"Sure," was all Utsuki said. Maybe going to the park would help him think of something to say once he decided to confront his dad again.

Janet nodded and led the way to the car, driving them to the park. "I'm going to walk the track for a bit. Come find me whenever you want to leave."

"Okay, thanks," Utsuki said, and then he exited the car and walked toward the center of the park. There were a few birds floating in the lake, and if he had his camera he would have taken a picture of them.

"Hey, Utsuki," a voice called as another boy ran up to him, waving. "Hey. It's been awhile. You wanna come shoot some hoops with us? We could use another player."

"Uh, sure," Utsuki replied, since he had nothing better to do. Shooting hoops sounds a whole lot better than just sitting around.

"Cool. Come on. We're over here. It's been awhile since we've seen you. We were starting to wonder if maybe we'd said something to upset you. Hey! Did you hear? You know, about that guy that was an expert at, like, everything against the law? He was caught the other day. In the hospital. Who knew a guy like that would be in the hospital, huh? Apparently, one of the nurses recognized him and turned him in. Some news reporter said they took him in even before they were done with whatever medical treatments he was in there for."

Utsuki would have asked a question regarding this, but that would probably give away that he knew Kenichi, so he stayed quiet. What was that about medical treatments? Kenichi had been taken to jail without being well first?

Court, unaware of the confusion he was causing, continued. "I mean, he was sort of asking to get caught, wasn't he? If I was a guy like that, I'd only go to the hospital if I wanted to get arrested, you know? Who knows, maybe the jerk finally had a change of heart and decided to turn himself in. He has always had a sort of flare for being... conspicuous, doesn't he."

"I guess so," Utsuki agreed quite uneasily. "He seemed to think it was worth it or something. I think I heard that he had been stalking someone, but that's probably just something I've misheard." The young photographer wasn't sure if his dad had told that to the public yet, as he hadn't watched the news.

Upon realizing that apparently that fact wasn't released to the public, Utsuki paled a little. "Th-that might not be true! I probably just heard something else," he said. Oh great... Now he just started a gossip.
