Dritt and Monodramon ran alongside Moon, with the Airdramon right on their tails.

"Wing Cutter!" The Airdramon flapped his wings and two blades of air at the tamers and their digimon.

"Duck!" Monodramon shouted. The attack bare sailed over their heads, landing in front of them, making a cloud of dirt. The group ran threw the cloud, dodging over attacks from the irate Airdramon.

"Guys, we have a problem...it's a dead end!" Dritt shouted. They had come to the edge of a cliff. "It's way too far to jump down, and if we try to climb, we'll be sitting ducks."

Monodramon looked over at Elecmon and spoke quickly, "It's our turn now." Monodramon sprinted towards the Airdramon.

"Monodramon, what are you doing, he's gonna massacre you!" Dritt shouted, running after his partner.

"Burst Shadow Wing!" Monodramon flapped his wings a wave of dark energy shot out, hitting the Airdramon.

Dritt stopped in his tracks. "Whoa...Monodramon...you can fight?"

"Whoohoo! Good guys one, crazy flying dragon, zero." Dritt remarked. His celebration was short lived, as the Airdramon growled and flapped his wings, rising back into the sky. "Uhhh...Monodramon, I think all you did was piss it off."

The Airdramon turned towards Dritt, "Spinning Needle!" and fired air spears in his direction. Dritt tried to dodge backwards, but forgot that he was on the edge of a cliff and fell, grabbing onto the ledge at the last second. The Airdramon bolted in his direction, teeth bared.

"Moon! Monodramon! Help!" Dritt's cries were punctuated by a flash of white light that emanated from Monodramon and his digivice. Time seemed to slow.

"Monodramon, digivolve to...Strikedramon!"

Dritt looked up to see Strikedramon run in front of the Airdramon and grab it by it's head. "Whoa...is that Monodramon? Did he just shoot up steroids or something?" Moon had rushed over to help Dritt up, with the help of Elecmon. Together, they pulled Dritt up over the cliff. Strikedramon was still holding Airdramon's head and the Airdramon was flapping it's wings frantically, trying to push Strikdramon back over the cliff.

"Monodramon, you can do it! Body slam him!" Dritt shouted. Strikedramon nodded and started to lift Airdramon into the air and then slammed him into the ground. He then grabbed the Airdramon's head again, this time spinning him to gain momentum and chucking him into the far wall.

"Alright Monodramon! Finish him off!" Dritt cheered.

Strikedramon's body became engulfed in flames and he shouted, "Strike Fang!" The Airdramon had barely just recovered, once again lifting itself into the air as Strikedramon charged at it and rammed his flame covered body into him. The Airdramon let out a cry of pain as it dissipated into data. Strikedramon glowed as he absorbed the data into his body.

"Monodramon, that was awesome! I had no idea you were so powerful." Dritt remarked

"I digivolved Dritt. I'm Strikedramon now." Strikedramon announced.

"You digi-what?" Dritt asked.

"Digivolved. It's how we digimon become stronger." There was another flash of light as Strikedramon reverted back to his rookie stage and fell down.

"Whoa, Monodramon, are you okay?" Dritt asked, running to his partner.

"Yeah, I'm just tired, and really hungry."

"So, how come you're Monodramon again?" Dritt asked.

"Digivolving takes a lot of energy." Monodramon replied.

"Hmm, all these name changes are confusing. You need a nickname so I don't have to call you something different when you digivolve...how about Divide?" Dritt said.

"Sure, sounds good to me." Divide said.

Dritt turned towards Moon and Elecmon, "Hey, thanks for pulling me up that cliff. It looks like these mountains aren't the safest place, so I say we try to get out as soon as possible. Any ideas on where we should go?"

Before Moon could even collect his thoughts, here was this guy who had come from the bushes and was now talking to us.
"hey Dritt this guy looks pretty strong"
Moon examined this guy up and down and his eye we stuck on his digivice in his hand.
"you must have a digimon also, right?"
Moon dusted him off and introduced himself
"my name is Moon, and this is my partner Elecmon"
"nice to meet you"
Elecmon shook off the dust that was on him and then slowly walked up next to Moon.

"You were just watching!?" Dritt shouted at the newcomer. "I was hanging from a cliff at one point!"

Divide put his hand on Dritt's shoulder, "I wouldn't have let you fall, Dritt, this guy has his own Digimon, so he probably knew I'd digivolve to save you."

Dritt let out a sigh, "I guess it can't be helped. I wouldn't expect someone else to fight my battles for me anyway. The name's Dritt, and this here's my partner Divide."

"But Dritt, I did all the fighting in that last battle..." Divide whispered.

Dritt let out another sigh. "I almost fall to my death, and I get no credit whatsoever."

"Since you've been here awhile, you must know a lot more about this place than we do. How did we end up here and why? And do you know if there's any way to get back to the real world?" Dritt asked, now more businesslike.

"Well that...sucks." Dritt said, scratching his head. "Well then Dax, any idea where we can get rest and something to eat? Divide's pretty wiped from that last battle and I wouldn't say I'm in the best condition either."

Divide clutched his growling stomach. "My stomach sounds like an Airdramon."

"toy and tama town is the nearest place with food, however, its a days walk away. We can start heading there tomorrow to get more suitable shelter than I can provide." Dax led the small group into a cave. Inside the cave was a good-sized fire, one rolled-out sleeping back and two rolled-up sleeping bags, a first aid kit, a wooden pot, and a bunch of other junk.
"Most digimon don't mind sleeping on the ground, but if yours do, I can get them sleeping bags. Now as for food....."
Dax's digivice glowed and a large number of digimon appeared around Dax.
An Agumon, a Veemon, a Kotemon, A gabumon, a bearmon, A leormon, a patamon, and a Pink Gaomon holding a Yuramon appeared.
"Right. Patamon, Gwen, tend to the fire, setup the tent, unroll the sleeping bags, etc."
The Patamon flew over to a fire and started tending to it, but the Pink Gaomon, instead of unrolling the sleeping bags, put her hands on her hips.
"Now look here, I'm taking care of a baby, and I-"
Dax cut her off.
"I dont wanna hear it, Gwen. Fine, keep taking care of Yuramon."
"Agumon, Gabumon, get some water. Bearmon, get some fish from the uphill stream. Kotemon, get some berries." All of the digimon nodded and ran out of the cave.

Gwen smiled. "We come along. Although I'm not really supposed to be a digimon. I-"
Dax gave Gwen a death look. She hushed up.
Patamon rolled his eyes.
"As if fighting the demon lords wasn't enough, now we have to deal with Gwen and Dakota's constant bickering."
