Lan smiled and petted Kane's hair. He lifted him up a bit so he was leaning against Lan's chest. "Yeah we should go back. But first," he said opening his mouth "Can I have some gum too?" Lan said expecting Kane to put a stick of it in his mouth.

Kane took out another stick of the gum and put it in Lan's open mouth. "Alright. I guess we should go talk to them about it before they get too involoved to be bothered." Kane smiled and then got up. "Thanks for your advice Kasa."
"Fine, fine. Just don't come here everytime mass havoc breaks out!" She nearly chased the two of them out of the room, but she was not really angry. Only worried for them.

Lan smiled and chewed as they walked. He made sure to hold on to Kane's arm as they walked because he was still afraid of him being too weak. The furry tail of his flicked left and right in contentment as he rubbed it along Kane's back. After they walked down the stairs they saw Lucca and Ryzil still going at it. Lan blushed and turned to Kane. "Let them finish their moment, we can have ours" he said flushing. "Come to think of it, I wonder what flavor your gum is. Wanna trade?" Lan said blushing as he turned to face Kane.

"It's the same flavor," kane said obliviously. In this short time that he had been allowed to drop his faces, he had forgotten some basics as well. "It looks like they're coming this way," Kane warned as he saw Lucca take off. Standing in front of the exit to block them, Kane said, "Then this is good timing."

"Err, Lan," Kane tugged at his sleave, "Exactly how much should we tell them?" He had an uncertain look on his face, exposing his persisting uncertainty about hte situation.

((Gah! Fine then, tugged at his cape tail!))
Looking down at the floor, Kane said uncomfortably, "Alright. I trust you." He was putting his faith in Lan that nothing would go wrong. Holding Lan's hand, Kane leaned against his shoulder for support as he staggered a little. His head spun a bit and he was losing his balance.

Lan sensed Kane was growing weaker. "We're not doing anything till you get some rest. You have no idea how potent our claws are" he said as he picked up Kane in his arms and carried him down to the beds. First Lan sat down on one and then pulled Kane up so he was resting in his lap. "Thank you for trusting me" he said as he nuzzled Kane's shoulder.

Kane's vision was fuzzy, and he was begining to shiver. "C-cold," he stuttered to Lan. He was becoming confused and losing his grasp of reality. Then, as it all finally overwhelmed him, he passed out in Lan's arms.

Lan was not worried that Kane had passed out. He had been through a lot and was badly in need of some rest. "You poor thing. You get hurt and try just to keep a smile on my face. I love you so much" he said as he carressed Kane's face with his ring hand. Bringing Kane up so his head was on a pillow, Lan pulled the warm sheets up over the two of them. "Sweet dreams lover....." he said before drifting into sleep himself.

As the two lovers slept peacefully side-by-side, something slithered into the room. Low on the ground, it crawled across the floor and over to the bed side. With a gentle tug it plucked Kane soundlessly from the sheets and began to make its way back to the door.

Hissing at Lan, the dark frog-like thing with tentacles used Kane as a sheild against the music. "Kyaa!!!" Even in his forced sleep Kane could feel the sting of the notes. Keeping Kane between Lan and itself, it made its way out of the building as fast as it could.

Lan screamed as the thing ran with Kane. He took out his sais and shifted to his cat form. He ran after the thing with lightning speed and caught up with it. Lan reached out and grabbed him from the creature before jumping and stabbing into the creature, pinning it to the ground. As he hit the ground he made sure Kane was on top of him. After making sure Kane was okay, he walked over to the creature and poked the other sai into it's neck. "What are you and who are you working for? Why are you trying to hurt Kane?"
