Living in servetude (sassiechicka and shuro2009)

Emily smiled, "I guess I have always been forinate with the princess. She's always shown me some bit of respect. I've always shown everyone including other slaves respect. They say when I walk into a room I command respect. What do you think, Kyo?"  

[Shuro2009]

"you're certiantly are different which causes you to demand attention with your presence. Respect probably comes with time getting to know you."  

[sassiechicka]

Emily looked at him, "Is being different bad in your eyes?"  

[Shuro2009]

"No. Every one is different. On the occasion you find a norm that tends to run through. Being different from that i find is actually better especially depending on the norm."  

[sassiechicka]

Emily smiled at him, " So with me being different at least I get your attention."  

[Shuro2009]

"You could say that." He said with a slight smile.
It was nice to be able to talk to someone in a normal-ish way.

Emily decided to take what she could get out of Kyo whether it be a compliment or not. This was the first guy that had actually been nice to her. Emily smiled at him as she slipped off her slippers and put her feet into the pond.

"How's the water?" He joked.

Emily smiled at him, "Slip your boots off and find out for yourself."  

[Shuro2009]

He hesitated, before taking off his boots and joining her in the water.
"After spending all day on my feet, this really does feel nice." He said after a moment.

Emily touched his feet with her feet. She was trying to flirt with Kyo, but she wasn't very successful at it. "Kyo, what happens to you if your prince marries my princess?"  

[Shuro2009]

"If I please the princess, and the prince wishes it, I stay with him. If not, I go back to the markets all over again." He said simply.

Emily got a sad look on her face, "Kyo, I don't want you to go back to the market. It's not fair."  

[Shuro2009]

"I don't want to go back either, but I have no say in the matter unless my prince releases me from enslavement. Even being a servant is better. but until he sees fit, I don't even truly have control of my own life. It's a lesson a I learned the hard way."

Emily looked at Kyo, "I can talk to the princess and see if she will keep you around. I'm sure she likes the prince. Do you want me to talk to her for you?"
