The Clans

Patchstar's ears pricked as she heard her warriors enter the camp. "Anything to report?" She wondered as Runingfur, Rainstripe and Mosswhisker approached her.

"All is quiet now. We helped clear their camp of icicles." Runningfur reported.

"All SnowClan cats are okay." Mosswhisker added. Rainstripe nodded.

"Good." Patchstar waved her tail, telling them to continue on with clan life. "I didn't want anything to keep them from the gathering tomorrow."

Patchstar's deputy, Swiftfeather, padded up to her. "Have you decided who's going to the gathering yet, Patchstar?"

"Not yet, Swiftfeather." answered Patchstar. "But I'll choose the cats tomorrow."

Patchstar slept through the night easily. She was exhausted after the incident with SnowClan today. The next morning she woke up and grabbed herself a vole from the fresh-kill pile. She had thought about who was going to the gathering last night, and now she was going to tell everyone. Patchstar hopped up on a tall mossy rock and called out, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Mossrock for a clan meeting. I have decided who shall go to the gathering tonight." She listed the cats she had chosen.

"Sageheart, Runningfur, Mosswhisker, Rainstripe, Pebblepaw, Foxclaw, Featherheart and Dapplepaw."

Crystalstar woke from her dreamless sleep, she rose and streched her aching limps. The work from yesterday had left her sore. Still sleepy, Crystalstar walked out of her make shift den and looked at the waking camp. Bouldertail and Mousepaw came out of the Medicine den followed by Tallpaw. Spottedpelt, CLoudclaw, and Owlpaw came through the cave enterence. Crystalstar jumped down from the ledge that led to her and walked up to Spottedpelt. "Good morning, Spottedpelt, how was the patrol?"

"Great, all is quiet on the borders," Spottedpelt replied and bowed her head. "Owlpaw was great, there was a stale sent of fox, but it was a few days old." Crystalstar nodded and walked away to meet with Bouldertail, Mousepaw and Tallpaw.

"Hello, how is Tallpaw, Bouldertail?" She meowed to the medicine cat.

"Great, he can continue with his training," Replied the the white tom. Crystalstar purred happily and walked over to the fresh-kill and grabbed a rabbit.

The sun rose high when Crystalstar entered the camp, carring two dead voles. The camp full of life, warriors shared tounges with other warriors, apprentices praticing fighting moves or eating. Crystalstar had thought hard about who would come to the gathering tonight. She jumped up onto the Snowledge and yowled, "Let all cats old enough to catch there own prey gather here benth the Snowledge for a clan meeting." The white leader waited for her clan to gather benth her. "I have decided who will go to the gathering; Sandstripe, Bramblepelt, Snowfang, Swiftfoot, Beepaw, and Tallpaw." She said the names and went to her den, signaling to Brightfur to follow.

Sandstripe held her head high, My first gathering as a warrior! She thought as the meeting broke up. She walked over to the warriors den, poking her head inside to find a place for a bed. Spottedpelt was in her next, cleaning her fur, "Oh, hi, Sandstripe." She meowed looking up, "Need to find a place for your nest?" Sandstripe nodded and came the rest of the way in. Spottedpelt walked into the back of the den and found an open spot. "We have some extra moss over here," The she-cat grabbed some moss and made a nest for her new denmate.

(working on it...I made a place, in between two rivers, where they can gather. There is a small pool in the middle, and on top of the pool there's a....a....rock, or a tree or something where they speak to the Clans. you get over the river by a tree on the woodclan/snowclan/moonclan side, and on the fireclan side, there's stepping stones)

The sun began to set over the trees. Light hardly even reached into MoonClan territory on most days, but there were a few that carried the sun's warming rays. Patchstar gathered up the warriors she picked to go to the gathering.

"All right you all, we're heading out in a little while. Grab yourselves something to eat while we get prepared." Patchstar mewed. Her warrirors broke apart and began to eat their share of the fresh-kill pile.

Swiftfeather trotted up to Patchstar. He dropped a plump thrush at her feet. "You need to eat too, Patchstar." he meowed warmly. Patchstar thanked her deputy and began tucked into her meal.

Finally, it was dark. Patchstar and her warriors were ready to leave. She led them out of their camp and began weaving through the trees to the small ravine. No one else was in sight, and all the scents were stale. Patchstar flicked her tail and led her warriors over the thick tree-bridge and hopped onto the other side. Pebblepaw almost slipped on the slick bark, but managed to get over okay.

Patchstar and her warriors came into the Gathering area. FireClan was already there, with Novastar perched on top of the Great Tree that sat on top of the pond in the middle of the area. The MoonClan warriors dashed off to the FireClan cats and began to share their news with them. Featherheart and Dapplepaw met up with the FireClan medicine cat, Rockclaw.

Patchstar wove across the Great Tree's big roots and came to sit next to Novastar while she waited for Crystalstar and Dawnstar to still arrive.

Crystalstar gathered her warriors and apprentices she had picked to go to the gathering. When everyone had gathered around their leader they headed out of the make-shift camp. The snow was piled high outside, but the Snowclan cats easily climb on top of it. The raced down the mountain side, towards the Great Tree, Crystalstar could smell Fireclan and Moonclan.

Crystalstar and her warriors quickly crossed the tree-bridge, Sandstripe ran to her apprentice friends, eager to tell them the good news. Everyone else did the same. Crystalstar walked over to Novastar and Patchstar and sat next to her good friends, trying not think mean about Fireclan. (sorry couldn't help it!)

Sandstripe ran over to Marshpaw, Robinpaw, Thistlepaw, and Blackpaw from Fireclan. Applepaw, Nightpaw, and Pebblepaw, from Moonclan, were there too. "Hi, guys!" Sandatripe said holding her head high.

"Hey, Sandpaw!" Said Applepaw, as the other apprentices nodded to her.

"I'm not Sandpaw anymore I'm Sandstripe now!"

as Dawnstar, Flamepaw and Milkyway came to the gathering, Dawnstar saw Crystalstar, Patchstar and Novastar. "hello Crystalstar, Patchstar, Novastar shall we begin the gathering?" Dawnstar meowed to the clan leaders. as the leaders went on the great rock(or tree). "let the gathering begin!" Dawnstar yolled. as the cats came slient Dawnstar looked at the clan leaders. "ill go first." Dawnstar meowed. "every thing in WoodClan is normal. prey plentiful and we havent seen any twolegs or rouges." Dawnstar steped back then let the next leder talk.

Crystalstar walked forward and looked over the cats, "All in Snowclan is well. Prey is running and we have a new warrior, Sandstripe." Snadstripe stood up and held her head high. "That is all." Crystalstar stepped back and let the next leader talk.

Novastar was up next, stating how one of their apprentices had been wounded from a fall into the Fire Pond, but all was well.

Patchstar yowled out her news, "MoonClan is well. The prey is running and we have had no trouble from twolegs. That is all, the gathering is now over." Gingerly, she jumped down off the Great Tree, and the other leaders followed. Crystalstar was rounding up her cats when Patchstar called out to her, "Crystalstar!"

"Yes?" The SnowClan leader turned and touched noses with her friend.

Patchstar couldn't help the purr that rumbled deep within her chest. She couldn't keep it a secret anymore. She had to tell Crystalstar, so delicately she whispered into her ear, "I'm expecting kits!"

as Dawnstar walked to Milkyway she saw Flamepaw coming up to them.
"have you had any sine from StarClan?" Dawnstar meowed. Milkyway shook her head. "sorry Dawnstar StarClan is silent." Dawnstar sighed then waved her tail to the the two cats. perhaps her mate would be on grard.

Crystalstar stared, wide eyed, at Patchstar. "Thats great! I hope they're healthy kits, when they're born." She brushed musles with her friend, "I'll see you later and wish you well." Fliching her tail, her clanmates followed their leader out of the gathering.
