pretty much anything can be branched under the genre of rock.
A mix of what I think is rock; The Pixies Violent Femmes Joy Division CCR David Bowie Frank Zappa Jefferson Airplane T-Rex Zombies CKY The Smiths The Flaming Lips Sonic Youth Hüsker Dü Vast Erase Errata Interpol These Arms Are Snakes Built To Spill Deerhoof Tegan and Sara Polysics Bauhaus Elvis Costello Talking Heads Kill Me Tomorrow Dead Kennedys Descendents Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

If it's too loud it's because I'm too old to hear it unless I crank it! blaugh
I love old punk, old metal and old art rock. I honestly dislike 99% of everything I've heard since 89 (yes, folks -I truly am a geezer).

Oh, you lucky dog, you got concert tickets! I played for years in a blues band. We did a lot of Stones, Zeppelin, Cream covers (yes, I really am old enough to remember those as top artists).

Recently I have been listening to this stuff that reminds me of the 80s. Is 80s rock trying to make a comeback or what?

Chicago ELO Moody Blues Queen AC/DC Def Leppard Whitesnake Elton John Billy Joel Josh Groban Rod Stewart Enya Fleetwood Mac and many, many others... wow - I'd be here forever because there's WAAAAAAY too many to list - but I don't think I saw Chicago on anyone else's post!!! I LOVE CHICAGO!
Mostly I love groups that have more instruments than guitars and drums - unless they have great vocal harmony!
Add instruments like different keyboards, strings, brass, etc... and they ROCK in my book!

I listen to just about anything. But right now, me and the hubby are going through a speed metal kick.
I think it's because we both play warhammer, and it's good music to listen to while we assemble and arrange our armies. (I'm woodelves, he's vampire count) And for those of you who don't know what the hell i'm talking about...tsk tsk tsk mrgreen
Music currently on playlist:
Dragonforce Rhapsody
